00:00You are the real terrorists!
00:01You are the ones that are sending our people off to war!
00:04You are the reason that all these white boys are dying!
00:07You are the reason that all these poor people are dying in wars that have nothing to do with them!
00:11So go home!
00:14Despite impassioned beliefs from either side,
00:17the protests at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland
00:19got off to a fairly peaceful start.
00:22No PKK, no racist, USA!
00:24Sisters and brothers, what you have accomplished by your collective courage is truly amazing.
00:33You have come from all across the country,
00:36and you'll be glad to know that we had people counting during the march,
00:40and we had nearly 1,000 people here at the height of this march.
00:45In the months ahead, and in the weeks ahead,
00:49we are going to continue to stand up.
00:52We're going to stand up to Trump!
00:54They try to call us terrorists so that way you dehumanize us,
00:57so that way you don't see us as the beautiful people that we are.
01:00I think we need to let the indigenous people of their lands prosper.
01:03We need to dismantle anti-blackness,
01:05and we need to free black people,
01:06because we can't be free until black people are free.
01:10The city has significantly ramped up police presence
01:13for this year's particularly contentious event.
01:17Swarms of police officers on bikes followed protestors to the public square,
01:21where demonstrators from opposing sides came face-to-face.
01:24Right now, you've got the Trump supporters talking behind us,
01:28but at the same time, you also have the other supporters,
01:31the Democratic Party.
01:32We're here! We're fabulous! Don't talk to us! We're here!
01:36We're here! We're fabulous!
01:38It's very important to be here right now so you can be heard,
01:40so you can feel like you're standing up with something,
01:42so your voices can be heard, and so you can make a difference.
01:44It's so powerful, though!
01:46We're here! We're here! We're here!
01:48We're here! We're here! We're here!
01:49Ohhhh!
