Transcript
00:00How many elected women, presidents, and prime ministers in the whole world do you think there have been?
00:04Not many. I don't know.
00:06Two, three, five, six.
00:07I proceeded to ask everyone around me who I thought might know the number,
00:11and nobody even came close to half.
00:13And it made me think, what else don't I know?
00:15This sent me down a road to piece together a new narrative.
00:19The change itself goes from the unthinkable to the impossible,
00:23but someone has to move it along.
00:25And as I learned more, I kept thinking about my mom's thesis
00:28that looked at the importance of email mentors.
00:30A mentor is someone who helps somebody else find their own path.
00:34Mentors are all around us, younger, older, peer-to-peer, country-to-country,
00:39and we need to keep them all right here, right next to us.
00:4450-50 isn't just about women getting more power.
00:47It's about everyone getting more power.
00:50It's about opening up the whole idea of what power is.
00:54If we want to experience a more equal world,
00:58we have to accelerate the pace of change.
01:00Maybe we've been telling the story of scarcity for so long,
01:03and maybe it's time we told a new story of abundance.
