00:00It's really not just about the outward beauty for me, it's when I'm feeling in
00:07the dark twisty place about treatment and what the future holds or doesn't hold.
00:13That affects how you feel about yourself and your self-image and your beauty too.
00:19My name is Marianne. I had 16 years of mammograms that never showed anything.
00:25I started when I was 30. Lo and behold, I had a different kind of breast cancer called lobular
00:31breast cancer, invasive lobular breast cancer. Nine and a half years passed, I thought I was good
00:37to go. It's not only bigger and badder in my liver after everything I've done, it's all over my bones
00:43and in both my lungs. I was always known for my mare hair and so when I lost my hair,
00:51you know,
00:52people would say to me, oh, it's just hair, it'll grow back. You don't get it. I mean,
00:56it's part of who I am. It's part of my identity and then having hair, I feel like I can
01:04stay anonymous
01:04in the community. Once you're bald, everybody knows. When I have my hair, I just feel a little
01:11more like me. And I think when I feel myself, I feel prettier. It really comes from strength and power
01:19and confidence and believing. And when you have that, you're beautiful. When you have that,
01:31you're the prettiest girl in the room. It's just going to radiate from you. And that power,
01:36I believe, is beauty.
