00:02Cancer doesn't discriminate. It could happen to anyone at any age at any time.
00:09It's important to keep on top of that.
00:14I'm Rebecca, I'm 35 and I'm from New York City.
00:17I was diagnosed stage 4 breast cancer six days before my 33rd birthday.
00:24Just randomly out of the blue, found a lump.
00:26I have cancer located in my breast and unfortunately in my brain.
00:31And still work full time, still live my life the best I can.
00:35Go out with my friends and enjoy every minute.
00:39Why go through all of this to save my life if I'm not living my life?
00:44This is my short hair debut.
00:46It's a very freeing, liberating feeling.
00:49It's great to have an intentional look and something that people walking down the street wouldn't necessarily think.
00:56of as a cancerous look.
00:58It's more like, hey, it's a girl with a cute, like, trendy pixie.
01:02People don't realize a lot of the struggle of being sort of invisibly sick.
01:08People will rush past me on the subway to get a seat that I really need.
01:12But I'm not going to be like, hey, get up, I need this seat.
01:15Sort of finding that balance of being a normal person versus expressing my needs as someone with metastatic breast cancer.
01:25To me, beauty is laughter.
01:28Stage 4 breast cancer patients tend to feel the gamut of emotions throughout the course of the day.
01:34So when you feel laughter, it's a moment of just pure joy and happiness.
01:39And you know it's coming from the right place.
01:43So to me, that is beauty.
01:44Bring your hands up early.
01:45On the right place.
