00:20We make our syrup in-house. Our shave ice is really fine and we have a lot of different
00:26hot beans as well. I would say we have the ice cream, it's vanilla ice cream, azuki beans
00:31which are red beans cooked in sugar, condensed milk, and mochi and I would say it tastes pretty good.
01:24We opened in
01:261951 and it was started by my grandparents Mamoru and Helen Mamoyo Matsumoto. My family is originally
01:33from Japan but they had a really hard time there so my grandpa and his brother actually came to
01:39Hawaii on a boat. Eventually my grandfather wanted to start his own business. It started off as a
01:43grocery store and eventually because this is a town where there's a lot of surfers,
01:48shave ice was really popular so that's why we started selling shave ice.
02:20We'll see you next time.
02:24My favorite flavors would have to be like tardy so I would say our tropical combination which is
02:30lily koi, passion fruit, guava, and papaya and I also like to top that with condensed milk
02:36which makes the perfect balance of like sweet and tardy.
02:45When you visit Hawaii and come to the North Shore please stop by Matsumoto shave ice. I'll be waiting.
