Transcript
00:00Hi, my name is Danielle Savory. Welcome to my temporary sweet digs. Come on in.
00:09So this is my three-bedroom house. I rent it with two other girls. I pay $1,700 and the
00:17other two pay $1,400 and $1,100.
00:19I think that's perfect for Los Angeles. I think the fact that we have a house actually makes it very
00:25reasonable that it's priced at that.
00:26I am an actress and I am currently filming the Grey's Anatomy spin-off Station 19.
00:31That takes up all of my time right now. That's why even though this is my house and I love
00:35it so much, most of my time is spent sleeping.
00:38I actually found this space while searching on Airbnb. It was furnished. It had all the big pieces.
00:43So then by the time we got here, we're like, okay, well now let's just make it feel like home.
00:51The first thing to do was coffee table books, blankets and candles. Those are like my three go-to's I
00:58would say.
00:58In my communal area, I love to smell baked goods. So right now I have an angel food and an
01:03oatmeal cookie candle burning.
01:05And it just smells so good when you walk in. And this is Melissa's bedroom.
01:10Me and Melissa lived in New York. We slept in the same bed for the three months we were there.
01:16And it was very interesting. We constantly argued about the air conditioner temperature.
01:22But beyond that, we had a great time and we just knew after that we were going to be friends
01:26for life.
01:27She's not here right now. She's the messy one. She is perfect at any other way.
01:31She keeps her mess just to her room, which is nice. Thank you, Melissa.
01:34We're going to walk into a Jack and Jill bathroom that both Amanda and Melissa share.
01:39I got them a candle for it and they had yet to light it. See if I can remember.
01:44Peony. That's not how you say that word, is it?
01:47Now through this door is Amanda's bedroom.
01:51Come on. Amanda's here about three to four days out of the week.
01:55She's actually going to school to be a physical therapist.
01:57And she actually, on days that she's not here, lives with her fiance in Ventura.
02:01Do you want to see me turn this couch into a bed? Okay, here we go.
02:09And there you go. It's like a queen size bed.
02:12The worst part of this apartment is the fact that I have to walk through Amanda's room to get to
02:17my room.
02:18I try to be as quiet as possible and luckily she is a very deep sleeper.
02:22So it seems to have worked out very well so far.
02:25And here is my bedroom.
02:28To make it my own I filled it with nice comfy blankets.
02:32I actually think that we have about 15 of these kind of blankets throughout the entire house.
02:37Over to the right I have a letter from the director David Nutter.
02:40Unfortunately I didn't get a job that he was directing but he wanted to let me know that it wasn't
02:47the last time he was going to be seeing me.
02:48And to never give up.
02:50It's a nice reminder that I've got a huge supporter out there even though I hope he remembers me.
02:56Hey David.
02:58Over here is one of my favorite places in the house.
03:02Come into my bathroom.
03:03It's like walking into heaven and it smells so good.
03:07It smells like roses.
03:08I wish you guys could smell it right now.
03:09I do like bathrooms to smell more floral.
03:12Oh my god I almost said fluorescent.
03:13That's the light.
03:14I love steaming up the room when I shower.
03:16It's kind of my thing.
03:17Some people hate that.
03:18Specifically my boyfriend.
03:20I just keep all of my face products right here.
03:22I actually zap my face with a high frequency machine.
03:27And it kills all bacteria.
03:29Okay.
03:29On to the communal dining room area.
03:33I've got to walk back through Amanda's room to get to the dining room.
03:36And here we are in the communal space.
03:39My favorite room in the house where all the fun and laughs happen.
03:42Over here a small selection of my coffee table books.
03:47I do have a coffee table book.
03:51Coffee book table?
03:52Coffee table book.
03:53I do have a slight coffee table book obsession.
03:56So these are a couple of them.
03:58I will eat dinner here and then I'll get some work done.
04:00When it starts to get really cold at night and we turn the heater on,
04:03I bundle up with some blankets.
04:04I can do everything that I want to do right here.
04:06Over here we go to the kitchen.
04:08With tons of counter space.
04:10Which I love when I get the chance to cook.
04:12So my love for chocolate is quite intense.
04:18I think while we've been filming this today I've already eaten like six pieces.
04:21Oh I want one so bad right now.
04:23I'm gonna have one.
04:23Do you guys want one?
04:25Oh my god.
04:26It's so good.
04:26The most expensive thing in my kitchen is actually my Ninja.
04:29It's roughly around 200 bucks.
04:31The Ninja is extremely important because I make my bulletproof coffee in it.
04:34We also make some great smoothies in it.
04:36By the way no one's paying me to say this.
04:38I just love the blender that much.
04:40I am definitely the mom in this house.
04:42I like things to be tidy and neat.
04:44Sometimes to a fault.
04:45But I do have a junk drawer.
04:47Oh my god I've been looking for this.
04:48What's that called?
04:49Like it tells you how drunk you are?
04:52Breathalizer!
04:57I'm not drunk.
04:58Goodbye junk drawer.
04:59Goodbye.
04:59And over here is the washer and dryer.
05:03With our lovely little sloth.
05:05I think he is so adorable.
05:08But Melissa now thinks he's starting to get a little creepy.
05:11I've been acting since I was seven years old.
05:13I loved being a bubbly hyper kid that played dress up.
05:17And then at 15 I graduated high school and made this my career.
05:20On Station 19 I play Maya Bishop.
05:23The show revolves around a fire house called Station 19.
05:26My own sister in real life is an LAFD firefighter.
05:30My character Maya drives a lot of the trucks and the engines and stuff.
05:33Well obviously I, Danielle, do not know how to do that.
05:35And so my sister comes on those days and she'll drive them and she looks so much like me
05:39that they're able to use that footage and pretend that it is me.
05:42And I get to see her a lot which is nice.
05:44I've had to learn over the years to really find ways of how to make a place feel like home
05:49within a short period of time.
05:51What I'm really proud of and happy of is that I was able to make this home in Los Angeles
05:55my home away from home.
05:56Specifically too because I'm finally able to live with two of my best friends.
05:59When we do get to sit around this table and catch up and laugh and have a glass of wine
06:04and eat chocolate, it couldn't be better than that.
06:07Have fun and see if you remember.
06:09You worked out like a
06:11Get the leg of this out lard castle said that.
06:11What you mean?
