00:00Be who you want to be because trying to change yourself to fit in so other people will like
00:07you is not going to bring you happiness at the end of the day.
00:10I'm a human so there's going to be flaws and I've just gotten comfortable with that and
00:14if you don't like it then I don't really care.
00:17What makeup means to me has really changed throughout the years.
00:20I used to wear it because I was trying to cover acne or just kind of be older than I
00:26was and now makeup for me is more about self-expression whatever I'm feeling that
00:32day just painting that on my face and owning that and I get to wash it off and
00:38do something entirely different the next day or that night depending on how busy
00:41I am. I would say what I have on right now is probably my go-to. I don't do like
00:47no
00:47makeup makeup. If I'm gonna put makeup on I'm gonna put makeup on and I have like
00:5025 pounds of it on so there's no in-between for me. For the most part I
00:54would say I feel pretty good without makeup. It's taken a while to kind of
00:57grow into that. When I am wearing it I tend to like scratch my face or like rub
01:01my eyebrow off and not even like realize that I'm wearing makeup so once it all
01:05comes off I just feel free again like I feel my face is naked I'm feeling really
01:11good when I take my makeup off. So we're gonna take off the makeup but first
01:15things first I got to take off any of the large costume jewelry that's gonna turn
01:18my fingers green. For the most part I will take a pre cleanse I'm gonna take the
01:22Dermalogica pre cleanse and when you put this on if you can see that it just
01:28melts the makeup off. I started using makeup when I was probably about eight
01:34years old. My mom always had tons of makeup laying around the house and I of
01:39course found it and she knew there was gonna be a problem I was like instantly
01:43obsessed. She never let me wear it out but she definitely would put it on me and
01:47we'd do like little makeovers and we'd take photos and it was a lot of fun.
01:55These days I just don't listen to beauty standards like whatever those are I kind
01:59of just do my own thing. I've had people tell me like oh how you did that like
02:03that's not how you're supposed to do it. It looks good to me and that's all I
02:06really care about. I always use a cleanser after I do the pre cleanse because
02:13inevitably there's more makeup on my face because I wear a lot of makeup so
02:17today I'm gonna be using the Murad exfoliating cleanser that's gonna be
02:20really good for me right now since I do have a bit of breakouts. Sometimes I am
02:25self-conscious about like for instance I have pretty small lips and I really like
02:29the look of larger lips so I do get my lips done. It's more so about how I feel
02:35and how I feel about the way that it looks. So the next step for me would be
02:40removing the residual makeup around the eyes. One of my favorite eye makeup
02:44removers is the NYX Eye and Lip Makeup Remover.
02:52Today I'm gonna be using the Dermalogica Biolumen C Serum. This is part of their
02:56Age Smart line. I like to use this to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. When I
03:03was younger I just got made fun of for a multitude of different things. It wasn't
03:07necessarily all about beauty. I didn't have a cool car. My parents didn't have
03:12enough money. I also had acne on my skin which I got made fun of as well. I would
03:16spend all of my Christmas money trying to buy the makeup that I wanted to get my
03:20hands on so I could kind of look a certain way and buy the cool branded
03:25clothing so I could fit in. But the truth is like once I did that I still was made
03:29fun of. So what I kind of realized was that you know you can change yourself to
03:34fit into society's little box of like who you should be or you can just be
03:40yourself. This is kind of the final step for me. This is about moisturizing. Today
03:46I'm gonna be using the Dermalogica Calm Water Gel. When I'm feeling insecure what I
03:52try and do is stop giving energy to negative thoughts and just remind myself
03:57about the things that I really do like about myself that I can be grateful for.
04:01Because what you think about you bring about and if you're sitting there
04:04thinking about you know all the things that you don't like about yourself
04:06you're just creating this giant snowball of negativity and bad thoughts
04:11and it's just not good for your soul. So I try my best to kind of just change my
04:17mindset and think about all the stuff that I am grateful for. Whenever I'm
04:23feeling you know insecure I kind of just look at myself and how capable I am as a
04:28human and how far I've come and just really focus on those positive things and
04:33it's not always about beauty in the way that you look it comes from within. Just
04:37loving yourself that is beautiful you know what you're passionate about and kind
04:41of doing that in life and if you feel good about what you're doing what you're
04:44putting out there into the world then that's really all that matters because
04:47the only person that can give you happiness is yourself.
