Plait love runs deep at Refinery29, so it's safe to say we've always got braids on the brain. But, with many of our staffers (and the world, if our Instagram feeds are any indication) recently engaged or about to tie the knot, we've got weddings in our heads, too.

00:08Hi, I'm Ben Skirbin, and I'm the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Ambassador, and I'm going to be
00:12showing you how to pin flowers into a beautiful braid. First step is, I'm going to put in a
00:16loose side parting, just using my finger to part the hair. So the first section we take
00:20for the braid is going to be in the front here. The braid is going to go along the bottom
00:24of the hair and come round and then sit on one side. So you split the front section into
00:29three, take the top section over the middle, and then that section under there. And then
00:33as you take another section from the top part down the side in a diagonal, then you add this
00:40section into that middle section, braid over, and then take your next section again, again
00:45adding into the middle hair, and just continuing this method all the way around the head. And
00:51then once you get to the end of your braid, take a small elastic and tie the end off. And
00:56once you've got the base in, you can then go through and break it up a little bit just
01:00using your fingers, just to make it a bit softer, make it a bit fatter as well, because
01:05then that's going to be a great base for when you want to go in and pin your flowers into
01:08place. I've picked really quite small little roses. I just go into the braid, and if you
01:15turn them upside down and push them in that way, so they're almost embedded into the braid.
01:21And then you take your bobby pin, and just secure the base of the flower into the braid.
01:28Also the thing is, not to overdo it, I think less is more with something like that, because
01:32you don't want it to look like a rose garden. And when you cut the flowers off, make sure
01:37that you leave a long enough stem. Also for me, I think it's really nice just to kind of
01:43focus on this area here, and not bring it round into this side, so it's just all concentrated
01:48there and then comes into the braid. So just in the front here, I'm going to use
01:52a little bit of the Vidal Sassoon Colourfinity Dry Shampoo. And what this does, it just helps
01:56to give the hair a little bit of guts, and hold it into place. So here we have our beautiful
02:02Bohemian Floral Braid. As festival seasons upon us, and you're getting bored of those crown
02:06braids, hopefully this is going to be something that you'll be rocking.
02:08I'll be safe and forever. In my heart, in my heart, in my heart, in my heart, in my heart.
