00:00Jewel tones are colors you would typically find in, duh, jewels.
00:03We're talking ruby, emerald, sapphire.
00:05You see them traditionally for fall, but for spring 15,
00:09we saw them on the runways.
00:10So today, I'm going to show you three ways
00:11to pull off jewel tones for spring, bit by bit,
00:14or in an all-over look.
00:27A good way to start trying out wearing jewel tones
00:30is to pair it with black and white.
00:31I've worked in just a little bit of jewel tone
00:33with this emerald stripe, which highlights the color
00:35without going overboard.
00:36And since it's just one color, it's not
00:38too crazy to wear to the office.
00:42So now I'm going to put together a second look that
00:44incorporates more jewel tone.
00:46I'm going to go for a bolder pant,
00:48but keep it paired down with a white top, a jewel tone bag,
00:51and, of course, we need heels.
00:53So for the second look, I've gone for two jewel tone pieces,
00:56one big piece and one small piece.
00:57I chose this citrine pant because I
00:59think it's a really great transitional piece
01:01to wear from the office to out later,
01:02and then a small piece with this garnet bag.
01:05You can just as easily work in jewel tone
01:07with makeup, like this garnet lipstick, which matches.
01:10Or you can go for jewel tone jewels.
01:12I could have just as easily chosen emeralds or amber
01:15necklaces.
01:16I just thought this kept it a little cleaner.
01:20So for the last look, I'm going all out.
01:22I'm going to go for a mesh sapphire top with a bright amber
01:26skirt and undershirt.
01:28And I'll choose some sandals to finish off the look.
01:31So the first and second look just
01:32had a bit of jewel tone in it.
01:34This is obviously bold on bold, sapphire on amber.
01:37It's a nice mix because the sapphire is a bit brighter, whereas the amber
01:41is a jewel tone that's more of the earth.
01:43And it's kind of unexpected, which creates a nice contrast,
01:46as does the athletic feel at the top and the dressier skirt
01:48on the bottom.
01:49This look is for someone that's mastered jewel tones
01:51and can color block for an entire outfit.
01:56Jewel tones never go out of style.
01:58So it's a fun way to start thinking about color
02:00and working it back into your wardrobe bit by bit
02:02or in an all over look so you can really feel like a royal.
