Of the many steps in our beauty routines, curling our eyelashes isn't a major one. Necessary, yes, but time consuming? Definitely not. So, this new lash curler by Murakami for Shu Uemura was a little bit counterintuitive upon first glance, since it takes more time to use than we're used to spending. The reason? It's tiny. No, it's not for a tiny eye. It's so that you can make sure each and every lash gets a curl. Rather than going in with one clamp and calling it a day, this lash curler requires multiple squeezes all around your lid.

00:07Hi, I'm Gabrielle with Refinery29, and today on Beauty Test Lab, I'm going to try out this
00:11new eyelash curler by Tekashi Murakami for Shu Uemura. So as you can see, it's a little bit
00:16smaller than most eyelash curlers, and the point of that is so that you can get the different parts
00:21of your eyelashes in sections, so that you can really like get in there to the corners and make
00:26your eyelashes pop. And it also has this fun little keychain on it, which I would not recommend as
00:31actually functional because the eyelash curler has silicone parts that come off, and it would be
00:36really sad to lose those. So the instructions say to rest this top part on my eyelid and then
00:41squeeze down and go gradually outwards on my eyelashes. Oh, it did something. While this
00:50worked really well, it took a little bit more time than I would have liked it to because I
00:56generally like to just go in with one clamp with my eyelash curlers and be done with it.
00:59But if you have a really thin lash line, I think that this would be really great because
01:05it helps you make sure each individual lash gets the love that it deserves. Or if you're
01:10a little bit more high maintenance or have a little bit more time to spend doing your eyelashes,
01:14then you can really get the details with this.
