00:19I'm going to mist my hair with Herbal Essences Tea Lightfully Clean Blow-Dry Prep Mist.
00:24You don't want to miss this step because it conditions your hair, and it protects your heat damage.
00:28Next, put a small amount of Set Me Up Extra Hold Moose in your hand.
00:32Work it throughout your hair, focusing more so on the roots.
00:37Now I'm going to blow-dry my hair.
00:38I'm going to use a Boar Bristle Paddle Brush to create volume and focus on the roots,
00:42but then making it more sleek on the ends.
00:45Now that your hair is dry, section away your crown and secure it with a clip.
00:49We'll come back to this step later.
00:51Take one side at a time and comb it back to the center of your head.
00:54Secure your hair by criss-crossing bobby pins.
00:57Kind of like making an X.
00:59Make sure to keep every strand in place with Set Me Up Medium Whole Hairspray.

01:11We're looking to create one or two inches of lift right at the root.
01:18So then we're going to smooth out the top section.
01:21Use a hair elastic to secure all of your hair at the nape of your neck.
01:25Now for a cool detail, I'm going to take a little piece of hair from the back of my ponytail,
01:30and I'm going to wrap it around the elastic and keep it in place with the bobby pin.
01:34The final touch?
01:36More hairspray, of course.
01:37Don't worry.
01:38It won't give you helmet head, but it will keep that sleek pony in place.
