00:00David, I want to ask you about Jordan Love because Jordan Love to me, he's just such a fascinating quarterback
00:06because I think I've told John this, but there are moments where I look at Jordan Love and I'm like,
00:11man, this guy's uber talented.
00:13He should be a top three quarterback in this league with how he plays sometimes.
00:17And then other times he throws a pick in the end zone like he did on Thursday night.
00:22And it's like, brother, did you not see the double coverage?
00:25Do you not see the safety come over from the top?
00:27Like it was clear as day.
00:29And I just don't know where I go with Jordan Love.
00:32Like, I don't know where I'm at with him and I need your help on figuring out where you're at
00:36with him.
00:37I mean, Grant, to answer your question, the answer is no.
00:41Did Jordan Love see the double coverage?
00:43No.
00:44Did Jordan Love see the safety stepping in?
00:47No.
00:47Did Jordan Love see the linebacker?
00:49No.
00:51He has this ability to forget how many players are on the defense.
00:56And he can go from, you're right, he looks like the reincarnation of Brett Favre, Bart Starr, Aaron Rodgers.
01:06And then he's Jameis Winston.
01:09Yeah.
01:09He, the problem isn't the talent.
01:12It's the inconsistency.
01:13Right.
01:13And I think that it's less about what he can do and more about what's up here.
01:20And it's hard because the Packers don't have a team that they can game manage.
01:27Right.
01:27We've seen many teams go far over the years on, I mean, even look at what the Vikings are doing.
01:34Obviously, it's not Kyler Murray that's leading them there, but they have a team that if you put the right
01:40quarterback in the right system, you can game manage.
01:45But here's another, but here's another thing, though.
01:49Sometimes you're just good and that's it.
01:53But sometimes, the next level, you just, you, like, Jared Goff's a good quarterback.
01:59Good.
02:00It's a level he will never, it's a level he will never get to because it's just not in the
02:05cards for him.
02:06Jordan Love may be that good.
02:08He may be able to put up great numbers, but he'll never really satisfy the taste that you are hoping
02:14that you could get out of him.
02:16I know that sounds crazy when I put it like that.
02:18I mean, you said it, not me, all right?
02:20I mean, my bad.
02:22Tim Parker, that's on me.
02:24That's on me, Tim.
02:25Tim would have been talking about salad, but.
02:27Yeah, that's on me.
02:29But I think that there are a couple of players, a couple of quarterbacks in this position that they're just
02:35not going to meet the moment at the level that you want them to.
02:39And we have to, at some point, let that go.
02:41Like, Jared Goff is what he is.
02:43I think Jordan Love is what he is.
02:45We've all accepted Jameis Winston as a great case study for this.
02:49Him and Geno Smith, we've accepted what they are.
02:52This is what they are.
02:53And we've moved on from it.
02:55Sam Darnold.
02:56We've accepted what he is.
02:57Sam Darnold.
02:58And we've moved on from it.
02:59And people keep expecting Jordan Love to hit another level.
03:03We've accepted what Dak Prescott is.
03:06It's true.
03:07I think we have by now.
03:09He's not going to another level.
03:12It doesn't matter what talent you put around him.
03:14The coach might make him go a little bit higher.
03:16But Dak is what he is at this point.
03:19And so, when we look around the league at some of these young guys coming in, we don't know how
03:24great Jaden Daniels can be.
03:26We don't know what's going to happen with Drake May.
03:28We're still in the dark about Bo Nix.
03:30We are kind of figuring out about Caleb Williams.
03:34I think we're getting – we're all getting to a consensus.
03:37I don't like it.
03:39But Brock Purdy's really good.
03:40And Trevor Lawrence, too.
03:41With the right set – Trevor Lawrence may actually be really good when you put him in the right setting
03:48like all quarterbacks.
03:49And so, I just don't think Jordan Love will ever surpass those guys when it comes to playing quarterback.
03:55Yeah, like David, you know, obviously, he's never – I don't think ever going to be an MVP-tier quarterback.
04:01But like I said, there's just moments, there's flashes where you do see that potential.
04:08You see it.
04:08And that's what's just so – I wouldn't even say frustrating to me because I don't have a rooting interest
04:13in the Packers.
04:14But like he also has some pretty darn good receivers.
04:17Like Matthew Golden's been good this year.
04:19Christian Watson was awesome until John thinks that he faked the hospital trip.
04:23But he's been really good this year.
04:25So, he circled the stadium in an ambulance.
04:28So, David, like really quick before we go on to the next segment.
04:31And we'll actually bring you back on for the next segment, too, to talk about the trade deadline.
04:34But do you think he's just a beneficiary of like the receivers at this point?
04:39Or is he just kind of good at times?
04:42Jordan Love being a beneficiary of his receivers is a sentence I never thought that I'd hear.
04:48I think no matter who you put around him, this is the first time really ever the Packers have had
04:56to game plan around a quarterback that wasn't everything.
