00:12So my question for you today, Bethany, is my hair is a little bit on the longer side. It can
00:15get a little bit boring.
00:16So I was thinking of maybe doing a ponytail look, but I wanted something a little bit more special. What
00:21do you think?
00:22I understand. I think there's a hundred different ways we can do a ponytail.
00:25And with just a couple extra steps, you can take a ponytail that's drab and boring and give it a
00:30chic update.
00:32So we're going to start by parting the hair around the peak of the eyebrow. This gives a really nice
00:38part.
00:41You can do it with your fingers just to get a more natural feeling to the part.
00:47Now we're going to take about an orange sized ball of mousse.
00:52So now we lightly take a little bit of the mousse and scrape it around the surface of the hair,
00:59focusing on the part and just the edges where they might get frizzy.
01:09So now we're going to take the remainder of the mousse with two hands and move it by scrunching around
01:17the face.
01:18So now we're going to take the blow dryer on a hot setting and low speed.
01:23Collect the hair in that scrunching motion again and bring it up towards your face, using the blow dryer from
01:31underneath to give volume and to get the mousse to stay.
01:35We're going to create a shape around the face with the hair, giving a wavy, romantic texture.
01:43So now that we have a nice face framing wave, we're going to collect the hair, combing with our fingertips
01:50into a side ponytail.
01:52Make sure not to disrupt the front, but just collect the back.
01:59We're just going to tie loosely with an elastic.
02:04For the final touch, we're just going to tug on the hair around the crown to give it a little
02:09volume.
02:15And there's your chic updated ponytail.
