00:05who's going to be the next quarterback. Is it Luke Fahey? Is it Tavian St.
00:09Claire? You know, Tavian has all these attributes. You know,
00:13why was the Fahey, the one that went in and we're diagramming all that and
00:16talking through it all. But in the midst of all of these things,
00:19I always like to go to the betting markets and to see exactly what they're
00:25telling us, because people can make these predictions.
00:28They can talk about stuff and like, well, I like this team.
00:31I like that team. And I like this game. I like that game.
00:34But are you going to put your money where your mouth is?
00:37And right now, given the, where we're at in college football,
00:43this went to one of the betting sites popped up for me.
00:46Fan duel. It doesn't matter. Go pick yours.
00:48I chucked a couple of others just because I thought I was broken to make sure.
00:54But Ohio state was the odds on favorite at one of the other ones.
00:57I saw the Fandu's got Georgia plus four 70 Ohio state plus 500 tied with
01:03Notre Dame.
01:05Tim, like that you lose your starting quarterback,
01:08which we become accustomed to.
01:11Like that's the only position that really impacts the spread.
01:14And you're going to a true freshman and Ohio state is still within the margin of
01:21error.
01:22The favorite to potentially win the national championship when they have USC,
01:26they have Oregon, a ranked Northwestern and a Braska team that's decent and a
01:30Michigan team that may have found something with Tommy car.
01:34I'm not, there's people coming out saying they won't even make the playoff.
01:38And there's still the odds.
01:40One of the, one of the odds on favorites, if not,
01:43maybe the odds on favorite is some books to win.
01:45Explain that to me.
01:47Well, I mean, who's it going to be, you know,
01:49it's funny because before we knew the official diagnosis of saying,
01:54and we all knew he was going to be out,
01:55but we didn't know it would be more than likely the rest of the year.
01:59I put out a tweet on Sunday or Monday pointing out four different sports
02:04books and three of them had Notre Dame as the betting favorite to win the
02:08national title.
02:09And as you would imagine off of their loss at BYU and being as polarizing as
02:13they are, it was a, it was a, this is a mistake.
02:17And I'm like, I wouldn't bet it,
02:19but who is supposed to be the betting favorite to win the title right now?
02:23Let's run through it.
02:24Georgia just lost as a 19 point favorite at home to Auburn.
02:29I would have Georgia as an ever so slight favorite,
02:31but you look at Notre Dame,
02:34they look like they have some warts and some issues.
02:37You lose on the road as a 10 and a half point favorite to BYU.
02:40And then we go down the list, as you pointed out,
02:43Ohio state loses their starting quarterback,
02:45but still has a ton of talent on that roster.
02:48Also running back room is, is banged up.
02:51Offensive line has been a little bit banged up.
02:54Indiana lost at home to Ohio state.
02:56It was by a, a footstep, but still lost that game at home.
03:01You look at Miami.
03:02Okay.
03:03Miami won, but they also need a double overtime,
03:06a fortunate holding call that went their way against the Florida state team.
03:11Guys, that's going to have to scratch and claw to get to a bowl game.
03:14So you just kind of look around this year.
03:16Where you're like, I don't know, right?
03:18Alabama got exposed this past week.
03:20And when they went on the road to Tennessee and lost that game.
03:24So they now have two losses like Ole Miss.
03:27Okay.
03:27I think Ole Miss is good, but you know,
03:30you look at the point spread this week and I'm sure we'll get into it.
03:33That line is kind of spooky, right?
03:35They're an underdog at Texas at night, and they could be looking at two losses.
03:40You know,
03:40I've talked to a bunch of people that I respect their opinion on, you know,
03:44power ratings and whatnot, and they're kind of buying in a rise of LSU.
03:48Okay.
03:49I can listen to it, but LSU has two losses.
03:52Their schedule in November is very challenging.
03:54So there's a reality that LSU doesn't make the playoff.
03:58It's, it's fun to talk about.
04:00And when you look at the betting board to your point, Bobby,
04:03bringing it back to Ohio state,
04:05I know that you guys are locked in on the Buckeyes and I'm more of a
04:08peripheral from out here, but even with Fahey or St.
04:12Clair, who it may be, you know,
04:14you still have to have them up there because of the talent that's on that
04:17roster.
04:18And just the rest of the country is in a collective kind of shoulder shrug of
04:22like, I don't know, you know, what's going to happen here.
04:24I mean,
04:25is there a reality guys that we could see three big 12 teams make the college
04:29football playoff?
04:30I don't think so, but it's not impossible.
04:32What if Utah beats BYU,
04:35BYU is 11 and one guys with a win over Notre Dame.
04:38Utah loses the big 12 championship to an undefeated Texas tech or something
04:43like that.
04:44Like there are crazy scenarios.
04:46And I think that's what makes it fun.
04:47Like this year it's chaotic and it also makes it a lot of,
04:51a little fascinating.
04:52One last thing I wanted to point out to you guys, because Bobby,
04:55I thought when you came on beast in primetime Tuesday night,
04:57I thought you made some good points.
04:59Like, Hey, Julian saying was a Heisman finalist.
05:02Like I do think there's a collective nationally.
05:05And I don't know where you guys are at nationally.
05:08I feel like there's a collective,
05:09like it's not that big a deal.
05:11You know,
05:12he they'll be fine.
05:13It's Ohio state.
05:14I did have one odds maker on last night from draft Kings who said he dropped
05:18Ohio state in his personal power ratings,
05:21four and a half points as of now,
05:23because of the loss of Julian saying,
05:25so that's just one man's opinion.
05:26That's not the whole betting market,
05:28but that's a guy who,
05:29you know,
05:30makes lines and his number came down four and a half points with the loss of
05:34Julian saying.
