00:00More wet weather and the return of severe weather next week across the Southern Plains states.
00:08We begin with an enormous amount of energy off the west coast of the United States for this time of
00:14the year.
00:14You have that upper low off the northwest coast and a very strong jet stream.
00:20Now, look at all that tropical moisture coming on in toward the southwest and into Texas.
00:24Well, that moisture continues to feed in.
00:27And then as we head into early next week, that upper low goes all the way across the west Texas
00:33and the Southern Plains states.
00:35You have a powerful jet stream.
00:37You have the warmth.
00:38You have the humidity.
00:40And you have showers and thunderstorms.
00:42In fact, we're looking at severe weather, at least some severe weather.
00:47That means spotty severe storms on Monday from near Kansas City all the way down towards San Antonio.
00:53And not only are we concerned about damaging winds and flooding rain, but there is a risk for at least
00:59isolated tornadoes.
01:01The showers and thunderstorms then continue their move to the east as we move into Tuesday and Wednesday.
01:09And once again, there will be the potential for at least some severe weather both days.
