00:00how to redact a PDF on an iPhone. So there is no built-in way to redact a PDF on
00:04our iPhone.
00:05You can draw over it, but there is a chance that that data may be recoverable when you send the
00:11PDF or if someone downloads it. So the tool that I recommend to redact a PDF on your iPhone is
00:17going to be pdfgadget.com. And full disclosure, I created pdfgadget.com because I wanted to be
00:22able to recommend a tool that doesn't require you to upload your PDFs to a server. All the tools on
00:26this website work directly in the browser on your iPhone. It also works on other devices such as
00:30Android, computers, things like that. Check the description. I'll have a link down there. Once
00:34you get to pdfgadget.com, just select more tools and then just find redact PDF right there under
00:40edit. Once you get to redact PDF, it's going to give you a quick warning that this does permanently
00:45remove the data that you redact from the PDF. So it's not going to be recoverable and that's just
00:50something you should know. Once you get here, just tap this box, find and select the PDF that you want
00:55to redact and then it will load the PDF pages right here. So now all we need to do is
01:00simply drag where
01:01we want the box to be. So it'll give you a quick example. If you mess up, select undo. You
01:07can also
01:07select clear and that will clear all the redactions for that page. So you just need to zoom in and
01:13make
01:14sure that you get the part that you want and then you can go to another page and you can
01:19redact a section
01:20of it right there as well. So after that, once you've made your redactions, select the output
01:25quality. And if you're trying to send this somewhere or you're worried about the size, select balance or
01:31smaller file. But if you're not, you can select maximum quality. I'm just going to go ahead and
01:36use balance and then select download redacted PDF. It's going to process it and then it will open up
01:41the PDF right here where you can see it is now redacted. Now on an iPhone, it'll just open it
01:47up and
01:47show you an example. To save it, we need to select these lines down here and then select share.
01:52After that, scroll down and select save to files. Then just give it a name and then select save.
02:01So now when I open up the files app, I can see the redacted PDF right there. And there we
02:05go.
02:06I can open it up. I can share it. And this data is now redacted and it can't be recovered.
