00:07What we saw today was the continuation of a profoundly concerning course of conduct.
00:15It's eminently clear from all of the evidence in the record, from everything we've seen so far,
00:22that there is a final plan to build a monstrous golf course in the historic East Potomac Park
00:35on top of toxic dirt and debris dumped from the illegal destruction of the East Wing of the White House.
00:44The plan has not been honestly represented, in our view, by the government.
00:52The judge is troubled, and rightly so, by these misrepresentations that appear to have been made
01:04and has appointed a special master to look into the matter.
01:09It's an extraordinary course of conduct, but it's part of a larger pattern by this administration
01:17that we see in case after case of dissimulation.
01:21So we and our fantastic partners at Democracy Forward, Lowell & Associates,
01:28are going to continue to press forward to put a stop to this illegal destruction of East Potomac Park.
01:37How often does a judge call for this kind of investigation at the court?
01:42I have not heard of it before.
01:44It does happen.
01:46We just had a special master appointed in Los Angeles.
01:50I was there in court in our case where we successfully shut down the Department of Justice request for a

01:59to enforce their junk list of 20,000 supposed unauthorized voters.
02:05There, the court also appointed a special master to probe the conduct involved in constructing that inaccurate list.
02:18But it's very rare, and it is an ominous sign for the United States that the judge is appointing somebody
02:29to look into these profoundly troubling questions,
02:33including the accuracy or inaccuracy of what the United States has been saying in its filings and to the court.
02:42If the investigation does find misconduct, is that when we could see contempt for proceedings?
02:48Well, I'm not going to get out in front of the judge.
02:50We're going to have a special master.
02:52We are going to continue to vigorously litigate the case with our partners on behalf of our clients.
02:58We believe that everything that is happening with respect to East Potomac Park is illegal.

03:38I succeeded in this same courthouse in getting Donald Trump's name stripped from the Kennedy Center,
03:47proudly represented, an American hero, three-time Olympian, many-time world champion Davey Hearn.
03:54He was wrongly blamed, criminally prosecuted, an innocent man to scapegoat for the Trump administration's failures
04:02and a rushed, botched renovation of the reflecting pool.
04:09And we've seen this again, this pattern again and again.
04:12Now the special master is going to probe what went wrong here.
04:17And that's a welcome development.
