00:00Welcome back. In the United States, with three days to go before the mid-term elections,
00:04voters are demanding lower prices and end to the war in Iran, greater guarantees for health care,
00:10and more accountability from Washington. Our correspondent Dan Albright has more details.
00:16Yeah, thank you. Three days to go before the midterms. As voters will decide who controls
00:22Congress, we're also seeing some signs of what they expect Congress to do in this next term.
00:27The clearest demand is definitely around high prices. Voters want relief. This frustration
00:33is cutting across party lines. About seven in ten want Congress to prioritize ending the war in Iran.
00:41Majorities want Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security protected or expanded. Most voters say
00:47immigration enforcement has gone too far. There's pressure for stronger oversight of ICE and
00:53government spending. Greater transparency around the Epstein files still cutting across party lines.
01:00On foreign policy, support for Israel has fallen sharply. A majority now favors reducing or ending
01:06U.S. military aid. Many in Trump's MAGA base have been disappointed by what they see as Trump
01:12reneging on his promise to stop getting the U.S. entangled in foreign wars. Increasingly, voters
01:18across parties want Washington to put some limits on the rapid rise of AI, protecting jobs and
01:25communities as data centers and automation expand. Across party lines, voters also want less influence
01:32from billionaires and big donors, with overwhelming majorities saying corruption is a serious problem
01:38and supporting tighter limits on money and politics. As for the outcome, most voters expect Democrats
01:44to take the House while expectations for the Senate are more evenly divided. So overall, voters are looking
01:51for some concrete action, lower costs, less corruption, an end to war, more focus on relief for the
01:57domestic population, protection for health care and social programs, and more accountability from
02:05Washington. From Boston, Dan Albright, Telesaur. Back to you.
