00:12so I'm James I'm 20 I'm a third year student at the London School of Economics and I'm doing a
00:20degree in financial mathematics and statistics and I'm in my final year now and so I'm looking
00:26to graduate in June of 2027 and after that I want to go work in finance for a bit hopefully
00:34get some
00:34experience in the private sector and then long term we'll see where we go from there
00:43lots of lots of benefits so I've gained a lot of experience in in discussing political issues
00:49and it gives me opportunity to to understand issues about my own country in a lot more detail a lot
00:55more depth and I also get to listen to people from all around the world speak about political
01:01issues and countries that I have very little knowledge about so that's given me a lot more
01:05knowledge about international politics and geopolitics and I've also had the opportunity
01:11to work on international studies such as the election integrity report last year and that
01:18was a great experience and I learned I learned a lot from that I've also made a lot of great
01:22connections with people who are very experienced and have done have had a lot of success in their
01:27life and I can learn a lot from them and then of course earlier this year I had the opportunity
01:31to
01:31go to Chicago and to speak at the Myers report international conference and that was a great
01:37experience as well so there really there really is quite a lot that I've been able to do and I've
01:41been
01:41able to to learn from from from being involved with the Myers report over the last two years
01:51yeah I mean like when when you're constantly discussing and debating political issues with
01:56very intelligent and experienced people then that's naturally gonna improve the way that you
02:03can view and dissect political arguments so anyone is wanting that to improve their critical thinking
02:08skills and this is definitely a mechanism by which you can do that
02:17yeah definitely I think when you become more educated and informed on a topic you're able to
02:24speak with a lot more confidence and authority on said topic regardless of who you're speaking to
02:29and because you have more more faith in your own ability and your own knowledge and that's naturally
02:34going to translate into the way that you convey your your your thoughts and and your positions
02:44uh yes yes always definitely yeah no I mean definitely I mean there's there's a lot of people
02:50who have a lot more experience than me um but that's not not that fact does not necessarily compromise
02:55the extent to which they've they've shown me respect and given me opportunities and and viewed me
03:00in many ways as as an equal so definitely I have I've been I've been I've been I've been viewed
03:06with
03:06with with a lot of respect and and I do appreciate that
03:14um definitely I think I think there's a lot of opportunity there and there's a lot of value
03:19from from being involved with the Myers report and having exposure and to lots of really interesting
03:25people um and if anyone is you know starting university and they want to get involved with
03:31and with with politics or or being just more politically aware and then I definitely recommend
03:36them to get involved with with the Myers report
03:39to get involved with the Myers report
03:40you
