03:33If you have questions
03:34Concerns
03:35Something you want me to touch on
03:36In a future episode
03:37There's two ways to do that
03:38One
03:38Takes a little longer
03:40But it works
03:40Is the For Wrestling Sound Offline
03:42267-642-1160
03:44And I'll get to those questions
03:45And concerns
03:46In a future episode
03:47Whereas
03:47If you'd like to get in touch
03:49With me faster than that
03:50Like, share, subscribe
03:52And most importantly
03:52Comment
03:54Gotta be the comment
03:55In whatever social media platform
03:56You're streaming our show through
03:57And those comments
03:58Come straight to me
03:59And then I can respond to you
04:00In real time
04:01And it's a much faster
04:02More expedited way
04:03For me to get in touch with you
04:05About the questions that you have
04:06Or
04:07Like I had this week
04:08Some really great comments
04:10On some of the episodes
04:10And I love to pin
04:12Like
04:12And boost
04:14Your responses
04:15Because
04:16You guys are the ones
04:17Who make this show go round
04:18So your insight
04:19Your perspective
04:20Is incredibly valuable to me
04:21And one last thing
04:22Just want to say thank you
04:23To the active listeners
04:25People who tune in
04:25Every single episode
04:26September and October
04:27Have been two of the busiest months
04:29In the history
04:30Of the For Wrestling Podcast
04:3114 years doing this
04:33And this was the biggest two months
04:35I have ever seen
04:36Thank you
04:36Thank you
04:36Thank you
04:37For anybody who has supported the show
04:38No matter how much
04:39Or how little
04:40Across that time frame
04:41And all 14 years
04:42I appreciate each and every one of you
04:44So let's get into
04:45Today's conversation
04:46We are talking about
04:47Enzo Amore
04:48He has had conversations
04:50With WWE
04:51And according to Fightful
04:52They have said that
04:53He is having talks
04:54With WWE
04:55He is very interested
04:56In returning to the company
04:57But has not signed
04:58Any kind of contract
04:59WWE hasn't confirmed
05:00Any plans
05:01They certainly haven't
05:02Thought of any
05:02Or at least
05:03Haven't publicized anything
05:05Relating to him
05:06Joining the company
05:06And reuniting with
05:07Big Cass
05:08And the theory
05:10According to
05:11Their report
05:12Was that
05:13If they were going to
05:13Bring Amore
05:14In after Cass
05:16It would be very unusual
05:17Since the reverse order
05:19Would have made more sense
05:20Amore
05:20Super over with the fans
05:21Great on the microphone
05:23Could have really got
05:24Some things going
05:24And then Cass
05:25Comes in as the muscle
05:26Whereas this is very much
05:27The opposite
05:28Cass came in
05:28And he really
05:30He's been booked
05:30As a low mid carter
05:31I mean he's lost
05:32To some really
05:33You know
05:33Relatively smaller guys
05:35The Dragon Lees
05:36Of the world
05:36And stuff like that
05:37Not that Dragon Lees
05:38Is not a worthy opponent
05:39But if you're trying
05:40To establish Cass
05:41As a main level player
05:42This would not be
05:42The way to do it
05:43At this point though
05:45I will say this
05:45It makes a lot of sense
05:47In my opinion
05:48To consider bringing
05:49Enzo in at this point
05:51Because the Cass experiment
05:52Is not
05:53It's not bearing
05:54A lot of fruit right now
05:55It's not
05:56And it's not his fault
05:57I don't blame Cass at all
05:58I think the matches
06:00He's putting on
06:00Are about as good
06:01As they've ever been
06:02For him
06:02He's doing great work
06:03In the ring
06:04He's willing to work
06:05With anybody
06:05Put anybody over
06:06Do anything the company
06:08Is asking him to do
06:08There is some flirtation
06:10Here with he and Ethan Page
06:11And I did see
06:12Which I thought
06:13Was really interesting
06:14A short online
06:16Where they were
06:17Talking to Rusev
06:18About WWE
06:18Potentially planning
06:19On putting Rusev
06:20Big Cass
06:21And Ethan Page
06:21Together as a faction
06:23And Rusev saying
06:24He wasn't interested
06:24In that
06:26I don't know how
06:26I feel about that
06:27As a faction
06:27I'd much rather
06:28Have Enzo
06:29Be there
06:29I actually would
06:30Rather Rusev
06:31Goes back to Rusev Day
06:32I really would
06:32Re-sign Lana
06:34Have them come out
06:35And just do Rusev Day
06:36The fans want it
06:37You want it
06:37I want it
06:37We all want it
06:38Make that happen
06:39I think it would
06:40Make him a more
06:40Legitimate challenger
06:41To begin with
06:41And be a babyface
06:43Which I don't think
06:44Is a bad thing
06:44I really don't
06:45Not in Rusev's case
06:46I think he's really
06:46Found a way
06:47To connect with fans
06:48On a level
06:49That's very organic
06:50We reported earlier
06:51In the week
06:52That AEW
06:52Was planning
06:53To host a
06:54January 1st
06:55New Year's Day
06:55Special broadcast
06:57New Year's Smash
06:58That would be
06:59Competing against
07:00Smackdown
07:00Now the word
07:01Has come out
07:02That that is
07:02No longer
07:03Going to be the case
07:03They're still
07:04Going to have the show
07:05But that the
07:06AEW episode
07:07New Year's Smash
07:08Is going to take place
07:09Directly following
07:10A college football game
07:12With a start time
07:13Between 3.30 and 4 o'clock
07:15Eastern time
07:16Which also means
07:17And this is courtesy
07:17Of Dave Meltzer
07:18That the program
07:19Would finish
07:20Before Smackdown
07:21Begins its usual
07:22Friday night time slot
07:23So there will be
07:24No direct competition
07:25Now in retrospect
07:27I actually wish
07:28There was direct
07:29Competition for two
07:30Reasons
07:30One of two things
07:31Would have happened
07:32Either Smackdown
07:33Completely crushes
07:34And destroys
07:36AEW
07:36And we really get
07:37A firm understanding
07:38Of where the power
07:39Lies
07:40Even though I think
07:40Most of us know
07:42Or
07:42AEW would have
07:43Performed incredibly
07:44Well against
07:45Smackdown
07:46And that would have
07:47Told executives
07:48And TV companies
07:49Next time they negotiate
07:50Their media rights deal
07:50That they have something
07:52They can directly compete
07:53With WWE's main roster
07:54Not NXT
07:55But their main level show
07:57So I was kind of
07:58Looking forward to that
07:58Even though I was
07:59A little disappointed
08:00That it's going to be
08:00A taped Smackdown show
08:01Instead of a live
08:02Head to head thing
08:03But now
08:03They're not going
08:04Head to head at all
08:05We'll still get
08:05The taped Smackdown show
08:06We'll get the live
08:07AEW show
08:08But it'll be earlier
08:09In the day
08:09So I honestly think
08:11WWE might be the ones
08:12Who just dodged a bullet
08:13Because I think
08:15If you put the two of those
08:16Head to head
08:16On New Year's Day
08:17People are going to be
08:18Looking for great
08:19Wrestling action
08:20I don't think
08:21They're going to be
08:21Looking for as much
08:22Storytelling on New Year's Day
08:23I think they want the action
08:24You know
08:25Everybody's high tempo
08:26High energy
08:27Ready to party
08:27On New Year's Day
08:28And I think
08:29That would have been
08:29A win for AEW
08:31Not necessarily
08:33More viewers
08:33I don't think
08:34They were going to get
08:34You know
08:35Four million views
08:36But I do think
08:37They would have taken
08:38A substantial amount
08:39Of the viewing audience
08:39From Smackdown
08:41Smackdown still would have
08:41Won the ratings
08:42But I still think
08:43They would have taken
08:43Enough from them
08:44That it would have been
08:45A clear sign
08:46Of what could
08:48Potentially be
08:48In the future
08:49Another report
08:50Came out
08:51About Bayley
08:52Her future
08:52With the WWE
08:53Wrestling Observer Radio
08:54Again Dave Meltzer
08:55Addressing the possibility
08:57Of Bayley
08:58Making a transition
08:59To NXT
09:00We did put out
09:01A short clip
09:01Earlier today
09:02That that conversation
09:03Has taken place
09:04In other places
09:05As well
09:05Where CM Punk
09:06Bayley
09:07And AJ Styles
09:08Are pretty much
09:08In line
09:09To potentially
09:09Be the ones
09:10To take over
09:10NXT
09:11That AJ Styles
09:12Apparently has
09:13Already been
09:13Starting to take over
09:14Some of the NXT
09:15Role from Shawn Michaels
09:16As Shawn Michaels
09:17Begins to prepare
09:18To replace Bruce Prichard
09:19But the thing is
09:21Is this report
09:22From Dave Meltzer
09:23Is talking about
09:24The fact that
09:24They don't see
09:25Bayley as a
09:26Main event
09:26Top four female
09:28Star in the company
09:28Anymore
09:29And that her role
09:30If she were to stay
09:31In WWE
09:31Would basically
09:32To get young talent
09:33Over
09:33And not that
09:34She'd be opposed to that
09:35She's done a magnificent
09:36Job with Lyra Valkyria
09:39But how many times
09:40Does she want to do that
09:40We have Natalya already
09:42We don't need somebody
09:43Else doing the same
09:43Thing that Natalya does
09:44And her contract
09:46Is indeed coming up
09:47It is going to be over
09:48Is she going to want
09:49To make the jump
09:50To AEW
09:51And have some
09:51Premium matches
09:52Where she would
09:53Immediately become
09:54A top talent in AEW
09:55Make no question about it
09:56She would make a ton
09:57Of money in AEW
09:58But if she goes to AEW
10:00Does she shoot herself
10:01In the foot
10:02At one of those
10:02Long term
10:03Maybe lifelong jobs
10:05As a producer
10:06And agent for NXT
10:07And eventually
10:08Maybe even the main roster
10:10Booking for the women's division
10:11Or something of that nature
10:12If she did really well
10:14At the NXT level
10:14I don't know
10:15But I don't know
10:16How Bayley's going to play this
10:18Now Dave Meltzer
10:19Makes it clear
10:20That you know
10:20There is still
10:21He thinks it's unlikely
10:22She's going to leave
10:23WWE for AEW
10:23But there's definitely
10:24No certainty
10:25About what her next move
10:26Is going to be
10:27I'm sure WWE
10:28Is going to make a strong
10:29Push to keep her
10:30In the capacity
10:30That they do see her at
10:32But as a main event star
10:33I don't see that
10:34Being the possibility
10:35And if that's not
10:35The possibility
10:36The money may not be there
10:37To deter her
10:39From an AEW run
10:40Speaking of AEW
10:41This one kind of
10:42Shocked me today
10:43But Jake the Snake Roberts
10:46Was doing an interview
10:48For Nick Todoro's
10:49Nick Club Wrestling
10:50Happy Hour podcast
10:51And he updated his status
10:54In the world
10:54Of professional wrestling
10:55And Jake the Snake Roberts
10:57Is no longer
10:58With All Elite Wrestling
10:59He had mentioned
10:59That he had wrapped up
11:01His time with AEW
11:02Earlier this year
11:03He ran there
11:04From 2019 to 2026
11:07But we know
11:08That his contract
11:10Had wrapped up
11:11Sometime over the summertime
11:12And that now
11:13He finally confirmed
11:15That he has re-signed
11:17With WWE
11:18Now they didn't
11:19Distinguish what his
11:20Role with WWE is
11:21But the way he phrased
11:23It was he said
11:23I'm staying busy
11:24Not with AEW anymore
11:26I've re-signed with WWE
11:27Doing some stuff for them
11:28And just enjoying life
11:30He didn't disclose
11:31The details about
11:32What he's doing
11:33What the agreement is
11:34What his responsibilities are
11:35But it does confirm
11:37That he is once again
11:38Working with WWE
11:39He is no longer
11:40With AEW
11:40And if you think
11:43About Jake Roberts
11:44And all the things
11:44He's wanted to contribute
11:45Over the years
11:46He has always wanted
11:47To be a part
11:48Of the creative process
11:49Perhaps that's
11:50What he's doing now
11:51Maybe he's in creative
11:52In some way
11:53Shape or form
11:53Maybe as a consultant
11:54Maybe he's doing
11:55Some agent work
11:56I don't know
11:57But I honestly think
11:59That's a big get
12:00For WWE
12:00I think that's a big loss
12:02For AEW
12:03If they didn't maximize
12:04His creative thought process
12:05And really take to heart
12:07The things that he brought
12:08To the table
12:09I understand
12:09Obviously he's not
12:10An in-ring performer anymore
12:11But I thought he did
12:12Good things
12:13For Lance Archer
12:14And things of that nature
12:15I think he could have
12:16Done even more
12:17They just never really
12:18Put him in that position
12:19And now
12:19If you've seen Jake
12:20At some of the conventions
12:21And things like that
12:22You know he does
12:22Have it like oxygen tanks
12:24Happily he's back
12:25With his wife
12:25From the past
12:26Cheryl Roberts
12:27He's got some
12:28Really interesting things
12:29Going in his life
12:29Some medical things
12:30That are a little more challenging
12:31Some beautiful things
12:33That make his life
12:33Really fulfilling
12:34If going back to WWE
12:35Really does make him
12:37That happy
12:37More power to him
12:39Congratulations Jake Roberts
12:40On following through
12:41On going back
12:42Where you made
12:43Your biggest impact
12:44In the world
