00:045 begins here with Robinson
00:07He starts out this drive with a nice gain of 8, 7 down
00:10Now you take these types of results as early wins in a game, Brock
00:14Both in getting their running back started and getting your guys to start winning that battle up front too
00:18Moving a man against his will and doing it right from the jump
00:22That often portends to good things offensively
00:25After that little 8-yard scoops, here comes 2nd and 2
00:34A toss now, a Robinson
00:37He's going to be 4th down there, played games about 7
00:40And that is good for an Atlanta 1st down
00:42That's what I call a healthy return on investment
00:45To run the toss play, looking for positive yards, looking to move the sticks
00:49I'm looking for that to be called again
00:531st and 10 from the 43
01:00Going play action, Sangamailoa
01:03Catches May down the right sideline
01:06And he gets home
01:08Touchdown, Atlanta
01:11A quick 2nd score for him Brock already
01:14And we aren't even out of this opening quarter yet
01:16I think I just saw that D coordinator rip up his game play down the sidelines
01:21Because you've got to find some new resources here
01:23You've got to dedicate more bodies, more physicality to this playmaker
01:27Because we know in this league
01:28When you get a guy going like this
01:30They're going to go to him until you stop him
01:44Full card now to try the point after
01:51This one splits the uprights, it is good
01:54And our score, 14-7 now here in the 1st
01:5714
02:1515-7
02:26It's all lined up
02:28And we're ready for another offensive possession
02:31And after watching their passing attack
02:33Take them the length of the field last drive, Brock
02:35I expect we're probably going to see a heavy dose of the aerial attack again here
02:52All right, Denver getting everybody set
02:54So they've got 1st and 10
02:59Keeping it himself to begin this series
03:02He cuts it to the right sideline
03:04Finds a lane and finds 20 yards
03:07Great work on that keeper
03:08That's a 1st down
03:10One thing I just marvel at about the QB of this era, Kate
03:13Is just how good they are in these situations
03:15These zone reads
03:16Their ball handling to play action
03:18The movement and then the explosiveness
03:20To go get a big run off of it
03:22That is just awesome
03:271st will get here to Belvitz
03:29And he dodged the tackle
03:30There's the South
03:31Play hits for 15 to 4
03:34That's going to be 1st down Denver
03:35Well, he's got his early highlights, Brock
03:38But you know he wants to add a few more to that reel before this game wraps up
03:42There's no question about that
03:44And if you want to get that century, Mark, that's a number that running backs are proud of
03:47And stack of runs like that will sure help
03:55So fresh set of downs now from the 39
04:02They bring Sutton in motion left
04:09First down and they go right back to him
04:12And he goes after a pickup of about 12 yards
04:15Now the Broncos have a new set of downs
04:17They could not have asked for a better start to this drive
04:20Brock, 3 plays in
04:21Everyone has gone for a 1st down
04:23And there's no answers coming from this defense
04:25We talk about getting into a rhythm
04:28I mean, this is much more than that
04:29It is an explosive takedown right now
04:35Here's Harvey running from his own read
04:38So call it a half dozen on that run, Brock
04:40It's 2nd down
04:41Some backs are easier to tackle than others
04:43Some, well, they just choose violence
04:45They look for those opportunities to bust through tackles
04:48And keep those legs pumping
04:54First down run, gets him 6
04:56So now it is 2nd and 4
05:00Harvey, once more
05:02Nothing doing on 2nd
05:03They get to him behind the line
05:04Now it's going to be 3rd and longer
05:06Man, some of these middle backers are so impressive these days
05:09Brock, no problems at all
05:10Bring the range downhill and cut that play down behind the line
05:13Kind of the call card of the position played today
05:15They're not as big as they once were, but boy, can they run
05:18As you said, whether it's downhill or sideline to sideline like that
05:24Now Nick's on 3rd down
05:28Trying to get away from the pressure
05:30But he can't, and they drop it
05:33Mason Smith
05:34And now it is 4th down and 7th
05:37Opened in frame of the game
05:38And 2 times already
05:39These defenders have got home for a home run sack
05:42They get their way
05:43A lot more teammates are going to join them on the stat sheet
05:45With the takedown before this one ends
05:49A 41-yard attempt
05:51The kick by Lutz is good
05:53And it's dropped back down now to a 4-point game
05:56It fed to the kicker, man
05:58That is a coach's best friend
06:00Saves him so much stress to have a guy
06:02He can really trust to go out
06:03And get it from that distance consistently
06:06Because from that far out
06:07No kick is a guarantee
06:24Here's Lutz set to kick this away
06:30This one's fielded at the 4-yard line
06:32Escapes the defender
06:33And his drive will start inside the turn 5
06:37Out of the field runs the Atlanta offense
06:39And all that's needed here, Broncos
06:42Is some repeat execution from that last series
06:44Of course, can't expect the defense has made some adjustments
06:47After giving up that touchdown
06:48And that is the beauty of this game
06:50We love so much
06:51Those back and forth adjustments on the sidelines
06:54And can this offense do what it did a drive ago?
06:56And that is stay one play ahead of their defensive foes
07:00Falcons getting ready
07:01Here comes 1st and 10
07:04They go play action
07:05And the first play of the series
07:10Going to be an incomplete pass
07:12Intended for his running back there
07:14And that brings up 2nd down
07:15I know that you and I love, Kate
07:17Looking at plays
07:18Discussing them
07:19And all the different outlets
07:20And check downs
07:20And usually there's a completion to be had
07:22But not against this defense
07:24Not on that one
07:25From the 24 once again
07:27It's 2nd and 10
07:342 out of the pistol
07:38And they're going to take him down
07:40Pressure gets to him at the 15
07:42And that leaves them in trouble
07:43I'm staring down at 3rd and 19 now
07:46Remembering our defensive meetings this week
07:48That's exactly how you try to play sound zone defense
07:51Give that quarterback nowhere to go
07:53Let that pass rush get home
07:556 defensive backs out there
07:57Broncos going down here on 3rd down
08:03And that's going to do it for our 1st quarter
08:05Here on Monday Night Primetime
08:0714-10 our score
08:09Back to the Superdome of Caesar
08:29Back for our 2nd quarter
08:31It's Falcons football
08:32They'll need something big here to start out
08:35It's 3rd and long
08:40Tunga by Lua now
08:43On tuck it to his man Zaccheaus
08:46Yeah and he's going to be brought down
08:47Normally Matt would pick up the 1st
08:49Not this time
08:49Still have a lengthy 4th down ahead
08:52Pursuit, pursuit, pursuit
08:53It's why they do these drills all the time
08:55You do it through the offseason
08:56You do it through training camp
08:57You do it in the regular season
08:59Because when a defense plays with tremendous pursuit
09:02You force 4th downs just as they do
09:10And he's calling for a fair catch
09:12Which is made at the 33-yard line
09:15The Broncos start getting the ball back
09:17As J.K. Dobbins runs out there
09:20And the last drive did end in points
09:22Not as many as they wanted though
09:24They had to settle for that field goal
09:25Despite advancing the football pretty well
09:34First down now, ball at the 33
09:41Mix off the play action
09:44Trout in with the ground
09:46A good game here
09:4711 yards it looks like
09:49That's going to pick up the 1st
09:51Finance will eat up every one of those opportunities
09:54To show and prove they can be chain movers as well
09:57Even as they get more and more recognition in this league
09:59They're still constantly working to prove
10:01That they're playmakers too
10:031st and 10
10:04Offense going 3
10:05Tied ends to the left
10:08Here's Knicks to throw
10:10To his back, J.K. Dobbins
10:12And he made a bid for midfield there
10:14But stopped on his own side at the 49
10:17I don't know why
10:18Every once in a while
10:19I get these little flashbacks
10:20But a little play like that
10:21It just flashes me back to the preseason
10:23My first preseason
10:24When one of the veteran QBs said
10:26Hey Brock, whatever you do
10:27Just find completions
10:28You will never go broke
10:30Taking a profit
10:31Go get a completion
10:32They're at a premium in this league
10:36Throwing on 2nd
10:37Knicks
10:39He'll step off
10:40And there he goes
10:41And Knicks slides in safely
10:43Doing so after he picked up that 1st down
10:45You know, these are the type of plays
10:47That really get an offense going
10:49This is a chance for QB to inspire the guys around him
10:51On his own number
10:53Carrying his teammates to a 1st down on that big run
10:55That inflates an offense
10:57And it can suck the wind out of that defense
11:04Look at this
11:04Three tight ends to the right
11:05On his 1st and 10
11:10One of the tight ends in motion left
11:17They'll run on 1st down with Dobbins
11:19And they've got him down near the red zone
11:21At the 22
11:23Nice early return there
11:25They're going to be more than happy with that one, Brock
11:27And could be a huge boost to their offense
11:29If this ground game can get going at this pace
11:31Every offense in this league searches for explosives
11:35How can we find it?
11:36It's often through the air
11:37But when you get it on the ground like that
11:38Boy, is it a huge bonus
11:42On 2nd down, here's Dobbins
11:44And he'll get them enough for a 1st down
11:47That's certainly a spot where you could be more aggressive
11:49If you want to take your shots
11:51Some coaches, even the bolder ones
11:52Will take the safe play first
11:54When they get it from time to time
11:55No 3rd down required now
12:00To the line and set
12:01Here we go, 1st down
