00:00We also have my colleague Preeti Chaudhary with us from Knot Place.
00:04Preeti, the much-anticipated Ramlila Maidan rally seems to be now over.
00:09The message is loud and clear by the opposition that this fight against Votchori is going to continue.
00:15And after Gyanesh Kumar, it's Prime Minister Modi's turn.
00:18This is what Rahul Gandhi has said.
00:26Well, in many ways, you know, Anjali, if you look at what has transpired today,
00:32it's been, in terms of, of course, we've been speaking about it, enthusing your cadre, mobilizing them.
00:38This kind of cadre mobilization by the united opposition, I doubt has been seen in many years,
00:44at least in the last, since the BJP has come to power at the center since 2014.
00:51I haven't personally seen this kind of cadre mobilization, a successful cadre mobilization by the opposition.
01:00So the opposition will, of course, be happy that they've been able to enthuse their cadre,
01:06mobilize them, encourage them and get them out to come all the way to the national capital
01:12where this Ramlila Maidan rally is concerned.
01:15Secondly, unity, where the India alliance comes into question.
01:19Now, whichever way you might look at it, they might have had their differences.
01:22But this has been one of the moments where we've seen the entire India alliance come together
01:29where one umbrella is concerned.
01:31And you saw that in the kind of speeches that were made.
01:35They found a common cause to galvanize against.
01:38Mamata Banuji is licking her electoral wounds, coming at the back of the West Bengal defeat.
01:45And you can see that now there is also a fair amount of comfort of having Congress
01:53as the epicenter of the India alliance, which at one point of time,
01:57when the TMC was much stronger, you know, there was a bit of an apprehension,
02:02at least, you know, from those quarters.
02:05So it's interesting in that sense that you see complete galvanization of the opposition coming together
02:12and seemingly accepting Rahul Gandhi as not just the leader of opposition,
02:18but someone who is the nucleus of the India alliance.
02:22And that seemingly has happened today.
02:23And you could see that on screen.
02:25You could see that in the kind of imagery and posters that were put all across Ramlila Maidan as well.
02:31All of this in the backdrop of certain talks and speculation that are coming to light
02:35of the emergence of a possible third front with the DMK getting in touch,
02:39even with the CJP, the BRS.
02:42So in terms of all of that, where opposition unity is concerned, that's big.
02:46Thirdly, and I would think this is going to be very important,
02:50what happened today at the Ramlila Maidan was also the clarion call that was made as a campaign
02:57that have started for the Congress and the Samajwadi party in Uttar Pradesh.
03:02For many, the images of Rahul Gandhi alongside Akhilesh Yadav on top of that open jeep will be the money
03:12shot or the cover shot or the banner picture on newspapers tomorrow
03:16where Uttar Pradesh is concerned.
03:18So that campaign from today has already started from Ramlila Maidan.
03:23But one cohesive argument through it all, and that is, you know, all parties coming together, asking for accountability,
03:32the constant refrain of Gyanesh Kumar, which now they are not limiting to just Gyanesh Kumar.
03:39Earlier on, there were apprehensions within the India alliance.
03:42We've spoken to left parties as well, that they wanted to limit the attack on Gyanesh Kumar
03:48and not escalate it to the Home Minister and Prime Minister.
03:51I think that bridge was also breached today, where you saw across the board of all India alliance parties
03:57coming together and escalating their attack, not limiting it just to Gyanesh Kumar
04:02and directly attacking the Home Minister and the Prime Minister as well.
