An India Today crew was assaulted by an unidentified mob in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh, while covering civic elections that turned violent. The attackers snatched the camera, took away the battery and memory card, and damaged equipment to eliminate recorded footage of alleged stone pelting and booth capturing. A formal complaint has been registered at the Pulivendula police station, with investigators scanning working CCTV cameras to identify the assailants. Meanwhile, a political blame game erupted between the YSRCP and the TDP. YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy staged a dharna at the municipal office, alleging that dozens of party polling agents were barred from booths, while both parties traded accusations over the unrest.

00:35The main is the CCTV in that particular area.
00:39The CCTV to play a major role as we spoke to the inspector.
00:42He said there are four cameras working in working conditions and that CCTV will play a major role is what
00:47we're learning.
00:47But what also has happened in Polivendula is that while Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that most of his booth

01:51They have also said that whatever has happened is not, you know, correct, that it's completely condemnable.
01:57And it is to be seen who are these people, what were they trying to do and what exactly was
02:01their intention at that particular spot.
02:03We were just doing the coverage, we were doing our job.
02:06And when these people suddenly planned this particular attack and just to, you know, delete all the evidences that were
02:15there in the camera,
02:16what the incidents that were taking place, they had snatched away camera, damaged the camera and also attacked the video
02:23person, the video journalist here.
02:25They snatched away memory card, which is very crucial.
