Early morning bird photography at Lake Kerkini brings together Black Storks, egrets, and the quiet atmosphere of a summer hide by the Kerkiniti River. The day begins with mosquitoes still abundant and a patient session of wildlife watching from a concealed spot, followed by Black Storks near a weir and a late afternoon drive along the embankment of the Strimonas River.

This nature and wildlife video captures the rhythm of a photographic tour in northern Greece, with changing light, riverbank scenery, and close attention to birds in their natural habitat. It is ideal for viewers who enjoy birdwatching, wildlife photography, European wetland landscapes, and calm outdoor travel footage.

Created for anyone searching for Lake Kerkini wildlife, Black Storks, egret photography, birdwatching in Greece, nature documentary style footage, and relaxing wildlife viewing. It also suits fans of scenic river embankments, hide photography, and quiet nature content for background viewing and discovery.

00:23I've come to a place, I'm in the hide again, and I've come to a place I haven't been to
00:28before, to see if I can get away from fishing there in the morning, basically. I have the
00:40sunrise tower, and to my left is a very small lily pad, and the entrance to the smallest
00:55river that enters the lake, which also happens to be the river that the lake gets its name
01:01from, it's called the Kerkemiti, and I'm hoping that I'm going to get some white storks come
01:08down this morning, and have a feed and a hunt around, and anything else that might come
01:15along, waders of that nature. So, yeah, I don't know what the morning will produce, but with
01:24only luck will get something at least. So, we'll see. It's a beautiful morning.
02:12That's a beautiful way.
02:35and a couple of flat shots as well.
02:47They're not quite very much around at this location.
02:52It's a grey herring further around.
02:56But other than that, it's not really very much.
03:01The light is absolutely gorgeous though.
03:04It's very very soft, warm light.
03:10You're both in the rain.
03:12I'm not watching this world.
03:22Time to go, I think.
03:30I'll catch up again in a little while.
03:55I'll catch up again in a little while.
04:06I'll catch up again in a little while.
04:11I'll catch up again in a little while.
04:23I'll catch up again in a little while.
04:30So we're down by one of the weirs which comes off the canal, off the lake I mean, and there's
04:43a bunch of black stalks which have all gathered in one of the little gullies there.
04:51I'll see if I can get some video look for you as well.
05:13There's a bunch of little egrets, grey herring, and there's one, two, three, four, five,
05:20black stalks as well.
05:23And to the right of them, sitting on the embankment, a whole bunch of cormorants.
05:42A lot of water coming off right there.
05:47I can't.
06:06There's a lot of water coming off right there.
06:07And I'll see you next week.
06:13And there's a lot of water coming off right there.
06:27Maybe if I turn around and come back on the lower track, that must be what I'll try and
06:31do.
06:34Although we've not finished, I'll try to relocate.
06:40Let's see if I can get a better shot of those black stones.
07:13Let's see if I can get a better shot of those black stones.
07:14.
08:00So I've come in the last hour of daylight down to the Srimonis River just to see if there's
08:10anything I'll understand here before I call it Quetzalcoatl.
08:15The water is so very low there at the moment.
08:21It's not too lit up much ago.
08:24It's still very very beautiful.
08:48It's actually a buffalo going back to their farm and there's all kinds of dust.
08:56And it looks quite amazing when it's backlit.
09:28It's still very beautiful.
09:50So that about covers it for today.
09:53I didn't find anything else in the end.
09:59Tomorrow is my last day here on this occasion.
10:06If any luck I'll get out onto a boat and out onto the delta into the forest a little bit,
10:13or at least onto the delta before the forest to see what kind of bird life is there.
10:19I'm told there's a massive colony of white pelican and Dalmatian pelican at the moment.
10:27So that could prove interesting to have a look at in the morning.
10:31So thank you for watching.
10:33I hope you've enjoyed it such as it is.
10:35I didn't have too much of a successful day today, but at least it was a decent adventure.
10:43And I'll see you next time.
10:45Thanks again for watching.
10:47Bye for now.
11:15Bye.
11:17Bye.
