Joe Rose and Danny "Hollywood" Rabinowitz react to Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis addressing running back Ollie Gordon II following his crucial unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The guys also break down the looming NFL Trade Deadline, explaining why the Dolphins cannot afford to trade away foundational pieces like Zach Sieler or Austin Jackson, while checking in on headlines around the league.

00:00I mean, Ollie's a competitor and he cares about the game a lot.
00:02And I was just letting him know that in that situation that he's dead ass wrong.
00:07I mean, that's the honest truth.
00:09And it would be wrong if I didn't tell him the truth.
00:12If I'd be like, oh, it's okay, you were just trying to compete.
00:14Like, no, we went from third and four to third and like 15 or 20.
00:18And we did not convert.
00:20And that was one of those stalled drives that I'm talking about.
00:22That's something that we can control.
00:23And that is wrong.
00:25And I finished it by telling him I'm on his side, I'm with him.
00:28And we're teammates and we're in this together.
00:30And he's going to go out and help us win this game.
00:33And we're going to fight the next play.
00:35He's going to go back out there.
00:36But at the same time, I got to tell you, you're dead wrong when you're dead wrong.
00:40Wow.
00:41You know, we don't get that a lot.
00:45We don't get that a lot.
00:47And Malik Willis, quarterback of the Miami Dolphins,
00:51talking about if you watch the game, and maybe you didn't see it if you were at the game,
00:55but at home and watching Malik Willis after everybody had had their second with him,
01:02the head coach, a couple of coaches, and he was fired up.
01:05And he told Ollie Gordon nicely, he didn't jump in his face in a mean-spirited way,
01:12just said, hey, man, can't do that.
01:14I got your back.
01:15We need you, but you can't do that, man.
01:17That unsportsmanlike conduct penalty is just a killer.
01:22Man, we're struggling, these third and manageable, third and threes, third and fours, third and fives.
01:28Man, we got to have them.
01:29We can't have those third and all-day situations.
01:34We're just can't have them.
01:37And he was fired up, man.
01:38I mean, he was fired up with everybody.
01:40He didn't, I think, you know, and he's a passionate guy.
01:45That's, listen, even when there was nothing there, he tries to run through the wall.
01:49He got up a couple of times, and I could hear the pads.
01:54And sometimes he's trying to split two 300-pound guys, and he's running hard.
01:59He gave it right to the end of the game.
02:01He was still running hard, trying to get the Dolphins back in the game.
02:07But you just, you can't have those.
02:11And they've had these discussions.
02:12I'm guessing they're taking place again today.
02:16Sounds like he's already talked.
02:18I'm guessing it's already happened.
02:19The head coach and general manager have explained to him.
02:23Hey, listen, man, he's ended up being a hell of a pick from last year.
02:26He, right there at the top for a six-round pick.
02:30And he's got a chip on his shoulder, and I don't want him to lose it.
02:34But you got to control it.
02:36We are not good enough to have those kind of mistakes.
02:41I thought we had a fourth-down stop.
02:43Looked like it.
02:44Get a nice tackle from your corner coming up.
02:48Looked like it was short.
02:50And I didn't think it was close, honestly.
02:52I thought it was a foot or two, and they reversed it.
02:57They came back and gave him the first down, and it would have been a huge stop for him.
03:01But that didn't work.
03:03And so, anyway, that was a huge play in the game.
03:08But we don't have a full roster, and nobody wants to hear it.
03:11They're playing the best guys.
03:12They're trying to win.
03:15Caden Proctor being out really affected, I thought, the offensive line.
03:19Nothing against Kingston, who got his first start.
03:23And I know they like him, and nothing against anybody else.
03:26But when you don't have your starting five guys.
03:28And Jonas Vianai had a rough day.
03:30And we were bragging about him last week, and the way he's been playing.
03:35It's been a nice story, and really, really nice story.
03:38Even with yesterday's game, what he's been able to do has been great.
03:42But the offensive line took a step back yesterday.
03:47That group of guys on that defensive line are really good.
03:53Barmore is really good.
03:54Durden was good.
03:55Milt Williams, they paid a lot of money to get him to leave Philadelphia
03:59through free agency.
04:01And even Leonard Taylor is off to a great start.
04:04Daquan Jones, they rotate them all in, and they get after it.
04:08It's pretty good.
04:09It's pretty good.
04:10And one of the deepest defensive lines in football.
04:14Leonard Taylor, by the way, nice former University of Miami
04:17out of Palmetto High School.
04:20Always talked about all the talent, and it's taken a while to kind of get him going.
04:25Was it the Jets first, Woody, if I'm not mistaken?
04:27But anyway, he's now in the rotation, got a couple of sacks on the season,
04:32and has done a really nice job.
04:35Got this thing figured out, and it's a big part of what they do.
04:40Listen, man, I know everybody said, you know,
04:43well, they're missing their receiver and their backup running back.
04:46I get it, man.
04:48They got a lot of good wide receivers not playing.
04:52But that's a good team, man.
04:53That team didn't go to Super Bowl because of luck or just schedule.
04:57Not to win that many games.
04:59You know, well, they got lucky against them because this guy wasn't playing,
05:02and that guy, well, okay.
05:04That's the league.
05:05That's what everybody's dealing with.
05:08All right.
05:08Besides all that, we had NFL trade deadline coming up November 10th.
05:13So I'm guessing a lot of our guys are going to start writing stuff about players
05:18that the Dolphins need to look at.
05:20Listen, if it's first of all, they're not giving up any high draft picks on anybody
05:26except draft, the draft.
05:28They're not.
05:30I don't think we get better, and it helps our situation,
05:34for development of the whole team by getting rid of any of the guys we've talked
05:40about over the last month or last few weeks.
05:43Zach Seeler, getting rid of him doesn't help anything.
05:48You're not getting a first-round pick for anybody to start with.
05:52And second of all, all those guys help you.
05:56Even Austin Jackson.
05:58Even Austin Jackson, who gets criticized a lot by a lot of people.
06:02He's clearly our best right tackle.
06:05We need Austin Jackson.
06:07I think he's motivated.
06:09It's contract time.
06:11He had to redo his contract.
06:13I'm guessing he wants to keep playing.
06:14He's a young guy.
06:17And I believe if he's not starting here, he'll be starting somewhere.
06:21So we need to keep him.
06:22And I don't care about next year.
06:25Well, he's going to be going, okay.
06:27But he helps us to help, whether it's running backs,
06:31whether it's the guy playing next to him.
06:33We want our best guys to play to have, you know, find out what we have at quarterback.
06:37Find out what we have at wide receiver.
06:40And that's a big part of it, man.
06:42Pass protection.
06:42And you need Austin Jackson.
06:45And I know there are going to be more articles coming out.
06:47And other guys.
06:48And just because there's a trade deadline doesn't mean we got to jump in on this thing
06:54with some veteran wide receiver that's not happy where he is right now
06:58and somebody wants to move him.
07:01And that's the other thing.
07:02With our head coach and general manager, if it's not the right fit in the locker room,
07:07we're not taking them no matter how good they are.
07:10We're not taking some wide receiver that's coming here and going,
07:13I'm the best receiver.
07:13I need 10 targets a game.
07:16That's not going to happen here.
07:18Not going to happen.
07:20By the way, did you see, speaking of that story,
07:23see Mike McDaniel's offense again yesterday with Herbert?
07:27They've gone some crazy time without a touchdown.
07:30They didn't have a touchdown yesterday.
07:31They had three field goals.
07:34And they're all struggling.
07:35He looks real.
07:35His interceptions are.
07:37A couple more.
07:37Oh, my God, man.
07:38A couple more picks.
07:39I think they said he's throwing a pick in every game.
07:40Is that right?
07:41It must be.
07:42But, yeah, his picks are bad, dude.
07:45They always flash that team on red zone every once in a while
07:49just to show a turnover.
07:50And, boy, hardball's like, no, we're going to get it figured out.
07:53We're not changing anything.
07:54I believe in it.
07:55And you're like, you're 0-7 now.
07:58You are 0-7.
08:01That's a shocker, them being the worst team in football.
08:03Yeah, that's number one for me.
08:05I thought they've been winning 11 games every year.
08:07The last few years, I thought, yeah, they'll do it again.
08:10And Mike will get this thing and get that running game going.
08:13And now I hear, well, their offensive line's banged up.
08:16They don't have any wide receivers.
08:18Well, hey, man, welcome to the NFL.
08:23Welcome.
08:23Nobody wants to hear it.
08:24I can tell you that.
08:25Nobody wants to hear that we're thin.
08:27Nobody wants to hear we're young.
08:29Nobody wants to hear any of this stuff.
08:31They just want to see good football and they want to see wins.
08:34And, boy, they are basically out of it already with watching Denver and Kansas City.
08:39By the way, what a great game and great finish.
08:42By the way, if somebody would have told you that that was going to be, I figured that'd
08:45be a good one.
08:46I think we're going to have a good one tonight for Monday Night Football, too.
08:49But the other game that was really good, the Jets and the Raiders went back and forth,
08:54which leads me to, when you're looking at stories of, like, guys that are going to come
08:59back and really put it together.
09:03Listen, I didn't even think Kirk Cousins was going to start the year.
09:05I thought Mendoza was going to be the starting quarterback from day one.
09:10They put him in there.
09:11We saw the show the first week, you know, through, he throwed two picks the first game,
09:17I think.
09:18Well, let me tell you something.
09:19He's up to 19 touchdowns.
09:20Threw three more yesterday.
09:23And I don't know how you bench him.
09:25He's got 19.
09:25He's on pace for, like, 40-something touchdowns right now.
09:29Now, and the other thing is, guys we're talking about, his trade value is skyrocketed.
09:37Now, all of a sudden, you get him, especially the price, and he's playing, right now, he
09:44top five, six quarterback in the league from what he's doing, his numbers.
09:49He's always been a middle-of-the-road type of guy, right?
09:52Bring him in.
09:53You know, and the other thing is, guys are going, well, who's his receivers?
09:56I don't know who these guys are.
09:58Yeah, he throws a tight end a lot.
09:59Oh, he's got good.
10:00He's got a really good tight end.
10:02Yeah, he actually got two pretty good tight ends, but it's a hell of a story.
10:07And now, do they move him?
10:08I don't think they do.
10:09I think they're 500, although I don't think they're catching Kansas City or Denver.
10:15I don't think they have that kind of team.
10:17But I got to tell you, man, he is, that's a hell of a story.
10:23That's...
10:23Yeah.
10:24So, we had some great games out, that one o'clock window, too, man.
10:27It was awesome.
10:28I know we're going to whip around the league in about 20 minutes, but there were some great
10:31ones yesterday.
10:32I had a couple blowouts.
10:34Yeah, but you had some weird ones, too.
10:36This is one they're showing the highlights of right now.
10:38This Cincinnati game was a wild game.
10:40I was not surprised by one score yesterday before we go to break.
10:43When you trade two leaders, one on offense and one on defense, that have been around the
10:50league, one of them's the best guard and one's a really good defensive tackle, and you get
10:55rid of those guys, you talk about leadership, that team looked like...
10:58What happened to that team?
10:59They were good last year, too.
11:00That team looked drained yesterday.
11:03They were terrible.
11:05They looked like they want the first pick right now, the way they looked.
11:08My God, that was crazy.
