00:00I've run 31 marathons.
00:01I've run marathons all over the place.
00:03New York City's not the hardest, it's the meanest.
00:06Like here's an idea, here's an idea.
00:07Let's have the first mile and a half be straight uphill,
00:10going up the Verrazano.
00:11Let's have the next mile and a half straight downhill.
00:13Good luck finding your pace.
00:14Then let's let the runners settle into this calm
00:16eight to 10 mile stretch through Brooklyn that's flat.
00:19Then the minute they're settling in,
00:20let's put them on this overpass on the BQE here.
00:24Then let's send them straight up the Queensborough Bridge
00:26at mile 17 so their quads start to explode.
00:29And then let's have the downhill be straight down
00:31in this long falls flat up First Avenue.
00:34Right when they're confidence, they're like,
00:35I'm almost there, you're not almost there.
00:36You got another 10 miles to go.
00:38Then you go into Bronx and you're like, okay, I've got it.
00:40And then you start to see Central Park
00:41and you're like, I made it back to the park.
00:43You're not done, that's where the hardest part is.
00:45Then you have three more miles of uphill.
00:47Then you go to Central Park South, it's uphill!
00:49And then you go to right here, you go to Columbus Circle,
00:52you think you're at the finish line, it says mile 26.
00:54The finish line right here, right there,
00:58at Tavern on the Greed, the finish line is uphill.
01:02Greatest marathon in the world.
