00:00Here's the drive I want to do.
00:01I charted this out.
00:03Jaden Daniels with the Commanders down 10-3.
00:06Gets the ball.
00:08Washington gets the ball early second quarter.
00:1010-46 in the second quarter.
00:12First and 10 from their own 11.
00:14It was a good punt and good coverage by the Eagles.
00:17First down.
00:19Eckler off the left side.
00:21Four-yard gain.
00:22Second and six from the Washington 15.
00:24Daniels connects with Trey Burks for a 21-yard gain.
00:28You've now flipped the field position.
00:31Eagles had the advantage on you.
00:33You're now basically in the middle of the field.
00:35They run Eckler.
00:36Really no gain there.
00:38Jaden connects back-to-back passes to Antonio Williams.
00:42Just kind of short little stuff underneath.
00:44But you pick up a first down.
00:45You go first and 10.
00:46Second and nine.
00:47Third and four.
00:48First down.
00:49That is effective offense.
00:52The one in completion on this drive was first and 10 from the 47.
00:55The next play, Jaden again goes to Antonio Williams, the rookie,
00:59again proving his ability to be slippery in the middle of the field underneath.
01:03So then you're at first and 10 from the Philly 43.
01:06Eckler with a carry.
01:08Three yards.
01:09Then Jaden.
01:10Remember this one, Brian.
01:12Second and seven from the Eagles 40.
01:14He runs for 14 yards.
01:16Slides to get down.
01:18That's the one in the middle of the field.
01:19He was on like the right hash.
01:20Really important slide there.
01:22Doesn't take a big hit.
01:23First and 10 from the Eagles 26.
01:26Eckler left side.
01:27Eight-yard gain.
01:29Bang.
01:29Jaden.
01:30Touchdown pass.
01:31Steph Diggs.
01:32Tie ball game.
01:32That was by far the best drive this offense had all game.
01:36Jaden was excellent on that drive.
01:38Went five of six.
01:39Also had the 14-yard rush for a first down.
01:42I had mentioned it, so I just wanted to run through it.
01:45That was Jaden at his best.
01:47Both able to get some chunks.
01:48Able to use his legs.
01:50And just smart underneath stuff.
01:52Stuff.
01:53That's how you win ball games, man.
01:54Yeah.
01:55I'm saying, though.
01:56You're not always going to have your best, but you've got to have your best in flashes.
01:59Not all the time.
01:59Like I mentioned earlier, though, Jay.
02:01When that dude uses those legs, turn into a different dude.
02:06And I think it affects the defense so damn much.
02:09You know, because the two times he took off last night, they had covered and boom.
02:14First down.
02:15The one down the right side and the one in the middle.
02:18And let's give him credit for the growth and the maturation as a runner.
02:24True.
02:24There was one late in the game where he connected with Diggs on an absolute laser he threw into
02:30the middle of the field where there was a ton of green in front of him if he wanted
02:33to run.
02:34They picked up the first down with the throw to Steph.
02:37But, dude, he slides and he gets out of bounds.
02:40Yeah.
02:40Like, he has learned in his third season, I do have to take care of my body.
02:45I'm not Superman.
02:46This isn't Baton Rouge.
02:47And he's going to get hit sometimes.
02:50Because he got hit yesterday.
02:51I think he said his wing got knocked out.
02:52Yeah.
02:53That was a scary moment.
02:53I think he got a little hit on the elbow as well.
02:57But you know what?
02:59He doesn't look to get out the game.
03:01He looks to stay there and play with his team.
03:03And you have to respect that.
03:05Because, like, I think when we look at Brett Favre, his players respected him because Brett
03:13didn't act like he was different than anybody else.
03:15Right.
03:15And I think quarterbacks with that mindset, you know, there are a lot of them who always
03:20look to be pampered.
03:21Some of them like, look, I'm a football player.
03:23Let's get this thing done.
03:26I think when Jaden took that big shot just before halftime, they had to call the time
03:32out for him to get off the field, kind of catch his breath, frankly.
03:35And then he comes to the bench, puts his helmet down, and clearly is in pain.
03:40We have this conversation in football, hurt or injured, right?
03:43Jaden was hurt.
03:44He got blasted.
03:46He was hurt.
03:47He wasn't injured.
03:48And that's, like, the best delineation there because he's able to catch his breath, get
03:51to the sideline, get to halftime, comes back out, and is fine.
03:54You know, the average person don't know the difference, Jay.
03:56I thought that was a good example for the average person.
03:59Every time they feel pain, they think it's injured.
04:02Let's go to the phones.
04:04My guy, Eli, in D.C.
04:05What's up, Elijah?
04:08What's going on, fellas?
04:09Thanks for taking my call.
04:10Hail to the W.
04:12I'm encouraged, obviously, by Jaden putting games together.
04:17I was encouraged by seeing him take the leadership role in talking to his team.
04:22Now, I'm not one that I need to see somebody clapping their hands on the sideline to feel
04:27like they're encouraging the team.
04:29I mean, if you're going to win all your games, you can be silent and whatever.
04:32But I still feel like he took the onus on himself to maybe step out of his, you know,
04:36his normal cool vibe and just be like, hey, man, whatever needs to be done.
04:40And the team responded.
04:41So, that's encouraging because he still is a young player and leadership looks different
04:46as you're in the NFL and as time goes on.
04:50Now, one thing I do have concern with is you play how you practice.
04:54So, either in practice, these things are going on and the right amount of accountability isn't
05:00happening.
05:00And it's like, well, to my earlier point, well, we don't have nobody else necessarily
05:05put on the field to challenge this guy to say, hey, man, give me somebody in here who's
05:09going to give me what I need.
05:10But in practice, in the situation that they're in, they need their best.
05:14So, it's an interesting situation.
05:15But after bye week, there's no excuse.
05:18It's on everybody.
05:19They have to get that corrected because when three points, six points could be the game.
05:24If you're backing yourself out and your kicker doesn't have that opportunity, then we
05:28don't deserve to be in certain spots.
05:30So, I'm encouraged by Trey Amos.
05:32I'm encouraged by, I think he, like you were saying, he brings stability to the back end.
05:37Nick Robinson is the dog.
05:39I think the defense is getting more comfortable with what the coach is asking them to do from
05:44a situation to situation basis.
05:46So, that is going to carry over and can help the team.
05:49So, I'm also encouraged by Antonio Williams in the RPO game.
05:53He ran so much of that in Clemson and was able to eat up and chew up so many underneath
05:58yards
05:58that I think they just haven't utilized him in that way.
06:01So, it was kind of cool to just, oh, he's in the backfield.
06:04Uh-oh, uh-oh.
06:04I kind of got excited about the possibilities there.
06:07So, just keep looking at the tape.
06:09And I think there is a realm and a pathway for it.
06:12But it starts with the team.
06:13So, there can't be the pre-step thing.
06:15There's no hope there.
06:16If we continue this way, there's no way that we can have any success.
06:20So, that has to be bullet point number one for everybody.
06:25You do your job.
06:26You hold your water.
06:27We make sure we do what we got to do.
06:29And everything starts there.
06:31So, that's for everybody, man.
06:32So, but hail to the W.
06:33We got an opportunity, man.
06:35Let's celebrate the day.
06:36And then let's on to the Rams, man.
06:38Appreciate y'all.
06:39All love.
06:39Peace, peace.
06:40Thanks, bud.
06:41Thanks, Eli.
06:41Appreciate you, bud.
06:43You had to win last night, period.
06:45They got to win last night.
06:47Like, there's a lot to discuss.
06:50There's a lot that you didn't like.
06:52There's a lot to clean up.
06:53But you had to win.
06:54They got to win.
06:56Let's check out Jonesy in D.C.
07:00What's up, Jonesy?
07:03All ears.
07:03What's going on?
07:04Chilling, man.
07:05How are you?
07:06I'm doing okay.
07:08How about you, guys?
07:09Dirty, sturdy.
07:10I'm good, brother.
07:11What's up?
07:11Doing good.
07:12Yes, indeed.
07:13Hey, what I'm encouraged by is the defense as a whole.
07:17They played.
07:17They came on slow last night.
07:19But, man, as time went on, they got stronger and stronger.
07:22They look like that other side of the defense.
07:25I mean, the opposing defense that we played last night.
07:28You know what I mean?
07:29From, like, last year and the year before.
07:33Boy, I'm going to tell you something.
07:34The best thing they could have did, as far as on offense, though, is bring back McNichols and Eckler.
07:42But, man, they're some dog runners, man.
07:44They help you out a lot.
07:47JD5 don't have to do it all by itself.
07:49So, I'm encouraged.
07:51I think we are getting out of the can't-get-rights, you know, as far as the penalties go.
07:57I mean, in the beginning, it was rough.
07:59But, you know, again, as the game went on between, like, the second half, it slows down and disappears.
08:05And it was nice to see Philly get the daggone offside in pretty much illegal motions and stuff like that,
08:13too, last night.
08:14So, yeah, I saw one of the guys throw away his little pad, you know, once he saw the mistake
08:19he made on it.
08:20I loved it.
08:21Melanto, whatever his name is.
08:22But, yeah, man, we're going to get better as time goes on.
08:26And as far as it goes with Matthew Stafford, be careful about that, JP, as far as him not being
08:32able to run.
08:33Because I heard Chris Russell tell me that Prescott couldn't run and do what he did.
08:38But guess what happened when he needed it in desperation?
08:42He got the yards he needed to keep the drives alive.
08:46They lost.
08:46So, that's Matthew Stafford is the same type of dude.
08:51He's not what he once was as far as running.
08:54But when he needs the desperation yards on a fourth and seventh and in the middle of the field, he'll
09:00get it.
09:00So, I'm saying, we just got to be playing our game at its best.
09:06I appreciate you, Jonesy.
09:08Calling and talking about Dak running the ball when they had a cataclysmic collapse.
09:12Dak's always been able to run the ball.
09:13Yeah, Dak's always been a runner.
09:15He doesn't run as much as he used to.
09:17I don't ever remember Matthew running.
09:20So, I don't know about that one.
09:21Let's go to Russ in Graysonville.
09:24What's up, Russell?
09:25Hey, what's up, B-Mets?
09:27What's up, family?
09:28What's up, dude?
09:29Hey, can you guys hear me?
09:31Yeah, we got you, bro.
09:32Got you.
09:33I'm encouraged by a couple things.
09:34First of all, that the door is still open in our division.
09:39I thank God for the Cardinals, you know, knocking off Dallas to help us.
09:43But it's about us helping ourselves.
09:44And I find great encouragement in the relationship that I see growing between Jaden and Antonio Williams.
09:52It's the trust that's formulated because, as a quarterback, if you don't trust a receiver, you can best believe he's
09:59not throwing you the ball.
10:00That's just a fact.
10:01You can ask quarterbacks upon quarterbacks.
10:03You know, there's a chemistry that's developed.
10:05And I believe that that chemistry is going to continue to grow.
10:09I believe Antonio's years above his, you know, being a rookie because of his knowledge and knowing when to sit
10:16down in the zones and to methodically move the chains.
10:19It doesn't always have to be the big shot.
10:21But, yeah, it's going to happen.
10:22And I'm also encouraged by Cosby.
10:26I mean, he had his hands full last night when he was talking about Carter.
10:29Yeah.
10:29You know, and no sacks, no pressures.
10:32You know, the one false start, I understand, a hair, but the only downside, y'all talked about it, we've
10:38got to clean up the penalties, man.
10:40Coming off of a bye week that is unacceptable on every level, there's got to be some discipline, accountability.
10:47We've got to clean that up and stop shooting ourselves in the foot.
10:50I love you guys.
10:52Big Green Monday is always nice.
10:54You guys, have a great day.
10:55Thanks, buddy.
10:56Appreciate the call.
10:58B, I wanted to, I got this tweet from our guy, Tay.
11:01Shout out to Mark Rippin hyping up the crowd talking about the cowgirls.
11:04That was awesome.
11:05Rip got up there and cut a wrestling promo.
11:08We had Rip on the show, man.
11:09Rip was fired up, dog.
11:11He was fired up.
11:11I got to talk to him for a minute.
11:13It was awesome.
11:13You forget how big that dude is.
11:15Maybe you don't.
11:16He's a unit, dude.
11:17Rip's big, bro.
11:19Rippin got up there, did the spear.
11:20I was talking to him before.
11:22He talked more now than he did when he was playing.
11:24I said to him, I was like, you know, beaded that spear in London and was surprised how
11:28narrow the little landing area is.
11:30He's like, I know.
11:31I got to practice.
11:31We told him.
11:32See, most people get a chance to practice.
11:34I found out that day, dude.
11:35In London.
11:36I'm on the side like, oh yeah, we're going to need you to do this.
11:39Oh, okay.
11:40All right.
11:41Well, and was it like the standard, like, did you get the same joint they have at Northwest
11:45Stadium or was it a London version?
11:47I don't know, but it's about the size of the opening of this cup.
11:53Let's check out Shane in Fairfax.
11:55What's up, Shane?
11:57What's up, all ears?
11:59B-Mitch.
11:59How are you guys doing today?
12:00It's about time, right?
12:02Today's a great feeling.
12:04Regardless, you know, look, we didn't play well right after the ball week.
12:07I thought we'd come in and play a whole lot better.
12:09But like you said, a win's a win.
12:11We needed this win.
12:12We did what we had to do.
12:14We beat a depleted Eagles team.
12:17Let's call it what it is.
12:18Now, there's real chances next week, right?
12:20So, let's go in there.
12:22Let's clean up all this pre-snap penalties again, Dan Quinn.
12:26It's on you, dude.
12:27That's on you.
12:28Like, coming up.
12:28And J.D., look, he's got to play better, man.
12:33Like, the first half, he was inaccurate, bad.
12:36Like, he could not hit the right side of a ball and call it what it is.
12:39But I'm encouraged by, I hate to say it, by our field goal kicker.
12:43Stephens went out there and did his thing.
12:45He balled out.
12:46That is what we need.
12:47He needs encouragement, right?
12:48He went out there, big leg, and hit his field goals he needed to hit.
12:52Hey, and look, Eckler, man, right now he's the MVP of this damn team on offense.
12:58Look, he, that stretch play they run looked like the coach back in the day with Peyton
13:03Manning and James.
13:04That stretch play was money all night long.
13:07And they still got to do something with Chris Paul, man.
13:10That left guard position right now is a major, major problem.
13:14Let's not know what it is.
13:15But I talked to our boys.
13:17Now let's go get them down.
13:20The stretch play was working.
13:22I do think losing.
13:24We'll see what happens with J-Mac.
13:26We'll hear from Dan Quinn at three.
13:27Should get an update on Jeremy McNichols.
13:30That kid can play.
13:30He looked like their best runner last night to me.
13:33I think it's pretty obvious they're keeping Eckler on a pitch count, which I think is smart
13:36to try to keep him for the duration of the season.
13:39I got about three, four more in me.
13:42Yeah?
13:43Yards or carries?
13:44I could do a 60 stretch, 70 stretch.
13:46I could hit that thing off tackle, put that foot in the ground, get up field, J.
13:50I use this thing as a battering ram.
13:52I'm going to use my face, though, not the tip of my head.
13:56I'm not going to be Cam Scatterboot.
13:59Yeah, I'm not going to be him.
14:00I'm going to be here.
14:02Let's check in with Sylvester in D.C.
14:06What's up, Sylvester?
14:07Hey, what's up, guys?
14:08How y'all doing today?
14:09Good, man.
14:11Yeah, on all three sides of the ball, I'm encouraged on with the offensive coordinator,
14:17defensive coordinator, and even Luke McCaffrey on special teams.
14:21So I'm encouraged with that.
14:23But I do have one discouragement here, and that's with our offensive line coach,
14:29Darnell Stapleton.
14:31I don't know whether we need to call in a Taquando guy to go in there with these guys
14:37on the offensive line.
14:38Because what it seems to me is not only the pre-snap mess-up, I see a lot of our
14:47defenses
14:47get their hands on them.
14:49These guys can't let these guys get their hands on them first.
14:53They should take Taquando with the hand movement.
14:56Or we need to call Chris Samuels back from Germantown.
14:59I got him on speed dial.
15:01So I want to call him up and say, hey, man, come in there and get these guys together
15:06on the offensive line coach side of the game.
15:10Because they need to be coached up.
15:11That's all it is.
15:12They taught all that.
15:13All that stuff is taught.
15:14So if they're not doing it in the game, that's on them.
15:17That's not on the coach.
15:17Right, right.
15:19Right.
15:20It is on them as far as the pre-snap problems are.
15:24But what I'm seeing in the games is a lot of the defenses know that if they get their
15:29hands on our offensive line guys, they can move them around a little bit better.
15:36Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
15:37That what you're saying is taught.
15:40So if they are not handling it in the game, then that's on the player.
15:44Because that stuff is taught.
15:47I know that for a fact.
15:48Appreciate the call, Sylvester.
15:49Thank you, bud.
