00:05having a good Monday morning no hell no Mickey how about you
00:11oh it's Monday Monday right so this feels like a one like a game where just nobody gets out
00:21unscathed I understand and agree with all of the critiques of the defense I really really do but
00:29we also got to a point where the offense felt like it could have put the game away numerous times
00:36it didn't whether you think that was conservative play calling by shoddy whether you think it's just
00:41the offense not doing their job the offensive line whatever the case is I would love to know
00:46your thoughts because I think there's a lot of blame to go around on this one what have I told
00:51you about field goals they lose you games and they damn sure did yesterday you know what I sat
01:01there afterwards and I was thinking in all my days covering this team this loss might stick out to be
01:12one of the if not the worst I think I've ever witnessed why is that tell me I don't disagree
01:20because this was a game that they were winning winning by 10 points winning by however many with
01:33just a few minutes to go and they were facing a backup quarterback who had not thrown that many
01:41passes in a year and a half and a backup running back who ended up having a career five-year
01:52career day
01:54and you got beat in overtime not only did you get forced into overtime and luckily because of a missed
02:04extra point you got a three and out with the first possession and all you had to do was kick
02:12a field goal
02:13to win the game and you went three and out right and and that last field goal when they kicked
02:21it in
02:21regulation I was sitting there going oh they're gonna lose by one point and then the guy missed the extra
02:29point
02:29but by god they drove right down the field and scored so I had a a stat here and it
02:35just kind of
02:36I think exhibits how bad this was because I I had to double check what I wrote down after the
02:43game
02:45they scored four touchdowns and I should uh recognize right Arizona by the way they scored four touchdowns
02:55needing only 23 plays 23 plays 23 plays and they scored four touchdowns with a backup quarterback
03:06who had not played a down this season and and and and you get beat and I'm with you you
03:17know I get it
03:18the defense gave up 33 points after giving up 10 in the last uh four quarters won the previous game
03:28in the
03:28first three quarters of this game right yeah and and then the offense yeah I get it they scored 30
03:37points
03:37but you gotta put the game away do you realize Dak only threw for what 191 or 195 yeah
03:47I mean and and I'm not a well maybe I am a big told you so but when you're not
03:57running the football
03:58don't keep running it you're not getting anywhere they averaged what 2.3 carry something like that
04:06yeah and and and I'm telling you you ran yourself into a ditch it was it was that first play
04:15when they
04:16got the ball in overtime because I I totally get that Mickey I've been a proponent of that but the
04:21first play where they got the ball offensively in overtime and they handed it off I was like good
04:26night it is overtime pass the ball down the field and win this stupid game yep and and how about
04:34first
04:34and 10 at the 20 after the onside kick oh my gosh yes right that play calling was atrocious
04:42changed that changed that changed the whole complexion of the game yeah and Arizona went to
04:48school on what the Bays did Tampa and Green Bay and they were blitzing and Dak gets sacked four times
04:55he'd only been sacked seven times in seven games right and he gets sacked four times and got hit a
05:05zillion more times right and having to run for his life so once again if you do not do a
05:14better job
05:15of making them pay and they certainly weren't doing so uh with a running game then you're gonna
05:24you're gonna have trouble scoring points and and they did and the more field goals you kick the closer
05:32you are to losing and that certainly took place you feel like the offensive lines catching enough
05:37flack for for that oh yes they did not play well uh across the board uh that last sack that
05:45that that
05:46Dak suffered both offensive tackles got beat uh and they did a good job with Buda Baker kind of hanging
05:54out on the line of scrimmage uh and I know but I think he had seven tackles that's not out
06:00of the
06:00question he forced the fumble there at the goal line but he also caused problems uh with them
06:08getting passes off caused problems running the football filling gaps uh and yeah the offensive
06:15line that was not one of their better performance after everybody hailed them against the Eagles and
06:22I think we're starting to see what the Eagles are when the commanders can beat them that bad right
06:28man and the Eagles just because they had the lead for a minute and you're like oh okay and then
06:34it just just collapsed well collapse is a good collapse feels like the word of the day in the NFC
06:40East
06:41oh just just awful right uh and goodness knows if the Giants had had played how many of them would
06:50have lost right yeah probably three of them so yeah that that just and and what you gotta hope and
06:58maybe
06:59it is when you're sitting there at three and five uh that that's not an indication of what's going to
07:06happen uh over the next what nine games there's a lot of a lot of games left but again you
07:13can't play
07:14that inconsistently against a team now think about it that was they had only won what two games this
07:23year they were two and five right do you realize last year they finished the season on a nine game
07:29losing streak and if they had not beaten the Cowboys last year they would have finished the season with a
07:3715 game losing streak so but they got to play and you lost to that team my and here's my
07:45concern
07:46about the there's a lot of football left to be played because you are right about that more than
07:53half of the schedule still ahead what I get worried about Mickey and I want to see if you're with
07:58me on
07:59this is that the Cowboys will look at the vulnerability of this division and not enough at the struggles of
08:06themselves and think hey maybe we could make one more move before the trade deadline when I do not
08:11think they should be giving up any more already leveraged future assets for an experiment of a season
08:18that kind of feels like it's failed well uh I don't know that they would think that way meaning uh
08:27you
08:27know we're gonna tuck tail here right uh I I think I'm sure there's some fight left in this team
08:35right
08:35uh now as for giving up assets that what assets do they have to give up right the draft fixer
08:44I mean
08:45looking pretty thin so yeah what are you gonna and what are you gonna spend it on I honestly don't
08:51know at this point I really don't right you need things you need lots of things fix what you have
08:57right right somehow some way you need to figure out how to play more consistently especially at home
09:07and and and and they had home field advantage that crowd was pretty fired up the whole time
09:14the crowd didn't give up not even when the guy was lining up to kick the winning field goal right
09:21there was towels waving everybody's yelling and screaming for those who didn't leave when they figured
09:27the extra point would end the game right how crazy was that by the way well you know the the
09:33extra
09:34point he kicked previously narrowly yeah between the the upright right on that left upright so it was
09:41like okay let's see what this guy does it was his first miss in two years it was awesome the
09:49thing
09:50hooked in behind the pole though I was like oh it looked like it went in yeah it was it
09:54was awesome
09:55that they made me think we had a shot once again Mickey a lot of people are are demanding
10:01that Parker be fired and that Schottenheimer be fired those things those things aren't changing
10:07at this point well I don't see that I mean what's that gonna what's that gonna do who's taking over
10:14we have no idea we talked about that this morning I have no idea Jerry and and you know it's
10:20like
10:21I saw I saw where Florida State fired Norvell right the head coach yep that's not going to solve
10:29anything the only thing it does is give them a head start to find the next guy right before everybody
10:35else starts looking and checking out the candidates right well in the NFL that it doesn't work that way
10:44right there's not a lot of coaches just sitting out there doing nothing right so yeah I don't see where
10:50that where that uh solves anything you know and it it's and it's it's a week-to-week league right
10:58and maybe we've learned that hard lesson uh because last week everything was solved and fixed even
11:06though I didn't think so because at halftime you were losing to the Eagles 21-20 right uh and then
11:13you know you you put together a shutout in the fourth quarter gave up only 10 points in the first
11:19three
11:20quarters yesterday so that was like okay maybe but how do you give up a 63 yard touchdown run to
11:30some guy I had to look up how to spell his last name it's too many vowels consecutively in the
11:36middle right that throws you off yeah I thought it was like the you know that country Algiers or
11:42something I was like you know and then and then the very next play you give up a 52 yard
11:50run
11:50to this guy he had a career day he had 16 touches for 191 yards and two touchdowns
12:01hey uh is was George Pickens okay was he happy or no I didn't get in the locker room I
12:09was listening to
12:10uh shoddy and uh okay Prescott neither one of them them uh of them were okay I'll guarantee you that
12:18oh okay but there was something that Sean Heimer said and I realize like he's probably not going to
12:25come out and be like you guys are right I'm the worst but when he was asked about not being
12:31too
12:31conservative he goes I yeah I want to look at that but I don't necessarily I don't feel that way
12:37out
12:37there no did you think then and I kind of feel like we've led in this direction that he was
12:42just
12:42too conservative yesterday yes absolutely and I think that this this notion that the more you want
12:49run the ball the closer you are to winning sometimes that's bs right because all you can all you were
12:56doing the whole game was banging your head against the wall I think the longest run was seven yards
13:02and and and and when you you and so yeah you want to stick with it but and I understand
13:09part of it
13:10towards the end they were running the ball to uh um you know absorb their timeouts like get them to
13:18spend the time out they didn't even need timeouts because you couldn't convert a third down whenever
13:24you needed to by throwing the ball well I mean did did you what I'm going to double check this
13:32because
13:32I'm I'm doubting myself oh no oh no I'm right they were six of 16 on third down that's going
13:40to not
13:41be effective uh if you keep doing that and and and and yeah if you can't convert on third down
13:49and
13:49your quarterback's thrown for 195 yards and getting sacked four times and you still scored 30 points
13:57that's maybe the amazing part right yeah so yeah uh to me that was an inexcusable loss and now we'll
14:09see
14:09what they're made of going forward um because it's going to be a tough road uh to get this thing
14:17back on
