TechCrunch reports that OpenAI is merging the Chat and Work tabs in the ChatGPT desktop app, according to an email sent to users. The change will first go to select users for feedback before a wider rollout. Users will be able to bring in files and plugins, ask ChatGPT to build a website, create a presentation or do tasks on the web. Codex will stay separate, but ChatGPT and Codex will draw from the same token allowance, which may affect usage.
