00:00Yes, some more news in the North East for sports now.
00:05Things are going from bad to worse for Sunderland manager Reggie Libri.
00:10His side currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League table and that poor form has now spilled into
00:17the Europa League campaign as well.
00:22Previously, the Black Cats had been doing fairly decently in the Europa League despite having a poor start to the
00:30Premier League campaign.
00:31But even their Europa League form seems to be slipping.
00:36They lost at home 2-0 to Croatian side Dynamo Zagreb.
00:41Reggie Libri did rotate his starting 11, trying to rest players for the Premier League fixtures ahead of an international
00:50break to try and get Sunderland out of the relegation zone or at least away from the bottom of the
00:57table.
00:58Here's how Reggie Libri reacted after his Europa League defeat at the Stadium of Light.
01:05This was probably a bit too heavy for our young lads.
01:09They are a good team.
01:11We faced a good opponent this evening.
01:13And if you combine the momentum of the squad right now and those young lads was probably a bit too
01:21high.
01:21So I won't blame them because they need experience.
01:25This one is a tough one, but an important one for the future.
01:28I think the second half was a bit different with the core of the squad for five changes after 70
01:35minutes.
01:36We showed energy, quality at times, didn't score, created many chances.
01:42But this is what it is in this period.
01:45We don't find at the minute the solution to just shift the momentum and we have to keep going.
01:52No choice.
01:53I mean, you talk about that there, the need, you know, the period, the need to shift the momentum.
01:58I mean, is it with every week that passes, does it become more and more worrying that it just seems
02:04like at the moment you can't get out of this rut?
02:06It's uncomfortable.
02:07That's clear.
02:08We don't like it.
02:10It's not unusual in the Premier League.
02:13Last year, for example, many clubs, even big clubs, experienced a run without winning for 10 games.
02:20If you don't have, it's important to stick together, to keep going until the right moment.
02:26Because in football, it's a question of momentum, dynamic.
02:31And I believe that we can shift it.
02:36I see them every day on the training page.
02:40I see them in the facilities.
02:43They want to give their best, but this pair isn't an easy one for the players.
02:50So it's important to support them, to be demanding as well, because it's not enough for Sunderland at the minute.
02:57And we expect more.
