00:00Steve, what are your thoughts on this whole college football playoff rankings?
00:03I know we were talking about it kind of before the show about Alabama being higher than UCLA.
00:08I wasn't very happy about that, but John made a good point where it's like Alabama, I mean, they're playing
00:13better competition.
00:14UCLA, yeah, they're winning here and there, and obviously they're undefeated, but they're looking at strength of competition.
00:22Like, where do you sit on that?
00:23Where do you sit on them being over them and strength and the merit like we were talking about?
00:30Bama could be three and five, and they'll still put them at number one.
00:33I don't want to hear this strength of schedule stuff no more.
00:36That's right. SEC bias, man.
00:37Yeah, hey, listen, man. I love the SEC, but I'm tired of that.
00:41Of course, when you're looking at these rankings, I would say a team that will actually surprise everybody is going
00:47to be that matchup between Utah and BYU.
00:50That's going to set the tone because that's going to let you know what team is going to sit in
00:54and what team is going to be out.
00:56But outside of that, every other team that's necessarily playing, you're looking at, I would say, Wake Forest is not
01:03going to get in.
01:04I would say Kentucky is going to be a good team to get in.
01:08I would actually even go as far as UCLA getting in, but UCLA have to take care of Minnesota, and
01:16they have to put the icing on the cake and beat USC in that final game that they play.
01:21That has to be the icing on the cake, and USC is not going to get in if they lose
01:25to UCLA.
01:26But outside of that, the other teams that we're looking at on the board, I can't see Ohio State sneaking
01:33in there.
01:34I could definitely see LSU probably sneaking in there, but I don't see nobody else on that board.
01:40I could see Ole Miss falling to 14 and LSU jumping up to 10.
01:44Tennessee might be a team that that's the only team that I can see that fans will have a gripe
01:50if they don't make it into the playoffs is Tennessee.
01:52Tennessee, everybody else can move and shuffle boards, but Tennessee, and I would say one more, but the winner and
01:57loser between Utah and BYU.
02:00Ain't nobody going to be mad if Tennessee don't get in outside of the people in Tennessee, man.
02:03What are you talking about?
02:05They ain't got no sway.
02:07To Peyton Manning might be mad.
02:10I think Tennessee has a shot.
02:12Bro, no, no, no, no, no, no.
02:14You said people might be mad if Tennessee don't get in.
02:17I'm telling you, ain't nobody going to be mad if Tennessee don't get in.
02:20Just like ain't nobody going to be mad if UCLA don't get in.
02:23But what about the game they had against, what was that?
02:26Was it Georgia or Bama when they had a great game?
02:29All right, let me paint a picture for you.
02:32Here's the fence, okay?
02:34Notre Dame is on one side with two losses.
02:36Tennessee is on the other side with one loss.
02:38Who do you think going?
02:39Notre Dame.
02:42Who's Notre Dame?
02:43All right, we look at that Notre Dame schedule.
02:46Who they played that's really good outside of the game we got this weekend.
02:49Outside of the game we got this weekend.
02:51Notre Dame has played all right teams, but we see how Notre Dame is when they get into
02:56the playoffs.
02:57They get cooked because they haven't seen no competition like this all year.
03:00They might be good enough recruiting-wise to get there, but once they're in there,
03:04they can't do nothing.
03:06You're not hearing what I'm saying.
03:08I don't even disagree with you, but I'm telling you the truth, okay?
03:12The Golden Dome ain't getting left out, okay?
03:15That you ain't leaving out Notre Dame.
03:18Rudy will play in the CFP, buddy.
03:21I don't know what to tell you.
03:22What are they, grandfathered in now?
03:25It might be.
03:26Read the fireprint.
03:28It might be.
03:30How much money are they giving the committee to keep putting them in there and lose?
03:34I want to know.
03:35The committee running a business.
03:38And there's a couple teams that even if you close, you good for business.
03:42Notre Dame's one of them.
03:44Alabama's the other one.
03:45Because, again, everywhere these teams go, they sell the stadium out,
03:49and people watch it on television.
03:52We keep acting like this is really just about football.
03:55If you put it in the hands of the committee, they going to, as Ray Charles said,
04:00I'm going to make it do what it do, baby.
04:01I'm going to get Notre Dame in this thing.
04:03I just, I just, I will say this.
04:05I wouldn't even say certain teams, certain conferences, when you put them in there,
04:09it just makes you do it.
04:10Notre Dame ain't got no conference.
04:11No, no, no.
04:12I'll say any SEC team I put in there is going to make it do what it do.
04:18For God's sake, we have Kentucky on the board right now.
04:24Well, they deserve it, though.
04:25I will say they deserve it.
04:27No, they deserve it.
04:28Kentucky and UCLA are in the same boat.
04:30They're in the same boat.
04:32Hold on.
04:32Let me explain.
04:32Let me explain.
04:33No, they've had great years.
04:35They're normally not in this position, but because both those teams have had really great
04:40years, they deserve to be there.
04:43And at the end of it, shouldn't get snaked out of it.
04:47I would say that.
04:48That's a great point.
04:49But I would say Kentucky's in a whole different ballgame compared to UCLA.
04:53UCLA is winning games straight up off a straight, off a discipline.
04:57Kentucky is winning games off of style points.
04:59Did you see what they did to LSU in overtime win?
05:01They are winning games because of their offensive coordinator, right?
05:07They're winning games because their offense is looking like how Oregon's office is supposed
05:11to be looking.
05:12It's true.
05:13The person that was at Oregon left and went to Kentucky.
05:16And now Kentucky looking like Oregon.
05:19Kentucky ducks.
05:20That's what I'm going to start calling them.
05:21That's how good that offense is looking right now.
