03:44I try to respond right away because if it's important to you, it's important to me.
03:48You guys are what make this show go around.
03:50Today, we are talking WWE Crown Jewel reactions and analysis.
03:55Let's get right to it.
03:56The fact that they started the show with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton kind of surprised me a little bit,
04:01but you do have to start off with a bang, and this was a big match, marquee match.
04:05And before I get into winners and losers, if you tuned into my episode the other day where I predicted
04:09every match on the card, I was wrong about every single match on this card in terms of who's going
04:16to win and who's going to lose, which blows my mind.
04:19But it is what it is.
04:20I'm thrilled with the show.
04:22I really am.
04:22We get to see the fact that, you know, Cody Rhodes is going to be heading into this John Cena
04:26Classic.
04:27I guess they want to keep him strong for that.
04:29I still think Randy Orton winning this match would have been a better move because it gives a championship contender
04:34to Sami Zayn, and then Cody could go on to his tournament for the John Cena Classic and do whatever
04:40he's going to do there.
04:41And that, to me, would have been the gateway to getting him back into the world title picture.
04:45Instead, with him winning this, you've kind of thrust him back into there anyways.
04:49He made that clear on SmackDown.
04:50So I'm not a fan of that part of the booking, but Cody Rhodes threw a very hard-fought match.
04:56He does eventually hit the punt kick.
04:58You know, Orton tried to.
04:59He missed it.
05:00Cody Rhodes does hit it after a couple, I think it was three crossroads in a row.
05:04There was a lot of high-impact moves here, the cutters, all that stuff.
05:09But he does eventually get the punt kick to Randy Orton, and he pins him, and he picks up the
05:13win.
05:14I'm fine with the match.
05:15The match was really, really good, if we're being completely honest, you know.
05:18And we've got to say this, too, before I keep going down the rabbit hole of the show.
05:22No concerns safety-wise.
05:23Everything was good.
05:24I'm thrilled for the talent.
05:25Now we've just got to get him home safely, and this would have paid off for TKO if they pulled
05:31this thing off with no serious issues.
05:34That being said, we go into the tag team championship match.
05:38The Vision defending against Braun Breaker and Austin Theory.
05:44Now here's the thing.
05:45I did not expect at any point in time that Penta and Javon Evans were going to win the tag
05:50titles.
05:50When they pick up the win, I was absolutely stunned.
05:54Gobsmacked.
05:55One of these guys is carrying on the Money in the Bank briefcase.
05:57Why you would put a tag team championship on him that means he's going to have to pick up a
06:02loss before he cashes in that briefcase, I don't understand.
06:05Not to mention the fact that his brother, who he's a natural fit to be a tag team with, is
06:10in the company, and you could have, if you're going to have him with the briefcase, you could have put
06:14him with the AAA Cruiserweight Champion.
06:16Had the Lucha Brothers against the Vision, that would have made more sense to me.
06:20Instead, we did have a really good match back and forth.
06:23I thought Austin Theory looked really solid in this match, and really, I thought he would look better than Braun
06:28did.
06:28I feel like they've really taken Braun Breaker down a peg, you know, in terms of believability, credibility, and obviously
06:35with them losing the championships here, Braun looked really foolish.
06:38He leaves the ring, and for those who didn't see the show, we have Bronson Reed come out and he
06:42attacks Penta outside the ring, and then we have Oba Femi's music hit.
06:48And when Oba comes out, he totally annihilates Bronson Reed with an uppercut and then puts him through two tables
06:54set up near the entryway.
06:55And as he's coming to the ring, it's a distraction for Braun Breaker, who turns his back on his partner
07:00and instead focuses on Oba, which leads to Javon Evans and Penta Penta hitting the Mexican Destroyer, Javon hitting his
07:08cutter and picking up the pin.
07:10And look, it was a great match. It really was.
07:12I thought Austin Theory did a lot to really make himself look good in this match.
07:16I actually kind of wish he didn't pick up the pin.
07:18I was more impressed with him than anybody in this entire match.
07:21But whatever, we'll go with it. We'll see where we go from here.
07:23I think we need to have somebody credible come in to be a threat to those tag titles, and it
07:28needs to not be the Vision.
07:29You know, the Vision stuff, it's getting way too old. It's out of date. It's stale.
07:33We need somebody new to step up and be the new challengers for that belt.
07:37Could this be where we see an Enzo and Cass emergence?
07:40You know, we're going to need somebody legit to take on the new champs.
07:43I don't know. We'll have to wait and see.
07:46From there, the card was, I don't want to say it was stacked, but the card had just enough to
07:53get through the show and make you feel like if you were somebody buying this, like on a pay-per
07:56-view back in the olden days, it would have been worthwhile.
07:58When you get into the crown jewel matches, man, I really didn't think that there was going to be all
08:07that much to talk about.
08:08I really didn't. I felt like everything was pretty well laid out.
08:11I thought we were going to see some 9-4-6 interference.
08:14I thought we were going to see, you know, if we saw a Tiffany Stratton situation in the women's one,
08:19it would be with her and Liv.
08:21But anyways, I digress. We get to see the women's match first.
08:28And to Chelsea Green's credit, I've been saying it for a couple weeks now, Chelsea Green was the technician in
08:34this match.
08:35And Liv is a fantastic worker. Don't get me wrong. I'm not taking anything from Liv Morgan.
08:38But I love the finish of this match where Liv is going for an oblivion after there was all the
08:44outside interference and all that stuff, which I'm getting so tired of.
08:46It makes it so I wish I would turn off the match as soon as Judgment Day ran out.
08:51I'm glad I didn't because when they come out, Chelsea Green kind of quells their concerns.
08:56And then Liv is in the ring. She goes to hit oblivion and Chelsea Green holds onto the rope.
09:01And then she rolls up Liv Morgan, puts her feet back and pins her.
09:05And Chelsea Green is the winner and the new crown jewel champion.
09:09I love that for Chelsea Green.
09:11And they gave her a ring and the belt and she's posing and she's doing her promo.
09:14And as she's getting ready to say the greatest women's champion of all time, kind of stealing Liv Morgan's phrase,
09:19Liv attacks her from behind.
09:21And as things are about to go down, Tiffany Stratton's music hits.
09:24And Tiffany makes her way to the ring.
09:27And, you know, Judgment Day is at ringside.
09:30And we see Chelsea take out Judgment Day and Liv is down.
09:35It is so obvious what they were going to do.
09:38And as soon as it was obvious to me, I was like, oh, God, please don't let them do this.
09:42This is terrible. Please don't let them do it.
09:44Liv was right there for the taking.
09:46There was no reason for her to turn heel.
09:49All your job is as the Money in the Bank winner is to take out the easy target with your
09:53Money in the Bank contract.
09:55Liv was prone on the ground.
09:57You use the briefcase anyways.
09:59She ends up using the briefcase on Chelsea Green to knock her out.
10:02You could have slammed it onto Liv Morgan, who's already laid out in the ring and just made sure the
10:06deed was done.
10:07And won the World Heavyweight Championship.
10:08Instead, she goes after Chelsea Green, hits her with the briefcase, prettiest moonsault ever, and she is the new WWE
10:14Women's Champion.
10:15That's fine.
10:16I hate it, but it's fine.
10:18What I did not like and I thought was disgusting because it takes away the whole point of the tour
10:23of the match is she picked up the championship ring and the belt for the crown jewel championship and walked
10:29off with those as well.
10:30I'm sorry to Tiffany Stratton, but the match was not, she was not cashing in for her crown jewel championship.
10:39It is for a, not two, a championship opportunity.
10:43So she should have walked away with one belt.
10:45Should have given Chelsea, the other belt should have stayed in the ring.
10:48And the ring should have stayed in the ring.
10:50Kind of ridiculous.
10:51I hated that.
10:53I thought it was, it's almost as bad as Obafemi winning the king of the ring and doing nothing with
10:57it.
10:57I hated everything about this.
10:59From there, we go to the main event.
11:00Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn.
11:02This was probably the best match I've ever seen these two have.
11:06That includes the one in Montreal that I felt like Sami should have won.
11:10This was great.
11:11I really thought 946 was going to get involved.
11:14I thought they were going to cost Roman the match.
11:16It did not happen.
11:17This match went down clean.
11:19Roman Reigns all this year has been winning clean.
11:21He really has.
11:24So when this is going on, we end up seeing Roman hitting a spear at the end and another spear.
11:29He beats Sami Zayn.
11:31He beats him clean.
11:32But that is not, for me, the exciting part.
11:34The exciting part is after the match, when Sami, who is playing a heel right now, sticks out his hand
11:40to Roman and tells him that he owes him at least that.
11:42It took everything he had to beat him.
11:44After everything, after the acknowledgements, all that stuff, he deserves at least a handshake and the respect.
11:50And Roman smacks his hand away and then he hugs Sami Zayn.
11:54I actually thought 946 was still going to attack at that moment.
11:57I'm actually glad they didn't because this was a genuine, it felt like a genuine emotional moment between competitors who
12:03have a history and it was beautiful and I loved everything about it.
12:07Roman puts Sami's over in Saudi Arabia.
12:10He goes to hold up Roman's hand, Roman reverses it and he raises Sami's hand and he points to Sami
12:15and he gives him all that respect.
12:17And then eventually he gets his championship belt, his ring, which it looked like did not fit on his finger.
12:22And then he looks out to the crowd and he gets the microphone and he's like, you know, kingdom of
12:26Saudi Arabia, acknowledge me and drops the mic.
12:28And that's the end of the show.
12:29So let's talk about some of the things that frustrated me.
12:31Okay, obviously the Tiffany Stratton cash in trash.
12:35The way she did it trash.
12:37The other part that really bothered me in this show was in the tag team championship match.
12:45Again, we had to see someone grab someone's foot and put it on the bottom rope.
12:49And Maxine Dupree did that with Austin Theory at one point.
12:52If I see that spot again, I want to throw up.
12:54In addition, during the Randy Ote and Cody Rhodes match, another low blow spot.
12:59It's like we can't have a PLE without a low blow spot, a foot on the rope spot, a whole
13:05bunch of people getting interfering and coming out.
13:07It's getting ridiculous.
13:09You don't have to book that way.
13:11Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn's match proves that you don't have to have a schmoz ending in every match to
13:16have a credible, believable match.
13:17Their match was phenomenal.
13:18That was actually a match of the year candidate for me in terms of WWE programming.
13:22I'm not going to argue back and forth with people about WWE AEW.
13:26In terms of WWE programming, that was a phenomenal match, top to bottom.
13:29And for anybody who doesn't like Roman Reigns, you got an issue and you deal with that yourself.
13:33That was a great match on his behalf.
13:35Sami Zayn showing the world why he really is one of the best wrestlers in the world.
13:39Glad he's getting his flowers and getting a run with the WWE championship.
13:41He deserves it.
13:42I'll be curious to see where they go from here.
13:44Obviously, we know what's going on with War Games.
13:46We know it's going to be Bloodline versus 946.
13:48We know Jacob will come back at some point.
13:50He'll be the fifth.
13:51Not sure what's going on yet with the Women's War Games.
13:53I thought we might have gotten some clarity tonight.
13:55We did not.
13:57Where does Sami go from here?
13:59Probably face Kevin Owens after defeating CM Punk on SmackDown.
14:02We'll have to wait and see.
14:04It makes a lot of sense.
14:05But let's be honest, I'm actually kind of over that too.
14:07We've been seeing that for the last 25 years.
14:09I'm ready for Sami Zayn to have some big feud with somebody other than Kevin Owens.
14:13But I don't know.
14:14We'll have to see.
14:15Do me a favor though.
14:16Down below, tell me in the comments what you thought of Crown Jewel.
14:18Did you like the way it went down?
14:20I've admitted I was wrong about every single match that was on the card.
14:23And I'm okay with that because I don't have a problem with anybody who won tonight.
14:26I just think there's reasons why it should have gone the other direction.
14:30But in the end, it doesn't matter.
14:31I'm a nobody.
14:32They're the people in the power and control.
14:34If I was booking, I just would have booked it differently.
14:37What would you have done?
14:38Do you agree with what they did?
14:39Do you agree with all the winners?
14:40Is there somebody you think should have won that didn't win?
14:43Let me know.
14:44But we will be back in a couple days with our next episode of Wrestling News and Rumors.
14:50At the end of the day, we try to bring these to you as often as we can, as frequently
14:55as we can.
14:56It gets difficult sometimes.
14:57You know, I've got a crazy schedule in my personal life.
14:59I am an educator by trade, so I'm always busy.
15:03But I will keep bringing the content to you.
15:05That is a special thanks to all of you.
