05:09smackdown before the show starts we do get a video released on x from shinsuke nakamura and kiyoki bakusai they
05:16are putting out a warning to tamatanga and the mfts because they're going to have a match this evening and
05:22here's the thing and i'm not trying to be like a jerk when i say this i just don't care
05:27i feel like the the wwe tag team championship has never been more irrelevant in the history of that championship
05:35and that breaks my heart because even though i know wwe doesn't like to focus
05:39on tag team wrestling i have always loved the wwe tag team championship going all the way back the first
05:45time i really fell in love with that championship and because i was i was too young to really appreciate
05:50when they had the championship belts that like uh pedro morales and and you know people like that held um
05:56my first real experience with the wwe tag team championship was barry windham and mike rotundo they won those titles
06:03from dick murdoch and uh uh adrian adonis
06:06and i love that style of belt and then they came out with the the more conventional style that the
06:11british bulldogs and the heart foundation and the road warriors had and from there when they went into you know
06:16as they changed the design of the belt over the years i still always love that championship i actually didn't
06:23like the smackdown tag team championship when that came out because i felt like it was a throwback to the
06:27original tag team championship
06:29i like the ones that kane and rvd used to have like they always seemed to really pop my attention
06:33with the tag team championship belt design so that being said when you get into this situation where you know
06:38you had
06:38the motor city machine guns had them and you had you know the the the wyatt six had them for
06:45a while and you had people like that like it it's there was a period for a couple weeks back
06:51going back a year year and a half now at this point
06:53where i thought the titles were going to start to mean something but now you fast forward to now since
06:58the wyatt six and mfts had their feud in february in january of this of this year
07:04then it that's where it got stale it got boring i feel like we have not moved those titles at
07:10all since that wyatt six feud at all you know let's be honest with the tag team championships don't get
07:15defended all that often to begin with
07:17you know damian priest and rtruth were a makeshift tag team put in there to take the titles just so
07:22that they could release the wyatt six
07:23and give damian priest something to do while he was waiting for rhea ripley to come back which never
07:27happened so they just they're they're cast off they're an afterthought the women's tag team
07:32championship is more important than the wwe tag team championship think about that a belt that
07:37some people didn't think ever needed to be created the belt that got so disrespected when it first came
07:40out a belt that led to sasha banks and naomi walking out of the company is now far more prestigious
07:46far more
07:46interesting than the wwe tag team championship and that's not knocking the talent of the mfts it just doesn't matter
07:51you know and and since kiyoki debuted with wwe he's almost more of a comedy act than he has a
07:57serious
07:57talent they've done nothing with these two teams so i don't know so we're gonna get that match a little
08:02later we're gonna start the show with sammy zane coming out he's cutting a promo talking about what
08:07went down on raw um talking about his match with roman reigns wanting his respect what i loved is he
08:13gets
08:13interrupted by jimmy uso who comes out and jimmy was very honest with him you know he used to be
08:17my dog
08:18you know it's kicking everything holding me back from beating you down right now kind of thing
08:22and sammy zane kind of reinforces like listen i'll always be your dog but you of all people
08:27should understand um he's roman does what he does because that's what he needs to do to stay on top
08:32and sammy's doing the same thing and he feels like jimmy should understand that and i thought it
08:38was a good segment you know i really did and sammy it looked like he was getting ready to leave
08:41and as he goes to leave here comes the 9-4-6 and they attack jimmy uso and sammy is
08:47standing on the
08:48apron just watching this beatdown happen you know bronco nema lucian price cruise montana carmelo
08:53hayes they hit the ring first and it's four on one a few seconds later you see royce keys enter
08:58the
08:59ring with jada parker and as sammy stands there they stop beating down jimmy uso for a minute they
09:04look at sammy zane and this would have been the moment i'm just i'm not trying to be that guy
09:07but god
09:08this could have been such a big moment can you imagine if sammy would have started to turn away
09:14and the and they 9-4-6 goes back to beating jimmy and then sammy charged into the ring and
09:19defended
09:19jimmy that place would have come unglued it would have turned him baby face all over again you would
09:25have instantly taken him from like the one of the most hated heels right now and turned him into one
09:28of the most beloved baby faces just because he jumped to jimmy's defense they didn't do that they
09:33went a different way instead he turns his back and he lets jimmy get beat down he climbs down off
09:37the
09:37apron and the beat down continues he stands at ringside with his backs mostly turned and just
09:41knows that this is happening horrible horrible character for the guy now you've given him that
09:48nuclear heat heading into crown jewel so this was perfectly done 9-4-6 i really didn't need to see
09:54them again but whatever i i understand it because we're heading towards war games as a matter of fact
09:59in jimmy uso's promo he said how they're going to war with them obviously implying that war games is
10:03coming so this was actually really really good this was really intense um i i like this segment
10:09it's a good way to start the show um we then go into the back ray phoenix is walking and
10:14he walks
10:15past sammy zane kind of blows him off because he's frustrated with the way zane left jimmy uso
10:21sitting out there alone um as he walks by a little later in in the frame comes johnny gargano and
10:27candace
10:27la ray and they're talking to sammy zane and zane it's very obvious what's going on here i love the
10:32way
10:32they did it you know we're sitting here waiting for johnny gargano's waiting to get his world
10:36championship opportunity that sammy zane promised him he hasn't given him yet and sammy's like oh
10:40you know with all these people coming at me we just haven't had the time and you know and now
10:43with
10:44people like ray phoenix the way they're looking at me and i feel like you know with his brother
10:48penta having the briefcase i feel like he's trying to do something and it was very much implying that
10:54sammy is sending johnny gargano to go after ray phoenix without saying it he's manipulating
11:01him into getting him to do what he wants to do and that will lead to him getting a championship
11:06match and then sammy zane says he's going to go to nick aldis and set up a match for for
11:10johnny
11:10gargano which we don't see any follow-up to this you know this is where we should have seen a
11:15backstage part where like johnny gargano attacked ray phoenix we should have seen him walk into his
11:20into nick aldis's office but we didn't actually i guess we shouldn't have seen him walk into the
11:24office because you know he's not actually going to try to give him that match that's going to
11:27probably lead to a baby face turn for johnny g at some point but uh again it's good stuff it
11:33was
11:33well written it was obvious what was going on which you know some people oh i don't want to know
11:37what's
11:38going to yeah you kind of do it's kind of like watching you know evening drama television you can
11:43see things that are coming and they make sense this made a lot of sense you know he's playing on
11:47the
11:47fact that johnny gargano is trusting him and he probably shouldn't be from there we get the match
11:52we get shinsuke nakamura taking on tamatanga not a fan of the match um i do love that shinsuke got
11:59some offense in it's the first time in quite a while i feel like shinsuke has really been featured
12:03as a premium talent but the match was is the match was fine but the fans had no interest because
12:10like
12:11i said before there has been nothing to make this feud relevant nothing you know what we can't get
12:18invested and i don't know wait maybe we put this match on because a bunch of the talent is over
12:22in saudi arabia i don't know but i didn't need this what i need is i need these two teams
12:28to
12:28have a match for the tag titles and for it to be a finish a clean finish and be done
12:32i don't care who
12:33wins it what i need after that is whoever the next challengers are to step up and make those tag
12:38team
12:38championships matter again because right now they don't they don't mean anything and it's really
12:43bugging me so i couldn't care less nakamura picks up the win after kinshasa when everybody's
12:48distracted because kiyoki's outside you know trying to distract this you know he's hitting moves on
12:54talatanga he's he's screwing around with haku and that distracts everybody and it leads to the
12:59kinshasa for the win jackie redmond is in the back talking to cm punk who was you know he's on
13:04this
13:04whole like this incident that took place 20 years ago between he and kevin owens the ko obviously was
13:10a big day in his career but to punk it was like just another day at the office he doesn't
13:13even
13:13remember it happening barely um i thought it was good stuff it furthers the feud almost makes punk
13:18into the bad guy which i don't mind so much we don't really have a bad guy in this feud
13:22um but
13:24it was still really well done and it had that you know work shoot feel to it um from there
13:29we get
13:30gunther's music hits he comes to the ring he is you know i don't know why they would act like
13:35anybody implied that he was afraid of the demon a week prior because i don't i didn't get that vibe
13:39at all but he says that which of course is going to bring he calls finn balor out wants him
13:43to come
13:44to the ring he's talking about how he's over the hill he's past his prime and all this he needs
13:47to
13:47be retiring and all this stuff and maybe that's where we're headed maybe gunther's going to retire
13:52finn balor i don't know i hope not i think finn can still go at a super high level so
13:58i don't want
13:58to see that anytime soon but finn does come out without the demon face paint he says the demon is
14:03within him he asks you know people ask him what he taps into he doesn't even know and then he
14:07gets
14:08into the ring and the brawl starts and this is a good one it goes back and forth quite a
14:11bit and at
14:12the end we do see finn balor get the upper hand where he's hitting his sling blade and his drop
14:16kick and he's going to go for coup de grace but then gunther rolls out of the ring what i
14:20think is
14:21obvious about this is you've now let balor go over strong twice without it being an actual match which
14:27means that once the actual match takes place gunther wins now i think he should anyways but it's kind of
14:33giving that away when you keep having balor be so strong in the lead up to the actual
14:37match then we get to the women's tag team championship match there was a segment in the
14:43back where they talked to me chin b fab um i apologize it was they talked about me chin and
14:49b fab they were talking to fatal influence um they were kind of ignoring byron saxon as he was trying
14:54to interview him until the last minute they finally turned around then honestly every member of fatal
14:58influence i thought caught a good promo i really did this was actually one of the more impressive
15:03speaking moments for them which kind of goes along with what i said in a previous episode
15:06last time we saw the baddies i thought b fab really wowed me with her promo that time so this
15:12was nice to see fatal influence do the same thing they head to the ring and they're about to have
15:16their match and when they get into the ring this is heel on heel they do this really corny part
15:21at
15:22the beginning where they both go for the same moves and the same kicks and the same punches and
15:26all that it's kind of weird like there's like a blueprint for how bad people wrestle or heels wrestle
15:32at the end of the day the match does not get a firm conclusion which is something i think would
15:37have really helped this storyline but instead what we have is alexa bliss and tatum paxley come out
15:42and they get involved and we have a whole disqualification thing go on meet you to be fab
15:47retain it is i thought we were headed towards a three-way i thought we were gonna have a triple
15:52threat women's tag team match probably at survivor series or something like that instead that is not
15:58what we're gonna get what ends up happening as this whole melee and fighting and brawling goes down
16:02bailey appears and bailey is attacking and you remember on raw she had her issues with meachin
16:08b fab and jade cargill and when things the numbers are getting the better here comes charlotte flair for
16:15the first time her music hits she runs to the ring they chase off all the heels and we get
16:20a segment in
16:21the back where charlotte talks about the fact that they are looking they want them for war games
16:25they want fatal influence the baddies and jade cargill at war games now here's the problem with
16:31that that's six people against four now are we going to do six on six are we only going to
16:37do five on
16:38five and somebody's out somebody else i don't know they haven't clarified i'm actually pulling for the
16:43six on six i really am i think that would be really cool to have the full three members of
16:48fatal
16:49influence plus jade cargill meachin and b fab going against bailey charlotte tatum paxley alexa bliss
16:55and two other people and here's the thing i don't know who you make the other two because i think
17:00becky and stephanie still need to do their thing on raw so they're out um we have judgment day is
17:05tied up with other things obviously they're out um there's not you start going down the roster like
17:10who's left and i feel like what they kind of need to do because this is so smackdown heavy
17:15is that the women's tag team champions meachin and b fab need to go to raw and mess with somebody
17:21there
17:21that leads to another two people coming over and joining us now eo is tied up with judgment day so
17:26that's out um i just i don't know who's left that you put in there unless you shock everybody and
17:32do
17:32something totally out of the box and have them bring you know call in some shooters like ivy nile
17:37and jordan grace the tag team that we've been told about for months now is going to be a thing
17:42and hasn't
17:42come to fruition yet so i don't know we'll have to wait and see who joins the team but something
17:47clearly is going to happen um bailey was going at jc jane charlotte was going after jade cargo we're
17:52going to see a bailey jc jane thing now i'd be okay with that is bailey moving the smackdown i
17:56might
17:56be okay with that too get her away from lyra valkyria um but it is obvious that that ladies war
18:01games match is going to be absolutely killer i can't wait to see that we get a backstage segment
18:05with kevin owens it's a counterbalance to the cm punk segment because we got to do that before any
18:09main event heaven forbid um and just more of the same stuff it was really well written well well
18:14delivered ko is as believable as it gets made me actually look forward to this match because i
18:20really wasn't um i i thought this should have been on a ple i really do but this got me
18:26into it i was
18:27excited ko you know pulling no punches again work shoot vibe to it from there we get chelsea green with
18:33nick outis and this was cool because chelsea was showing some emotion and she that was like the home
18:38run of this segment all about how she has to win a crown jewel to prove that all this was
18:42real it wasn't
18:43her getting lucky she was she earned this she's not going to be you know a a legendary person who
18:50could put her name next to all the greats if she doesn't win this they get interrupted by live morgan
18:56who runs her down so much and i understand it that's kind of what you have to do but this
19:03would i i don't
19:04know man i i really thought this was great work by chelsea i really i thought she did a fantastic
19:09job
19:10so um obviously i i have talked about in my prediction episode that live morgan i think is
19:16going to win and be a two-time champion but then she said that here and that's making me question
19:21my own call and that whole emotional piece for chelsea i think i really want chelsea to win now
19:26i'm not going to amend my predictions i still say live's going to win but i want chelsea to win
19:31so bad
19:31and it's not a baby face heel thing it is a young lady who told the truth about her journey
19:37about how
19:38hard she's fought for this how she's never felt respected she's never felt like she belonged and
19:43then she gets this opportunity she's a she's an emotional mess and she gets this opportunity
19:47for her to win i think would be just monumentally huge and i feel like she deserves it when you
19:54watch
19:55that match on raw this week she was as crisp in the ring as anybody in the women's locker room
20:00and
20:00that includes the beckys the charlottes all that i think she deserves it i really do so i am pulling
20:06for chelsea more than i could possibly describe even though i don't think she's going to win
20:10so we'll have to wait and see we get a segment back trick williams he is now turning his attention
20:15to damian priest fantastic i feel like we should have had something physical with them last week
20:19though we haven't had that yet um but and then that leads into damian priest having a match this week
20:24with nathan frazier of fraxium you want to re-establish this guy as a big time heel and
20:30i feel like he's he's instead of being a big time heel he's big cast that's what he is he's
20:35a big guy
20:35who's beating up on tiny guys because they don't know what to do with him and they don't want to
20:39put him in a premium program yet and they're getting him ready for trick williams but i do
20:42really think he's going to beat trick for the title and if he does good i'm okay with that damian
20:46priest needs some championship gold that's not the tag team title brain that didn't mean
20:50anything um but at the same time so he ends up putting frazier through a table outside the ring
20:55they call off the match i don't like that this calling off match thing because our truth got
21:00hurt in a real match i don't love that and then he ends up attacking axiom as well and puts
21:04him
21:04through the guardrail so good stuff good heel heat for damian priest curious to see what they do with
21:10that united states championship and him and trick williams obviously it's headed that way but uh yeah i
21:16don't know i don't know do you put that a survivor series maybe or is this something you keep on
21:20television because for some reason you feel like you need to do that and where are some of the
21:23other talents lately like baron corbin who's in there he won the u.s title he lost the title he
21:28disappeared for a while he came back he had a great moment i thought on the show and then he
21:33goes away
21:33again and when he faced cody i thought it was a solid match and corbin's been gone now for weeks
21:38again it's like i really wish we could just get some consistency with all the guys on the roster
21:43and really just cultivate great talent giving great opportunities then we get to our main event kevin
21:48owens versus cm punk very brutal match constant back and forth i'm not a no last man standing or
21:53a no holds barred kind of fan really normally but this was pretty good there was nothing wrong with
21:58it i just wish that we had gotten a little bit different um i don't know a different ending
22:05because this was so anticlimactic to me that there should have been some huge spots something like
22:11off a ladder or something like you're you're in a no holds barred thing you can use anything and
22:17instead we're grabbing a chain and wrapping around a leg of a chair or whatever i didn't love
22:22it kevin owens picks up the win i'm sure that means he's going to go on to face sammy zane
22:26and he
22:26should i think it's you know every time these two get in the ring it's magic anyway so i'm fine
22:30with
22:31the match i'm fine with the outcome i just kind of wish we would have gotten some big blow off
22:37to
22:37the end of the match now what does cm punk do from here who does he end up in a
22:41feud with i don't know
22:43and we keep in mind we've got people like drew mcintyre returning soon we've got sammy zane
22:48who's obviously going to work with kevin owens but we still have randy orton who wants his
22:51championship opportunity is this going to lead to a cm punk randy orton kind of thing i'd be okay
22:55with that too i think that'd be a great match um i'm not sure we have to keep our eyes
22:58on this but
22:59all in all i try to give these shows a star rating i'm not dave meltzer i don't believe in
23:03some
23:03of the craziness he does there was a lot that i liked on the show there was a lot that
23:07i just didn't
23:08care i didn't care about the nakamura match with tamatanga i didn't really i was i wanted to see
23:14the the main event but i didn't love the ending of the main event um i was left like i
23:19don't care
23:19about the the damian priest stuff i loved everything about the women's tag team stuff i thought that was
23:25great so i'm really in the middle so i'm going to go right in the moment give it three stars
23:28out of
23:28five um that's that's that's my rating it's what i'm going with but what is more important to me is
23:33what do you go with what are your thoughts what do you think about smackdown tonight give me some
23:37comments down below i'll respond to them as soon as i get them you know do you think they did
23:41the
23:41right thing in that main event putting the kevin owens over cm punk you know what do you think punk's
23:46doing next what do you think of the women's war games are they going to go six on six if
23:50they do
23:50what two women are they adding or are they going to knock it down to five on five if that's
23:53the case
23:54who's getting knocked out from those two factions and who's being added as the fifth member i don't
23:58care how you want to cut it please give me a comment of whatever kind you choose and i will
