00:00Hey Vogue, it's Carlos and I'm going to walk you through my morning wellness routine.
00:03My first step, lighting a candle. Why not?
00:08When I take care of my face, somebody will always be a shower. In this case,
00:12for the purpose of this video, I'm going to use some spray, some water.
00:17I'm going to go with this.
00:20I started realizing that it was time to take care of myself.
00:24I had a few moments in my life. One, the first time I saw white hair in my hair,
00:30I was like, oh, come on. I think I was 26, 27 at the time.
00:34As you see, I'm not very gentle. I like doing it tough and I don't know why.
00:38I'm not like gentle hands. I have hands from the gym, a lot of colors, but I like doing it
00:45hard.
00:45I don't know why. Okay, wash it off. Okay, just dry my face.
00:51I need my hair. Next step, we will go with a L'Oreal Serum. I would definitely use this,
00:57especially in hot conditions, summer conditions. I feel like my skin gets dehydrated. I spend a lot
01:02of hours cycling in the sun, a lot of hours playing golf, especially in the summer. And I feel like
01:07if I don't do this, my skin will take a toll for sure. I'm a bit tan, as you see
01:13from the summer, and
01:14I now need to make sure I hydrate my skin, especially this month of the year.
01:22Then we would have the eye masks. It's not something I do every day. In a lot of the planes,
01:26people are wearing them a lot when taking off. And it's a bit weird. It's a bit funny because you
01:31see a lot of people wearing them. And I fell in the trend. And since I started seeing a difference,
01:37I started using it too. Other things I want to, or I like doing for wellness,
01:42are having my supplements every morning. A glass of water every morning, first thing when I wake up,
01:48my supplements with water. And then a mobility routine, just to stretch my body. I always feel
01:53very tight after waking up. And I feel like it's the best moment to mobilize it, stretch it, and get
01:58the day started. Okay, yeah. This is what I mean. Like, you will randomly see people on airplanes now,
02:05spending the whole flight with this on. After this, normally, for me, would go hydration cream,
02:12especially more recently. I don't know why. A bit with stress, I get a bit of dry patches in my
02:18mustache and my... I don't know if it's stress, I don't know if it's just the weather, but I need
02:24to be
02:25careful, especially when I shave a lot, which recently I have been, even if it doesn't look like it.
02:34One of the biggest misconceptions, I think, towards motorsport in general, I would say
02:39that you don't need to be fit to drive a Formula One car. I actually think we are. We need
02:44to be
02:45really fit. The races are around an hour and a half long. And for sure, we're consuming around
02:531,500 calories in that hour and a half. So it's almost like a half marathon for people to understand.
02:59So every Sunday, we're racing a half marathon. We need to be cardiovascularly very fit. We need to
03:05have strong necks, strong upper bodies, strong core, glutes to sustain all the g-forces that a
03:11Formula One has. So I think that's one of the biggest things that people think we're just sitting
03:16down driving without doing much. And I would move on. If I'm going to be in the sun, if it's
03:21going to be
03:21hot, obviously everyone, you guys know by now the sunscreen is fundamental. I'm having a bit of dry skin
03:28now also because I'm peeling a bit. Maybe I didn't put as much sunscreen as I should have the other
03:33day
03:34playing golf. After sunscreen, just a bit of body moisturizer in the areas where you need it the
03:40most. I'm going to apply wherever I'm peeling a bit from the sun damage that I've caught the other
03:45day cycling and golfing. So I don't do it every day, but whenever you need it.
03:55What gets me into my zone is just being on my own thoughts. I really enjoy silence. Maybe because
04:00I don't hear silence very often during my work. I think it's very important to talk to yourself in
04:06silence and be very honest about the things that are bothering you, the things that you can do
04:11better, the things where you're not doing well enough and be constructive about it. It is never
04:16positive to be too harsh on yourself, but always to try and find a solution. I like being self-critical,
04:23but at the same time, I like putting together a plan or a solution that is going to make me
04:27be a better person or a better athlete or a better brother, a better boyfriend, a better son.
04:33My last touch will for sure be putting the aftershave on. I always believe in a gentleman smelling like a
04:42gentleman, always smelling good and a good aftershave is always fundamental for that. There is one last step,
04:50which is this. When you go to a red carpet, like I did a few months ago when I went
04:56to Cannes, when you put
04:57a nice watch and the suit on, it is time to comb your hair. Again, I will not do it
05:02every day, but the
05:03days I do, for sure I will comb it. You can see now it leaves it a bit too organized
05:10to me. That's why I prefer
05:12with the hands. For men nowadays, there's a stigma of grooming and taking care of yourself that maybe
05:21you don't feel very comfortable with, but I've realized that nowadays pretty much every man,
05:25every man does it. Don't be shy about it, share it. Now that we're done, I'm going to...
05:32It does not look very good, this one. Remember to take care of yourself. Thank you very much,
05:36Pong. See you next time.
