00:00Hello, thanks for your question and welcome to my channel, Buscadores.
00:05I'm Ruman Garcia, the defense analyst.
00:09In today's report we are going to talk about the characteristics of a possible Eurofighter Steel
00:18based on the recommendations of our great collaborator XZ and Coña additions that we have made from the channel
00:26and also the strategic advantages that having such a stealth house for our country would bring to Spain.
00:36The Spanish Eurofighter in its current configuration is a 4.5 generation fighter with excellent capabilities.
00:43but they lack the stealth features inherent in fifth-generation designs
00:49and we need if there are problems with the FK or even if the FK,
00:55have an optimal development, it is good to have a fifth or quasi-fifth generation house
01:03so that our pilots adapt well when we have the sixth-generation European home active
01:11because the transition would not be as powerful going from a 4.5 generation to a sixth as from a fifth generation to a sixth.
01:19And besides, if the FK isn't acquired, it would be good for us to have our own fifth-generation home.
01:29And what can we do? Well, from the channel, we're betting, instead of developing a new Eurofighter
01:36with Steel or low observability capabilities, because it would not be exactly stealthy from the analysis we have proposed,
01:46from the channel, otherwise it would be of low observability rather than Steel itself,
01:52Well then what we propose thanks to the plan of our great collaborator XZ
01:58is to reduce their signatures of all kinds, both visual, radar, thermal, etc.
02:07And we would do it as follows. Let's first focus on reducing the trapezoidal radar cross-section of the Eurofighter Steel.
02:16which by the way would be based on the Eurofighter LTE, which would be a more advanced version of the Eurofighter and is already in development
02:27and we hope that soon, relatively soon, it will be in service in the Spanish Air Force.
02:33So we start with the reduction of the RCS.
02:38There is a problem here, that we cannot modify the design of the aircraft to have,
02:43Or at least we can't modify it too intensively to have enhanced stealth capabilities.
02:50For example, the Eurofighter's canards are a challenge for low observability.
02:58There are also no internal weapons bays, ADS-shaped entry and edge alignment,
03:02but other things can be done to reduce its radar trapezoidal cross section.
03:08Such as RAN paints and coatings, radar absorbing materials,
03:13designed to absorb radar waves rather than reflect them.
03:18They contain ferromagnetic or dielectric particles that convert radar energy into heat.
03:23and are applied to the surface of the aircraft.
03:25Also the extensive use of composite materials, such as carbon fiber in the aircraft structure,
03:32which can reduce radar reflection compared to traditional metals.
03:39And that can be implemented in the Spanish Eurofighter Steel LTE.
03:42Other design considerations may also apply.
03:47Minimization of gaps and joints.
03:49All hollow panels and joints on the surface of the Eurofighter Steel should be minimized and sealed.
03:56to prevent them from acting as radar reflectors, making it a Spanish case of low observability.
04:03Design in the cabin.
04:04The cockpit canopy can be a source of radar reflection
04:07and for this purpose, special coatings can be used on the canopy to reduce its radar signature.
04:14The landing gear doors and weapons bays must also fit perfectly with the fuselage.
04:21to maintain a smooth and continuous surface, which may be more difficult but could be implemented.
04:28However, the most feasible for the Eurofighter Steel would be improvements in materials and coatings.
04:35along with air intake modifications and the integration of internal weapons
04:38which can significantly reduce its RCS and make it more lethal.
04:43Above all, for example, for SEAL operations, the Eurofighter Falcon could have these technologies
04:47or the Eurofighter LTE, which is an improvement of the Falcon,
04:51so that they could carry out these missions with much greater effectiveness and efficiency
04:56being able to evade or at least minimize the effects of enemy anti-aircraft defenses.
05:01We speak to the second point for the Spanish Eurofighter Steel,
05:05which would be the reduction of the thermal signature,
05:07since the thermal signature is that of an aircraft generated mainly by the heat of the engines
05:13and aerodynamic friction with the air.
05:16Reducing this signature is crucial to avoid detection by inferno sensors,
05:22like those that some anti-aircraft missiles have.
05:26And what thermal signature reduction techniques would we apply in this stealth house?
05:33or Eurofighter Steel or from a Spanish low observable home?
05:37Well, first, exhaust gas management, dilution and cooling,
05:42since hot exhaust gases are the most significant source of infrared signature.
05:49Systems can be used to mix exhaust gases with cold outside air.
05:53before his expulsion,
05:55diluting and cooling the Eurofighter Steel exhaust plume.
06:01Exhaust nozzle with its IR pressure.
06:03The design of the exhaust nozzles can be modified to disperse and cool the exhaust gases more efficiently.
06:12Flat or slit-shaped nozzles, such as those used on the F117 or B2,
06:17increase contact surface with cold air,
06:20accelerating cooling and reducing infrared visibility at certain angles.
06:24They can also incorporate ceramic or composite materials that freeze heat.
06:28We are betting more on the latter, because it would not require such an extensive redesign,
06:34as if we could modify it, put the nozzles in the form of a slit for the Spanish Eurofighter Steel.
06:43Then another improvement would be the shielding of the exhaust plume,
06:47since the Eurofighter Steel fuselage can be designed to conceal the exhaust plume
06:52from the direct view from below or from behind.
06:54Where infrared sensors are most effective.
06:58Second point, to reduce the thermal signature, reduction of surface heat.
07:03With the application of low-emissivity materials.
07:08Aircraft surfaces can be coated with materials that have low emissivity.
07:14in the infrared spectrum.
07:17What does this translate to?
07:19That radiate less heat.
07:21These coatings can be special paints or composite materials.
07:27which can be included in the Eurofighter Steel based on the Eurofighter LTE.
07:34Also, application of internal thermal management systems.
07:40With the addition of advanced cooling systems to dissipate the heat generated by
07:46the internal components of the aircraft, electronics, hydraulic systems.
07:50And prevent it from transferring to the outer surface.
07:53Then there is the aerodynamic design, but it is harder as it reduces friction with the air.
07:58Which in turn minimizes surface heating due to air compression at high speeds.
08:04Other considerations for reducing thermal signature?
08:08Well, the application of new generation engines, more efficient and with lower fuel consumption.
08:13They tend to generate less residual heat, contributing to a reduced thermal signature.
08:20Now we move on to the third point, which is the management of electromagnetic emissions from the Spanish-style Eurofighter.
08:28Stealth house for our country.
08:31Managing these emissions is crucial to improving stealth.
08:37Since aircraft emit electromagnetic energy through radar, communication and navigation systems and other electronic equipment.
08:44And reducing this signature prevents detection and tracking by signals intelligence systems, tracking enemies.
08:51Now we are going to see what techniques we would apply in the work of Rubén García and XZ for the management of electromagnetic emissions.
08:59First, EMI shielding from electromagnetic interference.
09:03With the application of conductive or magnetic materials.
09:07To enclose electronic components and prevent the leakage of electromagnetic emissions.
09:11This includes the use of metal casings, conductive mesh, and special coatings for the avionics compartments.
09:18Circuit design.
09:20Implementation of printed circuit design techniques.
09:22That minimize the generation and propagation of electromagnetic noise.
09:26Such as the use of proper ground planes, short signal paths, and component decoupling.
09:32Filters.
09:32Incorporation of filters, power and data lines.
09:35To suppress conducted and radiated emissions from electronic systems.
09:40Now, designing low-emission avionics systems.
09:43With low noise components.
09:45Which inherently generate less electromagnetic noise.
09:49Digitization of signals and the use of multiplexed databases.
09:53Which reduces the amount of wiring and therefore the potential sources of emissions.
09:56Additionally, digital signals can be easier to control and deliver.
10:00Power management.
10:01With the optimization of the Eurofighter Steel energy management system.
10:04To reduce voltage and current fluctuations in this stealth case for Spain.
10:08That could generate electromagnetic emissions.
10:11Management of antennas and radar systems.
10:13With low probability of interception antennas.
10:15LPI.
10:16This is already in the base Eurofighter LTE.
10:20So, this is not an invention.
10:22This is technology that is going to be applied.
10:25With the development and use of antennas that emit radio and communication signals.
10:28So that the Eurofighter Steel for Spain is difficult for the enemy to detect and intercept.
10:34This may include the use of narrow beams, low transmission power, and frequency hopping techniques.
10:39Integration of sports hunting antennas for Spain.
10:43In the structure of the aircraft.
10:44So that they do not stand out and contribute to the RCS.
10:50This often involves the use of conformal or flush-mounted antennas.
10:53Radar emission control.
10:55With the implementation of radar operating mode.
10:57That they minimize their airtime.
11:00Or use complex waveform.
11:02Because they are difficult to detect and classify by enemy signals intelligence systems.
11:06Electronic countermeasures.
11:08Although it is not a signature reduction technique per se.
11:11Electronic countermeasures can be used to confuse or deceive enemy radar systems.
11:15And the Spanish Eurofighter Steel already has the Eurofighter LTE as its base.
11:19Complementing the passive stealth of the aircraft.
11:23Now we move on to reducing the acoustic and visual signature.
11:27Important for stealth.
11:29Especially in low altitude emissions.
11:31Or in environments where visual or auditory detection is a threat.
11:35Let's see how to reduce the acoustic signature for the sports car for Spain.
11:40First, low-noise motor design.
11:41More efficient and with built-in noise suppression technologies.
11:46Featuring fan and nozzle design to minimize turbulence and exhaust noise.
11:50Exhaust nozzle fins installed inside the nozzles that can help reduce engine noise.
11:58Sound-absorbing materials.
12:00Air intakes and exhaust ducts that can attenuate the noise generated by the engine.
12:04Low speed and altitude operation.
12:06That minimize the noise perceptible from the ground.
12:09And it can be an important tactic, especially in SID broadcasts.
12:11And alternative propulsion.
12:14With the development of military aircraft with electric or hydrogen propulsion.
12:18Which could offer significant noise reduction.
12:21And that would be quite interesting.
12:23Now we see the reduction of the visual signature for the Spanish-style Eurofighter.
12:27First, with camouflage and paint.
12:30With low visibility colors.
12:33That resemble the operating lathe.
12:35Like heaven or earth.
12:36Which is what a matte shade of gray, blue, or green implies.
12:39To reduce the contrast with the background.
12:41There's also Micromash stealth paint.
12:43The great Spanish company.
12:45We can apply it to you.
12:46Also camouflage patterns.
12:49Disruptive.
12:49That break the silhouette of the aircraft.
12:52Making their identification difficult.
12:54And paints that reduce virillo.
12:55With matte or low-reflectivity finishes.
12:58To avoid sunlight glare.
13:00That can reveal the position of the aircraft.
13:02Minimizing condensation trails.
13:05With fuels and engine designs.
13:06To reduce the formation of these trails.
13:08They are the mythical Gentrails.
13:10Aerodynamic design.
13:12With a clean design.
13:14And without unnecessary protrusions.
13:16Which reduce the priority of visual detection.
13:18Especially distance.
13:19And lighting.
13:20With light and navigation control.
13:21And other light sources.
13:23To avoid night detection.
13:25It would also be interesting.
13:26As the great XZ has proposed.
13:29The use of conformal fuel tanks.
13:32Known in English as CFT.
13:35Which are embedded in the profile of an aircraft.
13:37To increase your flight range.
13:38And they also cause little aerodynamic loss.
13:41Compared to conventional external tanks.
13:43And they reduce the RCS of the aircraft.
13:46They are used, for example, by the F-15 Eagle.
13:50That is a great fighter.
13:52Which is the one we have already talked about on the channel.
13:55It could also be integrated into RAM cases.
13:58In exposed missiles and bombs.
14:00What would be like stealth pods.
14:02Which already has the F-15 SE.
14:04The Silent Eagle.
14:06Which is a stealth version of the F-15.
14:08And it would be interesting to apply for the Eurofighter Steel.
14:13We even have a little study that he did.
14:17The great XZ that I'm going to share with you.
14:20Of the capabilities of a Eurofighter.
14:22Low observability style.
14:24Against for example a Sub-35 with IRBIS radar.
14:27And an S-400.
14:32For example, the Eurofighter Steel.
14:36Against the U-35 radar.
14:38Which has a range of 400 kilometers.
14:40Well, so that I could detect it.
14:42It would have to be located at a range of 150 to 170 kilometers.
14:46Then it would be within range of, for example, a meter missile.
14:49So you can see.
14:52Also in the case of the S-400.
14:54Which has a detection range of up to 400 kilometers.
14:57Well, it would be the range where it could be detected of 200 kilometers.
15:03We already see that it is almost 50%.
15:05In the case of the S-400.
15:06And we are doing this study with the Mach 1.4 Eurofighter.
15:13With interception profile.
15:14With air-to-air cargo in stealth pods.
15:16And altitude of 10 kilometers.
15:19Awesome.
15:19Also with regard to the scope of the IRCT-OLS-35.
15:27From the U-35.
15:28Which has a range of up to 90 kilometers.
15:30Well, it would be reduced to 60 kilometers.
15:33Having the stealth capabilities.
15:36Which we would apply to the Eurofighter Steel.
15:39So you can see.
15:40The difference is very very noticeable.
15:43Having an effective RCS.
15:46With the improvements we have implemented.
15:47From 0.45 instead of 0.9 square meters.
15:51Which is the one that the Eurofighter Tanchetre has without improvements.
15:53Half.
15:55So.
15:56It's already a giant leap.
15:57Not exactly stealthy.
15:59Like an F-35.
16:00But.
16:01As we see.
16:02The difference would be quite noticeable.
16:05So.
16:07It's something that.
16:08It's already a difference that makes a lot of difference.
16:13In combat operations.
16:15Regarding our enemies.
16:18To be able to have.
16:19A fighter.
16:20With these capabilities.
16:21In the similar.
16:22A Eurofighter Steel.
16:23Or low observability LTE.
16:26It's truly amazing.
16:28What can become.
16:31This Eurofighter Steel.
16:34It's quite impressive.
16:36Awesome.
16:37And it would increase.
16:38Notably.
16:39Combat capabilities.
16:41From the Spanish army.
16:42Even.
16:43We have too.
16:44Courtesy of XZ.
16:45A small one.
16:47Price analysis.
16:48For example.
16:49Of what it would cost.
16:50In the case.
16:50For example.
16:51The coating.
16:51RAN in fuselage.
16:53It would have a cost per unit.
16:54From 1.5 to 2 million euros.
16:57And it is planned.
16:58In a quadriga.
16:58And for the Eurofighter LTE.
17:00The treatment of edges.
17:01And air intakes.
17:02From 0.5 to 0.8 million euros.
17:04Per unit.
17:05Adding a weight to it.
17:0615 kilograms.
17:08Sealing gaps.
17:09And rivets.
17:09It would cost 0.1 million euros.
17:12Per unit.
17:13And I would add a weight to it.
17:14Over 5 kilograms.
17:16To the ship.
17:17The stealthy spots.
17:18For armament.
17:19From 2 to 3 million euros.
17:21Per unit.
17:22Increasing weight.
17:23In 250 kilograms.
17:25Conformable fuel tanks.
17:28From 3 to 4 million euros.
17:29Per unit.
17:30Gaining weight.
17:31From the ship.
17:31In 900 kilograms.
17:34The use of absorbent materials.
17:371 million euros.
17:37Per unit.
17:39With an increase in weight.
17:4050 kilograms.
17:42Ceramic coated nozzles.
17:44From 0.8 to 1 million euros.
17:45Per unit.
17:46With an increase in weight.
17:4725%.
17:48Mixing system.
17:50With cold gases.
17:51From 1.5 to 2 million euros.
17:52Per unit.
17:53Weight gain of 60 kilos.
17:56That this is important.
17:57Infrared sorbent paint.
17:590.2 million euros.
18:00Per unit.
18:01With weight gain.
18:0310 kilograms.
18:04Optimized compressor.
18:05For propulsion.
18:06EJ 200.
18:07For the noise.
18:08To lower the decibels.
18:091.2 million euros.
18:11Per unit.
18:13With an increase in weight.
18:1520 kilograms.
18:17And nozzle geometry.
18:19Low noise.
18:21That lowers the noise too.
18:22From 2 to 3 decibels.
18:230.5 million euros.
18:24Per unit.
18:25Weight gain.
18:2615 kilograms.
18:29So you can see.
18:30How it would look.
18:32The Eurofighter.
18:32Style in price.
18:33It would increase.
18:34Not its cost.
18:36But it would be perfectly fine.
18:37Affordable for Spain.
18:38And with strategic advantages.
18:40They are very simple.
18:42Greater survival.
18:42High threat environment.
18:44Being much more difficult.
18:44To detect and track.
18:46By radar.
18:46And enemy defense systems.
18:48First strike ability.
18:49And penetration.
18:50Being able to cross.
18:52Sophisticated air defenses.
18:53To carry out precision attacks.
18:55Against high value targets.
18:56As command and control centers.
18:57And anti-aircraft batteries.
18:59Advantages in combat.
19:00Air to air.
19:01Since it can detect enemy.
19:03Long before being seen.
19:06By the adversary.
19:07Which gives him a decisive advantage.
19:08To launch long-range missiles.
19:10Or position yourself tactically.
19:13Complement to the existing fleet.
19:14Even with future F-35s.
19:15With the F-K.
19:16It would be a deadly tandem.
19:18Also strengthening.
19:19To Spain's position.
19:20In NATO.
19:20And the European Union.
19:21With a case of low observability.
19:22Or such a furtive one.
19:24That being able to contribute.
19:25A unique ability.
19:26And of high value.
19:27To NATO operations.
19:27And the European Union.
19:29Increasing its influence.
19:29And relevance.
19:30In international alliances.
19:32Acotechnological leader.
19:33Since by actively participating.
19:34In the development of a Eurofighter Style.
19:36For Spain.
19:37It would take a position.
19:38In our country.
19:39As a key player.
19:40At the forefront of European defense technology.
19:42Fostering collaboration.
19:43And the exchange of knowledge.
19:45With international partners.
19:47Development of national capacities.
19:49For the Spanish defense industry.
19:50In areas such as advanced materials.
19:52Avionics.
19:53Signature management systems.
19:54And precision manufacturing techniques.
19:56Job creation.
19:56Highly qualified.
19:57That would be an advantage.
19:58That would have to develop a Eurofighter.
20:01Of these characteristics.
20:03It could even be exported abroad.
20:06That would have to be valued.
20:08The Spanish-style Eurofighter.
20:10And technological sovereignty.
20:12By reducing dependence on external technologies.
20:14From such a critical area.
20:15Like the fifth generation combat vision.
20:17And finally.
20:18Disagreement and national security.
20:20Since the position of a stealth combat capability.
20:22It would increase Spain's capacity for discussion.
20:23Facing potential threats.
20:25Since an adversary.
20:25Like the Southern.
20:26You would face a risk.
20:27Much older.
20:28When trying to challenge.
20:29National interests.
20:30And also.
20:31Protection of strategic interests.
20:33Since it would be.
20:34An invaluable tool.
20:35To protect.
20:36Spain's strategic interests.
20:37Have a Eurofighter Style.
20:39Or low observability.
20:41It's true.
20:41That is a technological challenge.
20:42For Spain.
20:43But it is perfectly feasible.
20:44Since many of the technologies.
20:45That are going to be implemented.
20:47They are going to be done.
20:48On the Eurofighter LTI.
20:49You just have to do it.
20:50Some more improvements.
20:52And it would be ideal.
20:52For the defense of our nation.
20:54Well, this is where the report ends.
20:55From today.
20:55From a furtive case for Spain.
20:56I hope you liked it.

21:08And you can enjoy.
21:09From the debates.
21:10And the news.
21:11That we expose in that medium.
21:13All the best.
