00:00 There's been a lot of concern about AI lately, and it more or less taking over the world.
00:04 However, now the Biden administration has done what some believed would be impossible,
00:08 and they have gotten the top AI firms to commit to responsible AI development.
00:13 The White House just announced that Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft
00:19 and OpenAI have all entered into the pact of their own volition.
00:23 So what is responsible development?
00:25 Well they're now taking first steps to digitally watermark their AI generated content, so that
00:29 the general public will be able to know when content has been produced by AI.
00:33 An important notion with an upcoming election, as AI generated deepfakes are no doubt going
00:38 to become an issue as we enter campaign season.
00:40 The agreement also includes a pledge to test their AI systems both internally and outside
00:45 the company, before they're released to the public in the future.
00:48 They will now also provide a report which will be publicly available, outlining both
00:52 their AI's capabilities as well as its limitations.
00:55 The Biden administration said recently they're hoping that the US can seize the tremendous
00:59 promise of artificial intelligence, all while still protecting its citizens against possible
01:04 harm.
01:05 These new measures, which have been a priority for the administration, they say will hopefully
01:09 do, just that.
