00:02 - Offensive player of the year is often reserved
00:07 as of late for non-quarterbacks to award the best players
00:11 not named a quarterback.
00:13 What gets your attention in that market?
00:16 - It's a wide receiver.
00:17 And also I preface this by saying,
00:18 if you have an all pro quarterback,
00:20 that if he likes you, Ben,
00:22 we'll throw you the ball ad nauseum.
00:24 We're talking about Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
00:26 And no, I'm not picking Aaron Rodgers
00:28 to win this offensive player of the year.
00:30 It's going to be Garrett Wilson,
00:32 his new found wide receiver.
00:34 And if we just got a little bit of a snapshot
00:36 in the preseason where if he has the trust,
00:39 talking about Aaron Rodgers and his young wide receiver,
00:41 he will throw the ball relentlessly there in the red zone
00:44 where you just make eye contact
00:45 and you're on the same page.
00:46 Aaron Rodgers will put that football
00:48 where nobody else can make an interception or deflect it.
00:50 And the only chance for success
00:52 is if you catch it for a touchdown pass.
00:54 Let's go back to the past couple of years
00:55 with Devontae Adams.
00:56 Am I saying that Devontae Adams is Garrett Wilson?
00:58 No, I'm not.
00:59 But I'm just using this as leverage on my point to say
01:02 why Aaron Rodgers works.
01:03 And if you're a great wide receiver,
01:05 he will continuously feed you.
01:06 Last three years, 115 catches, 123 catches,
01:10 a hundred catches, 1374, 1553, 1516.
01:14 If he can somewhat get on that level,
01:17 those are offensive player of the year levels.
01:19 And again, if Aaron Rodgers trusts you,
01:22 you will get extra targets.
01:23 How many times over the years did they break down film
01:25 with the Green Bay Packers on national team and say,
01:27 look at this, guys were wide open underneath,
01:29 but still throwing it to double teams,
01:31 Aaron Rodgers to Devontae Adams
01:33 because of how much he trusted him to make that big play.
01:35 I love Garrett Wilson.
01:36 I think it's one of those times where you saw last year
01:38 what he can do with subpar quarterbacking.
01:41 Now give him one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
01:43 Sky's the limit here for Garrett Wilson.
01:45 And by the way, we're not talking eight or nine to one.
01:48 That's 25 to one here, man.
