00:00 The NEDA Board gave the go signal that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is leading six high-impact projects
00:09 that amount to almost Php 270 billion.
00:13 Alan Francisco was surprised.
00:15 With these approved projects, the Marcos administration reaffirms its commitment to aggressively advance infrastructure development
00:25 to attain our medium-term development goals of more high-quality jobs and better lives for all Filipinos.
00:33 That will be the goal of the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA Board approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:42 of Php 269.7 billion to be used in high-impact programs and government projects.
00:50 In his press briefing, NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balizacan said that the first project is to upgrade and expand
00:59 Bohol Panglaw International Airport.
01:01 This is a public-private partnership project with a fund of Php 4.5 billion.
01:07 It aims to increase the number of passengers who can accommodate, as a reason for tourism to grow.
01:14 We expect this project to boost tourism and as a result generate more high-quality jobs.
01:20 Another project is the dialysis center in Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, which is worth Php 392 million.
01:29 It aims to have a more affordable and closer hemodialysis treatment, especially for the Cordillera Administrative Region.
01:37 The most common treatment for its final stage is hemodialysis treatment.
01:42 This requires hemodialysis machines.
01:46 Currently, the Baguio General Hospital only has 30 machines, all of which are working at full capacity.
01:54 Thus, this solicited PPP project will increase the number of active hemodialysis machines to 108 by 2029.
02:04 This will enable the Baguio General Hospital to provide more affordable dialysis treatment to a greater number of chronic kidney disease patients.
02:13 Another project approved by the NEDA Board is the Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility,
02:19 which will provide DPWH and DOTR with a better mode for financing and the implementation of project preparation.
02:27 The NEDA Board also confirmed the approval of the so-called Green Economy Program, which will fund more than Php 3 billion grant from the European Union.
02:36 The program will accomplish this by building the capacity of the national government, LGUs, and the private sector
02:46 to mainstream and sustain green economy or green economy activities, enhance our circular economy, reduce waste and plastic,
02:56 and increase energy efficiency and renewable energy deployment.
03:00 The NEDA Board also approved the Changes to the Cost, Scope, and Timeline,
03:06 or some changes related to inflation in the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project, Cebu Bus Rapid Transit, and others.
03:13 Alan Francisco, for the nation.
