A shocking change in the weather is ahead for the western United States as the recent warmth will be replaced by much cooler air and even some early-season snow.
Transcript
00:00 West Coast, are you ready for a change?
00:02 We had the record temperatures
00:03 throughout a lot of the week and
00:06 still staying a little bit warmer
00:07 as we head into the weekend.
00:09 But take a look at the pattern
00:11 change as we head into next week.
00:13 We'll see more of a dip in the jet stream here.
00:16 That's going to send temperatures
00:18 anywhere from about 15 to 25 degrees
00:20 lower next week as compared to the
00:22 temperatures we were dealing with
00:23 just this past week.
00:24 So we take you out to the extended
00:27 forecast into LA where temperatures
00:28 will be in the upper 70s after plenty
00:30 of 80s that have been going on over
00:33 the last couple of days.
00:34 San Diego that's more like it with
00:36 temperatures into the lower 70s.
00:37 Vegas you're going to break from the heat
00:39 to look at Monday temperatures will
00:41 only be into the upper 70s and into
00:43 Phoenix after triple digit record.
00:45 Breaking temperatures were back to
00:46 temperatures where we should be,
00:48 if not a little bit lower,
00:49 even as we head into next week.
00:51 So that cooler pattern will be
00:53 taking over the West Coast and this
00:55 time of year when we're talking about
00:57 the snowfall potential, take a look at
00:59 what we could potentially be seeing
01:01 a tricky setup here by next week,
01:03 but could be seeing some snow moving
01:05 on in through the Rockies as we
01:07 head into the upcoming week.
