00:00 For the past several years, when the call for secession is very, very hot,
00:06 and the revolutionary movements were very active on the ground,
00:15 there were no progress that we have seen in our areas.
00:21 And this is precisely the reason why we have decided, and our elders have decided,
00:27 that it's not fair to inherit the problem, pass on the problem to the next generation.
00:34 I am the second generation of Muslim minority in the country who have seen the brunt of war.
00:40 I have seen it. I know the smell of a decomposing body.
00:47 So I know the sound of a gun.
00:51 So we are the first to say, "That's it, because we want to move forward."
00:57 So I guess my calling to our leaders, be more circumspect.
01:01 We should not use independence or the issue on secession of Mindanao as a political slogan.
01:08 We should not use that loosely in order to express our dismay politically.
01:15 This issue of secession has killed more than a thousand great men.
01:21 So let's put it to rest.
01:24 We want to join the Philippines.
01:27 We embrace unity, and let's support this administration call for unity.
01:33 Let's not use this as a political slogan or as a metaphor,
01:38 because we are frustrated personally and politically with the leaders sitting here.
01:43 Let's not do that, because it adds insult to the memories of those who have fallen.
01:49 And those are our troops who have sacrificed their lives in order to protect the Philippines.
01:55 I think the least that we can do is to honor their memories and keep this country intact.
