00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Mark O'Britannia.
00:04We've seen plenty of fine weather to end the weekend across the bulk of the UK as we head
00:07through this evening into the overnight period. We'll start to see some outbreaks of rain
00:11moving in across Northern Ireland, reaching southern Scotland and the north of England
00:14into the early hours. Some of that rain turning quite heavy by Monday morning. Cherry outbreaks
00:18also into Wales and the south-west of England. We're in the south-east of England, up across
00:22north-western parts of Scotland, generally seeing the clearest skies. Under those clear
00:26spells towards the north-west, it will turn quite chilly by Monday morning, could see
00:29lows into single figures here, but elsewhere, with the cloud and the cherry outbreaks of
00:33rain coming in, it will generally stay quite mild, temperatures holding up in the low to
00:37mid-teens, so quite a humid night for many. As for Monday itself, well those outbreaks
00:41of rain across northern England, southern Scotland, generally break up as we go through
00:45the morning, giving way to sunshine and scattered quite heavy showers in the afternoon. One
00:48or two of those showers could also be quite thundery. Meanwhile, the outbreaks of cherry
00:52rain across Wales and the south-west will gradually migrate eastwards across the rest
00:56of England into the morning, giving way in the afternoon here to plenty of sunshine,
00:59so quite a good afternoon, I think, if you like sunshine, that is, certainly across the
01:03south of the UK, whereas towards the north-west, again, a mixture of sunshine and scattered
01:07showers. In the sunshine towards the south-east during the afternoon, temperatures peaking
01:11at 24, possibly locally even 25 Celsius, that's into the mid to locally upper 70s in Fahrenheit.
01:16A bit fresher towards the north-west at 15 to 19 degrees, perhaps squeaking a 20 in Belfast
01:22and Newcastle. As we head into the evening then on Monday, those showers will start to
01:26ease, at least for a time, because notice as we go into the overnight period into the
01:29early hours of Tuesday, further shower outbreaks of rain start to move in from the west, especially
01:34across parts of England and Wales. It will be the north-west of the UK, generally seeing
01:38the clearest skies by Tuesday morning. Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland, fairly clear
01:42in fact. Here, once again, it will turn quite chilly by Tuesday morning, temperatures into
01:46single figures, but elsewhere holding up in the low to mid-teens. So once again, a pretty
01:50mild night to come away from the north-west. As for Tuesday, it will be quite a cloudy
01:55morning across England and Wales. Some outbreaks of showery rain in places, giving way generally
01:59to a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers as we go through the day. But notice the showers
02:03towards the north-west easing into the afternoon, so plenty of sunshine to end the day across
02:07Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland. That's all thanks to a ridge of high pressure
02:11moving in from the west. But once again, in the sunshine, temperatures not doing too badly
02:15at all for the time of year, up to 21 towards the north-west, peaking at 25 Celsius in the
02:19south-east at 77 in Fahrenheit. That's pretty much it from me, but of course, you can keep
