00:00Hi there.
00:01You may have noticed a fresher feel this morning, especially if you're in the south.
00:05Lower humidities, lower temperatures compared with the last couple of days.
00:08A change in the wind direction and the jet stream dipping south over the UK.
00:12So a cooler air mass and plenty of showers around initially before the next weather front
00:17moves in overnight, bringing some more persistent rain for a time.
00:22Now the showers will be scattered and they're not going to be particularly heavy, some moderate
00:26bursts around, but in between the showers there'll be some bright spells, albeit with rather
00:31cloudy skies.
00:32At first the showers will be focused towards the west, by the afternoon they'll be migrating
00:37eastwards.
00:38And with that change in wind direction, with the lower humidities, temperatures are going
00:43to reach the high teens, perhaps 20 or 21 Celsius in the southeast, so a little lower compared
00:50with recent days, but pleasant enough where we get some drier and brighter weather.
00:56Overnight we're going to see the winds picking up in the northwest, outbreaks of rain soon
01:00enough pushing through Scotland, Northern Ireland heavy for a time, and then after midnight those
01:04outbreaks of rain spill into England and Wales.
01:07Clear at first for East Anglia and the southeast, but despite any clear skies with the breeze picking
01:13up across all parts of the UK, it's not going to be a particularly cool night, temperatures
01:18mostly staying up in the double figures.
01:20And behind the rain, we've got a blustery start to the day for Scotland and Northern
01:25Ireland.
01:25Winds whipping up, gales around exposed northwestern coasts, and frequent showers moving through
01:31some of these heavy, merging to give longer spells of rain, especially for northwestern Scotland.
01:36That's where most of the showers will be, but early rain clears away from the southeast
01:41and leaves some showers for England and Wales, mostly for Northern and Western England as
01:45well as Wales.
01:46More scattered here as well.
01:48In between, some sunny spells, and a little warmer in the south and southeast compared with
01:53Wednesday.
01:5422, perhaps 23 Celsius, the UK peak, but towards the north it's going to feel much cooler mid-teens,
02:01and with that strong wind blowing throughout the day, frequent showers, longer spells of rain
02:05at times as well.
02:07Into the evening, those showers tend to push their way east and southwards, so we'll see
02:13a few in the Midlands, southern England for a time overnight.
02:16In between, some clear spells, the showers easing as the night progresses, followed by an increasingly
02:22cloudy and increasingly damp day on Friday.
02:26Much more as always on our YouTube channel, including the 10-day trend, and we'll keep you
02:31updated on all our social channels through the day as well.
