00:00What's up Geek Culture Congress? Lewis Speedy Jr. here once again bringing you my review of The Kitchen, which is starring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elizabeth Moss.
00:10This movie is actually based on a comic book, a DC Vertigo comic book, of course, called The Kitchen.
00:17And we got to check it out. I got to check it out Monday with my wife. She enjoyed it without, you know, much more explanation.
00:26But I also enjoyed it as well. This was a, it's always good to see a movie that is based on a comic book that doesn't have nothing to do with superheroes, fantasy, sci-fi, you know, the usual troves of, you know, what they expect from a comic book, you know, movie.
00:44Melissa McCarthy performance, her performance was excellent. It was a very serious performance.
00:50If you're looking for comedy, you know, because she's top billing and, you know, you're expecting another comedy from her, you'd be mistaken.
00:58Also, Tiffany Haddish, of course, she's very famous for doing comedy as well.
01:01It's a very serious acting going on in this movie.
01:05And, of course, we already know Elizabeth Moss acting chops for seriousness, being from The Handmaid's Tale.
01:11And this movie is a crime drama, ladies and gentlemen, okay?
01:17So if you're looking for some, you know, crazy, a blockbuster action movie, this is not it, okay?
01:23Talk about in the lines of Godfather, Scarface, Goodfellas.
01:28This is what this movie is about, okay?
01:30So if that's your kind of movie, I highly recommend it.
01:33I enjoyed it, personally, because I do enjoy those crime movies.
01:37And it is going to be available in movie theaters this weekend, starting Friday, okay?
01:44So go see it.
01:46I highly recommend it.
01:47Good time in the movies.
01:47Definitely give it three and a half stars out of five.
01:51It was a good time at the movies.
01:53I couldn't really tell any, you know, plot holes or anything.
01:57But I'm sure, you know, maybe I need to say it one more time.
02:00But I thoroughly enjoyed it.
02:02I highly recommend it.
02:04Go check it out.
02:05It's always great to see a comic book movie that's not based on the usual troves and what you expect from a comic book, you know?
02:13And shows that, you know, we could tell all kinds of different stories via the comic book medium.
02:20And, you know, and also translates mode to a movie.
02:22So go check it out.
02:24The Kitchen is in movie theaters this weekend, starting this Friday.
02:27And I'll be bringing you more interviews from the Florida, Tampa Bay Comic Con, usually one a day until I'm out, okay?
02:34So I got about like five more interviews that I got to upload to you guys.
02:38So keep on the lookout for that.
02:40And Speedy Jr. signing off here from Geek Closer Congress.
02:43And we'll be back with a brand new show also next week with the whole crew, Joey Franchise and Terrick Lewis, okay?
