00:19I mean, Andrew Barry was as honest as he can be
00:22when you're trying to construct a roster in time for Tuesday's cutdown day.
00:26You know, we'll see if there's quarterback movement around the league.
00:32Injuries play a role, and guys get moved as well.
00:36Gage Larvedan from his 35 gets it close to midfield before he gets dropped by Rams.
00:45So here comes Shadur Sanders.
00:50So how do you think this whole thing is going to play out
00:52in terms of the quarterback situation?
00:55With the Browns franchise? I don't know.
00:57They'll win one before I die. I know that.
00:59I'm talking about once Joe Flacco starts.
01:02I mean, Jimmy Haslam came out at his preseason press conference
01:06and said we have to look at the young guys at some point.
01:10And it's obvious.
01:12You know, as players, you really just focus on the here and now.
01:15You know, I have no idea.
01:16There's no guarantees as a player or even a coach about being around next season.
01:20So you can't worry about that.
01:21But the people upstairs, those are the guys that need to be aware and alert
01:25as Shadur Sanders does a great job moving in the pocket.
01:29That's something we saw Russell Wilson do a lot when he's getting blindside pressure.
01:32He had that great awareness of where that was to make just a little bit of a jab step,
01:37make the first blitzer miss,
01:38miss, and then roll out and give his receivers an opportunity to work on their scramble drill.
01:43Well, you know, Sanders and Gabriel picked a couple of rounds apart,
01:47and it's the first time in the NFL since 2012
01:50where multiple quarterbacks were drafted by the same team in the first five rounds.
01:56Hasn't happened a lot in the common draft era since the late 60s.
01:59RG3 and Kirk Cousins.
02:00And, of course, Kirk Cousins still cashing some checks down there in Atlanta
02:06with the Falcons as the backup to Michael Penix.
02:10Sanders being pressured, spins away again, keeping the play alive.
02:16The fans love it, but that's one of those plays where maybe he's got to roll out
02:20and throw it away, huh?
02:22Yeah, I think he's getting a little bit too eager there
02:25to have an opportunity to throw the ball down the field.
02:27You saw him earlier just hanging a little bit too deep in the pocket,
02:30not stepping up.
02:31Here, the same thing, right?
02:32He's got a nice pocket if he just steps up into that,
02:34but trying to escape through the back of the pocket again,
02:37and it only takes a couple times when you do that
02:40before the defense realizes, okay, we can rush the edge of the tackle,
02:44and Shadur is not going to step up because he's not feeling comfortable there,
02:47and then you can actually change how you're rushing
02:49and the X that you're rushing to behind where the quarterback is.
02:53So I'd like to see some improvement in game,
02:55which is something that you have to do as an NFL starter.
02:57You've got to be able to make those corrections quickly on the sideline.
03:00Loss of 24 on the sack,
03:02and then Trevion Williams gets a couple of yards back,
03:05and they'll have to punt.
03:08And Sanders, just like himself, playing with a lot of young guys.
03:13A lot of young guys out there,
03:14a lot of young offensive linemen in front of them.
03:18Blocking has not been exceptional,
03:20but blocking and the drop of the quarterback,
03:23they have to go hand-in-hand.
03:25Like Andrew Berry said,
03:26hey, we play with our backs to the ball,
03:28so we're blocking for a spot.
03:30You know, obviously we're not always doing a great job,
03:33and sometimes we get beat just like anybody,
03:35but for the most part,
03:36I don't know what he's going to do.
03:38I can do my best based on the reaction of the defender
03:40that I'm trying to block,
03:41but having that trust between the offensive lineman
03:45and the quarterback about where he's going to be
03:47and when the ball's going to come out is so crucial.
03:49How about Aiden Huntington,
03:50280-pound defensive lineman running down the field
03:53to make the tackle on the punt.

05:04you're not worried about next year.
05:05There's no guarantees as players, as coaches,
05:07but ownership, people in the front office.
05:10You have to have that long vision as well.
05:12And finding out about your quarterbacks
05:14that are on this roster,
05:15specifically your rookies,
05:17and deciding what you're going to do
05:18with those two first-round picks
05:19is every bit a huge part of the season
05:21as it is getting Joe Flacco ready to go and win
05:24and try to win as many games as you can.

05:27This guy has been fantastic throughout the preseason.
05:31He started today as an extra blocker on offense,
05:34and look at the quickness.
05:37Never going to make Aaron Donald comparisons
05:40when they're not warranted,
05:41but this guy kind of gives little whispers
05:44of Aaron Donald with his size,
05:46with his quickness,
05:46with the effort that he plays with,
05:48running down on kickoff.
05:49I think I might be buying young Jackie boy,
05:53Jack Thomas, a 66 jersey,
05:55because this guy's just fun to root for.
05:56Watch him right out there.
05:57Get it out!

23:39doctor yeah so the guy on the edge
23:44they call him sometimes the skinner
23:46because he's trying to skin past
23:48that wing player to get his hands
23:51in the air and to try to get a
23:53block but you're reading the ball
23:55the body language of the long
23:57snapper and you're trying to take
23:58any little cues on when you need to
24:00go and when you go you go did you
24:02learn that from rooming with those
24:03guys yeah all my roommates were the

24:06long snapper you know I got to
24:08watch him do a lot of great work at
24:10Wisconsin throughout the years
24:11they're also the guys that have the
24:12most time on their hands so they're
24:13the most fun they're the guys that
24:15you want to be roommates with
24:16all right so the the bad news is is that
24:20the Browns have relinquished the lead for
24:22the first time today it's I wonder if
24:25it's possible if Snoop Huntley is going to
24:27no please it is possible but we don't want
24:32that and he's throwing the helmet on
24:34Shadour does not have the helmet on
24:37walking towards the locker wonder if the ribs
24:39if the oblique is is bothering him a little bit
24:42that was what he heard the week of
24:44Philadelphia did not allow him to take
24:46any team reps and then he was not able to
24:49play in the game we had Andrew Barry here in
24:51the third quarter telling us about his
24:52toughness and being able to come back so
24:54quickly from that injury not exactly
24:56clear if Shadour is just feeling
24:58frustrated that's why he went for the
25:00walk or if he was maybe looking to go to
25:02the locker room to get those ribs checked
25:05out or the oblique checked out well there
25:07this has been a lot for him for several
25:10months we get it that he is a star and
25:12has been for quite some time that ball is
25:14going to go out of the end zone grounds
25:16and started at the 35 but all eyes have
25:19been focused on him ever since the draft
25:21process and then we don't have to harp on
25:23it again but ends up being picked 144 in the
25:26fifth round and then here and where are you
25:28on the depth chart and there you've got a
25:30rookie that they drafted ahead of you so
25:32maybe they don't like you as much there's
25:34been a lot and as I mentioned you know
25:36every press conference he has had he has
25:38stood there and handled things beautifully
25:40yeah the game did not go the way any of
25:43us had hoped today protection was not
25:45there Shadour Sanders not feeling
25:46comfortable with movement in the pocket
25:49receivers not getting open just not what
25:51you hoped the opportunity for him to
25:53show off his stuff and get that true
25:55first opportunity to evaluate those two
25:57rookie quarterbacks on the same field
25:59against the same defense
26:01well Huntley has that one picked off
26:06but there is a flag so we'll see if that
26:10is a keeper or not for Cam Lampkin
26:16defense number 33

26:27a little bit of a hold there by Lampkin
26:30the defender Lampkin allowing himself to
26:32kind of slingshot underneath the receiver

31:23obviously helmet to helmet helmet helmet
31:25something that they've watched
31:27and studied and
31:29sometimes that's a difficult one for the receiver
31:33because
31:35to one minute and 42 seconds
31:37got an in-breaking route by the receiver
31:39you've got a safety that's breaking on the football
31:41ball comes in a little bit low
31:43receiver comes down maybe ducks his head a little bit
31:45so there's not malice
31:47from the defensive player as he's coming in
31:49to try to disrupt and break up the pass
31:51but unfortunately
31:53if you're not picking your target
31:55very carefully in those split second moments
31:57as a defensive player
31:59there can be some really serious collisions
32:01there in the secondary
32:03several members of the Browns training staff
32:05walking with Donald down the tunnel

36:40challenge these players to be better and tougher
36:43and we saw that in the joint practices in Carolina
36:45we saw it in Philadelphia with two dominating performances against Carolina
36:50probably not going to be that great but Philadelphia you're defending Super Bowl champions
36:53the trenches were won by the Browns on offensive and defensive line
36:57and you got to feel pretty good about where the Browns are heading into the opening game
37:02here in a couple weeks against the Cincinnati Bengals
