00:04another video. And for this video, I'm going to be talking about Masters of the Universe, the live action Masters
00:10of the Universe, this 2026 movie that was released a couple weeks ago.
00:15So, I'm going to be talking about why that movie is pretty much kind of bombing at the box office
00:21and why it's pretty much failing, why it's not doing too well and such.
00:28So, you know, Masters of the Universe, you know, the 2026 movie, I saw it and I thought it was
00:34a phenomenal movie. I thought it was great. I thought it was excellent. I thought it was a really fun
00:39movie.
00:40There were a lot of things in that movie that I really liked. The characters were a lot of fun.
00:45You know, the story was pretty great. You know, the action was on par. Spectacular, you know.
00:54Everything about that movie was just great. The characters were really likable. You pretty much love all the characters. You
01:00know, Adam, he's a great character. You know, you do kind of feel for him for what he goes through,
01:07you know.
01:07And Adam is pretty much a really likable character, you know. Teela, she's a great character, too. She, you know,
01:16she's the lead female character of the movie. Like, Adam is the lead male character.
01:22Oh, yeah, it's kind of like that in the show, the franchise in general. He-Man has always been the
01:26main male lead and Teela has always been the main female lead. At least, that's what I think.
01:32You know, and the cast were pretty great. You know, the other characters, you know, did great, too. You know,
01:39Idris Elba played, um, I forgot the guy's name.
01:44But, um, you know, he was pretty good, too. And also, now, Idris Elba, the character he plays, I'm sorry,
01:53Masters of the Universe fans, I'm really sorry I forgot his name.
01:56You can let me know in the comments section below. But he, you know, but apparently the character is actually
02:04white in, you know, other incarnations, you know, not such a cartoon, other incarnations, and he just, you know, but,
02:11you know, it's just a typical, you know, race swapping that we see a lot in Hollywood and all, you
02:18know.
02:19So, you know, and it's going to continue on, unfortunately.
02:24Hey, guys, I'm sorry I'm back. I see my dad just walking real quick. So, sorry about that.
02:29But back to what I'm saying, Idris Elba being cast to play a white character, you know.
02:36You know, it's the typical, you know, race swapping we see a lot in Hollywood, you know, in movies and
02:41such, you know.
02:42And we're probably going to still continue to see it later on.
02:45I mean, sure, we have seen it in other movies like, you know, Michael Clarke Duncan, May He Rest in
02:49Peace as the Kingpin, and I guess even Samuel Jackson as Nick Ferry.
02:54Because I think Nick Ferry was originally white in the comics, you know.
02:59So, that kind of stuff, you know.
03:01And also, Idris Elba, his character, kind of goes through the arc of, you know, you know, Osama losing confidence
03:10and then regaining confidence once again.
03:14You know, that kind of story arc, you know.
03:17And as for the other characters, you know, they're all pretty cool, you know.
03:21Cringer or, you know, Battle Cat.
03:23We rarely see him a lot in the movie, honestly.
03:25But, you know, he does participate, like, during the final battle in the climax, and he's pretty good, you know.
03:33And the other characters, Ram Man, Fisto, Mechaneck, you know, and some of the other characters.
03:42They're all pretty great, you know.
03:43A lot of the characters in this movie are pretty great, you know.
03:46And this movie even has some funny moments, you know, and such, you know.
03:50You know, so overall, I did enjoy the movie.
03:52And the movie even has, apparently, two mid-credit scenes, you know, leading up to a possible sequel.
03:59We're not spoiling it, but I think a lot of people have probably already seen those.
04:03So, you know, I do hope we do get a sequel.
04:07Even though it probably seemed like it may be unlikely, but I do think, you know, it does have a
04:12chance to get a sequel.
04:13I mean, Mortal Kombat 2021, I don't think that movie did too well.
04:17And that movie ended up getting a sequel, which was terrible.
04:20The sequel that came out this year, which was terrible.
04:22It was supposed to come out last year in 2025, but they pushed it back to this year.
04:27So, it could have been a 2025 movie instead of a 2026 movie.
04:32But, yeah, you know, Masters of the Universe, you know, the 2026 movies, live-action movies, is a really great
04:37movie.
04:38What I'd say is better than the original live-action movie with Dolk London.
04:42And I can't really comment because I've never seen that one.
04:47I might check it out, though.
04:48She was like...
04:49But, yeah.
04:51So, it was a good movie.
04:53I really enjoyed it.
04:55Now, unfortunately, it's not doing well at the box office, and I think it's considered a flop.
05:00It is considered a flop, unfortunately.
05:03And, I guess I can understand.
05:06And, here are the reasons why this movie is pretty much a flop, basically.
05:10Why this movie is pretty much failing and bombing at the box office.
05:13There are two huge major factors.
05:18Factors, and one of the reasons.
05:20And, number one is, number one is, this movie pretty much is facing tough competition at the box office right
05:29now, basically.
05:31Because, you know, there have been some movies that came out before it.
05:36Movies that, a movie that came out the same week as it.
05:40And, there are other movies coming out weeks after it.
05:44You see?
05:44So, movies...
05:47Because, apparently, this movie is pretty much getting, basically, overshadowed by other movies that are probably grabbing people's interest right
05:55now, you know?
05:56We have Obsessed Send, Backrooms.
06:00Those both came out, I think, came out weeks before and were doing solid numbers.
06:06And, got crazy praise reviews from people that are being praised all around.
06:11And, I actually saw...
06:13I think I just looked online on the AMC movie website.
06:16And, I see more showings for those movies than do for Masters of the Universe.
06:21And, those movies are still getting people's butts in theaters.
06:25Butts in theaters, you know.
06:28Getting people to come to the theaters to see those.
06:31And, you know...
06:35And, also, this movie basically came out the same day as the same week as Scary Movie, you know?
06:43Scary Movie, you know?
06:45The new Scary Movie, you know?
06:47And, I heard that was starting to...
06:49And, first, I was thinking about maybe that movie was probably going to pose some competition for it at the
06:53box office.
06:54Because, it looks like it probably is.
06:56Because, I heard that that movie is doing way better than Masters of the Universe is.
07:01And, then, also, the movies that came out weeks after it.
07:04You know?
07:05Disclosure Day came out, like, two weeks after.
07:08I mean...
07:09I think a week after?
07:11Yeah, Disclosure Day came out a week after.
07:16And, then, a week after that, you know, Toy Story 5, you know?
07:22And, then, a week after that, this week, right here, we have Supergirl coming out.
07:28Which, basically, also stars a blonde hair protagonist, basically, you know?
07:37And, you know, and those movies...
07:39And, also, what's worse?
07:40We even got Minions coming out.
07:42The new Minions movie.
07:43Minions and Monsters, I think that's what it's called.
07:45Coming out next week.
07:46And, that is basically, yeah.
07:49All these movies are based...
07:51And, Minions, that movie is basically going to probably assume to do solid numbers.
07:56Because, you know, Minions, you know, Despicable Me.
07:59The Despicable Me franchise, you know, is pretty much, you know, a huge money maker.
08:05A huge seller, you know?
08:06And, I guess it's mostly because of the Minions.
08:09I guess the Minions, you know, they might as well be the main characters.
08:13Of the franchise at this point.
08:14Because, I think the Minions are to Despicable Me franchise.
08:18Like, the Rabbids are to the Rayman franchise, you know?
08:22Those popular, you know, characters that are pretty much everywhere.
08:26That people are beginning to love more than the actual main character of the franchise.
08:32You see what I'm saying?
08:33And, yeah, and also Toy Story.
08:35And, Toy Story is a huge money maker, you know?
08:38And, from what I hear, I hear that Toy Story 5 is doing well at the box office.
08:41The Scrover Day, I think that is doing good as well.
08:46But, I didn't really hear that much good reviews about it.
08:49I saw the movie and, honestly, I liked it.
08:54But, you know, the movie did kind of put me to sleep a little bit.
08:58And, there were a lot of unanswered questions about the movie.
09:01And, such, you know.
09:04I mean, it had its issues.
09:08And, so, yeah.
09:09So, Masters of the Universe is facing massive competition at the box office.
09:13Because, it has all these movies that are coming out, you know?
09:17Particularly, mostly, the movies coming out after, you know?
09:21I mean, sure, the movies before, they did pose a problem as well.
09:26And, even the movie, Scary Movie, the movie that came out the same day as.
09:31You know?
09:33But, you know...
09:37I think, you know, I think this movie probably would have done better
09:40if it was released maybe in August or July.
09:43I think, yeah.
09:45Because, this movie is basically getting overshadowed by all the movies.
09:50Other movies.
09:51That's not there right now.
09:52I mean, the big ones that are being overshadowed by are
09:55Obsessing,
09:58Backrooms,
10:01Toy Story 5,
10:02and now, we have Supergirl coming out.
10:05And, then, we also have the Minions.
10:07Minions and Monsters movie coming out next week.
10:09So,
10:11this movie is pretty much just sandwiched in between
10:14all these other highly anticipated movies, basically.

10:21I have...
10:22All these other movies, I have seen them.
10:23Yeah, I've seen, like I said,
10:25Disclosedly, I've already seen, you know?
10:26Backrooms and Assassin's, really great movies.
10:29Not sure those movies came out last month,
10:31but they're still kicking it in the box office.
10:34At least, from what I've heard.
10:36And, you know,
10:37Toy Story 5, I saw it, you know?
10:39Yesterday was my,
10:40I think my third time seeing it.
10:42Yeah, it was my third time seeing it.
10:43And, oh boy,
10:44it was a phenomenal movie.
10:46It had a few
10:48share issues and minor problems,
10:49but it was still a decent movie
10:51and still had the heart in it.
10:53You know?
10:54And funnily enough,
10:55I did saw Supergirl.
10:56I saw, like,
10:57a fan screen of it yesterday
10:58and I am going to see it again today.
11:01But,
11:05they,
11:05they,
11:06and,
11:07you know,
11:08and what else?
11:09Yeah, I saw a scary movie as well,
11:11you know?
11:11I thought it was,
11:12man,
11:13so that was okay,
11:14you know?
11:15I haven't seen much of the scary movies.
11:17I think I saw clips of them,
11:19but, you know,
11:21they never fully, like,
11:22grabbed me, honestly,
11:23you know?
11:25I don't see, so.
11:28But, you know,
11:28but parenting movies,

11:29they're,
11:30man,
11:30hit or miss sometimes,
11:31but they're okay for the most part.
11:34So, yeah,
11:34unfortunately,
11:34Masters of the Universe just
11:36doesn't seem like
11:37you can stick the lane
11:38against all these other
11:39awesome movies
11:41and these,
11:42these other movies
11:43are basically movies
11:44that are probably going to get
11:45people's interest
11:46to go see,
11:47you know?
11:49And,
11:49I think Masters of the Universe,
11:50like I said before,
11:51I think the movie should have done,
11:53would have been better
11:53if it came out in August
11:54because,
11:55I don't think there's
11:56a lot of stuff coming out
11:57in August.

12:16I know those are going to be
12:17box office success.
12:20And Supergirl,
12:21which is coming out
12:22tomorrow,
12:23actually,

12:25is basically going to,
12:26probably going to be,
12:27be a huge moneymaker.
12:29Unfortunately,
12:29I hear that movie's not getting
12:30a lot of good reviews.
12:32I saw the movie yesterday
12:34at Fan Screening,
12:35and I actually liked it.
12:37I thought it was pretty fun,
12:39you know.
12:40Would I say it's better
12:41than Superman
12:41from last year?

12:44probably not,

12:46Now,
12:47my brother asked me,
12:48bro did ask me that,

13:27the new movie that comes out
13:28is expected to be,

13:29the next big star,
13:31the least hour,
13:32for,

13:32especially,

13:33if it has,

13:33an IMAX showing,
13:34an Adobe showing,
13:35you know what I'm saying?
13:37So,
13:37unfortunately,
13:40in certain,
13:40sometimes movies will overshadow
13:42some of the movies
13:43at the box office,
13:44depending,
13:46on how the movie is.
13:49So,
13:49unfortunately,
13:52so,
13:52Masters of the Universe,
13:53this can't really keep up
13:54with much of me,
13:56with all these other
13:57awesome movies coming out.
13:58I think August would've been
13:59a better release date,

14:06another factor

14:08why this movie's probably
14:08not doing so well
14:09is because,
14:11here's the truth,

14:13Masters of the Universe
14:14is not really
14:16a pop culture phenomenon
14:17right now
14:18at this moment.
14:19It pretty much isn't.
14:21This franchise
14:22has kind of been
14:23buried,
14:24kind of been dead
14:24for, like,
14:25a good couple years now.
14:26Nothing has been done
14:27with this IP,
14:28this property,
14:28in so long,
14:29you know.
14:30Sure,
14:30we had that Netflix show
14:32created by Kevin Smith.
14:35I heard that
14:35not a lot of people liked it.
14:38But I think
14:38some people did.
14:41I haven't seen much of it,
14:42but, you know,
14:44I might check it out.
14:46I mean,
14:47Masters of the Universe,
14:47I guess there were attempts
14:48to try to bring this franchise
14:49back to
14:51bring it back
14:52to making the pop culture,
14:53pop,
14:54to make it about
14:54pop culture,
14:56you know.
14:56I actually thought
14:57this movie was going to be
14:58for the Masters of the Universe
14:59franchise,
15:00like, what?
15:00The 2007
15:03live-action
15:04Michael Bay
15:04Transformers movie
15:05was for the Transformers
15:06franchise,
15:07where that movie
15:08helped bring,
15:09you know,
15:10helped bring the franchise
15:11back into pop culture,
15:12because before that movie
15:14came out,
15:14Transformers
15:15wasn't really as
15:17popular as it was
15:18back in its heyday.
15:20But that 2007
15:21live-action movie
15:22helped bring the movie
15:24back into pop culture.
15:26And Transformers
15:27has been
15:28very popular
15:29in non-stop
15:30popular sisters
15:30to this day,
15:32you know.
15:33You know,
15:34back in 2024
15:35we had Transformers 1
15:36which was a 4C bomb
15:37at the box office,
15:38but it got good reviews.
15:40And it is a good movie,
15:41just the marketing
15:42for the movie
15:43did not help
15:43that movie at all.
15:46And I actually thought
15:47that, you know,
15:47the same thing
15:47was probably going to
15:48happen with the
15:48Masters of the Universe,
15:49this Masters of the Universe
15:50movie.
15:50It was probably going to
15:51help bring Masters of the
15:53Universe back into
15:55pop culture media,
15:56but it looks like
15:57it probably isn't
15:58going to be the case.
16:00And I wonder if this movie
16:01is going to face
16:01the same problem
16:02that Transformers 1
16:03is where
16:05it's not going to get
16:06a sequel.
16:08I'm pretty sure
16:09this movie is probably
16:10going to get a sequel.
16:10I would love to see a sequel.

16:15I love the characters

16:26but it doesn't look like
16:27it's probably going to
16:28be the case, unfortunately.

16:33Masters of the Universe
16:34beat-em-up game
16:35coming out soon, you know.
16:38I am looking forward
16:39to that game, yeah.
16:41And also with
16:42Injustice 3 coming out,

16:44Injustice 3 in development,
16:47I'm actually hoping
16:48that, you know,
16:50He-Man makes it in
16:51as a guest character.
16:53And maybe the storyline
16:55for Injustice 3
16:55can be based on
16:56the crossover,
16:58the Injustice and
16:59Masters of the Universe
17:00crossover comics.
17:02I would love to see that.
17:03And I think that would
17:04be a great storyline.

19:41It is a bummer
19:42because this movie
19:43is pretty good,

19:45is a really awesome

19:46it's a fun movie.

19:49the trailers
19:49did a good job

22:09maybe it was for adults.

22:11if it was on the same level
22:12as Invincible.

22:20And it's kind of a bummer,
