00:00I've never felt my lymph move, and I could feel that sensation. It was really quite magical.
00:12I'm Hillary, and I'm the owner of Four Pillars Ayurveda, and today I'll be showing you how I do a
00:18face cupping treatment.
00:19What I love most about being a business owner is that it's a real creative process,
00:25so I get to create, you know, the website, the decor, but then also how I'm going to give these
00:32different treatments to people.
00:34So the skills required to run your own business are vast.
00:38We're a laundry person, a cleaner, a website designer, a marketer, an accountant.
00:44The learning curve is huge, but there's so many courses out there too, and mentors that you can have,
00:50which I would recommend because I didn't have that when I started.
00:53One of the biggest challenges of being a business owner and not having anybody, employees or helpers or business partners,
01:02is that it can be a little lonely and feeling like I'm doing everything on my own.
01:07So that's when I like to reach out to my other friends who are also business owners and kind of
01:12chat about, you know,
01:14the challenges that we have, and then it doesn't feel like I'm so alone.
01:19So today I'll be doing facial cupping therapy, and I kind of incorporate that into a facial.
01:27It's really therapeutic because it moves the lymph, which can be stagnant under the skin, especially in the face.
01:34I'm Chrissy, and I'm excited to try a face cupping treatment for the first time today.
01:39As a small business owner, my self-care routine is really important to me.
01:43Depending on how busy I am, I try to incorporate a few times of self-care throughout the day.
01:49I have decided to get the facial cupping for the first time today because I've heard that it helps with
01:55lymphatic drainage
01:56and can make your skin look a little bit more plump and alive, and that really appealed to me.
02:02So how are you feeling?
02:04Are you excited for the cupping?
02:06I'm so excited to try it. I've been feeling, like, a little bit puffy, so I'm hoping that it will
02:11help kind of calm that a little bit.
02:14Yeah, and then obviously just make you look even more radiant than you already are, so.
02:18I am so excited for that. That sounds amazing. Exactly what I need.
02:22I start with a foot soak, and I use an herb in there that will help just to open up
02:29the channels of the body.
02:31And then while the feet are soaking, we do a little series of exercises that help to begin moving the
02:38lymph in the upper part of the body.
02:39And then I'll transition Chrissy over to the table.
02:43And then, this is one of my favorite parts, is I'll use a special hair oil that's just helpful for
02:49hair growth and hair color.
02:51And I pour that over the hairline so that we really get into massaging the scalp, probably the most important
03:00part of the body, to massage.
03:01It's really helpful for relaxation.
03:05Next, I apply the face oil, so that goes, you know, all over the face, into the ears even, the
03:13neck and decollete, and I'm preparing the skin for the hot stones.
03:18The hot stones are helpful for just opening up the muscles, so getting ready to cup the muscles.
03:28And then we move into the facial cupping, which is really relaxing.
03:32We start with the chest that can kind of be a little intense sometimes because we hold a lot of
03:37tension there.
03:38Moving the cups out toward the armpit to drain the lymph, and then starting to work up the neck and
03:46chin.
03:47And then, continually, I will work an area, and then drain it out back through the front of the neck,
03:55and then down the chest, and out through the armpit again.
03:58The cups are continuously moved on the skin, and so there's no marks.
04:03Oftentimes, people get worried that they'll have red marks or kind of hickey-like marks on the body.
04:09But if it's done correctly, then there should be no marks left on the skin.
04:14So, there's so many benefits for face cupping.
04:17It creates a luminous glow.
04:20It can help decrease fine lines.
04:22It can prevent further fine lines.
04:25It takes away tensions, which people tend to have because we're looking at our devices and squinting a lot.
04:32After doing the cups, I'll use a little rose quartz mushrooms around the eyes just to kind of cool the
04:40face a little bit.
04:41And with Chrissy, I think that I'll do a nice soothing mask that has a chlorella base.
04:48So, it's pretty good for all different skin types, but I just think it would be really nice and soothing
04:52for her.
04:53I usually remove the mask with a hot towel, and after that, just applying a really nice serum.
05:00And she'll be, you know, in dreamland after that therapy.
05:08Okay, Chrissy, are you ready to see your face?
05:11Yeah, I can't wait.
05:13Oh my gosh!
05:15Wow!
05:16I have, like, no wrinkles up here in my forehead.
05:20And my lips are plump, and I have really nice defined jawline.
05:24Thank you!
05:25It feels so good.
05:26And my jaw's really relaxed after that, too.
05:30I feel so relaxed and really hydrated.
05:34Like, my skin just feels very plump.
05:36And I also feel really relaxed in my jaw.
05:40The treatment went really well today with Chrissy.
05:43She has gorgeous skin.
05:44So, one of the reasons I love facial cupping is because I love to see the transformation.
05:51And with Chrissy today, she already, she's young, she already has really a lot of elasticity.
05:57So, for her, it just was a little bit of contouring on the lower part of the face, and just
06:02kind of, like,
06:03she just looked brighter and, like, more well-rested.
06:08The face cupping felt really like you were moving things.
06:13So, it almost felt like she picked up my lymph, which I guess she did, and moved it out.
06:18Like, totally drained it.
06:21And one should always avoid facial cupping if they've had filler or Botox within five weeks.
06:28So, after five weeks, it's fine.
06:30But within that period, definitely avoid facial cupping.
06:34I would definitely try face cupping again.
06:37And I would even want to do my whole body if I could.
06:41That felt so amazing.
