00:00It's official. Mocha has formed as a tropical storm now. This storm is going to be kind of following on
00:07the heels of Hurricane Lala. Lala brought devastating impacts to the Big Island of Hawaii last weekend. Mocha is going
00:14to pass a little farther south, but it is a geographically larger storm, and that's going to bring some heavy
00:20rain into the Big Island, even though while Lala passed only 30 miles south of the Big Island for the
00:26center of circulation, this one may be more than 100 miles farther south.
00:30Bigger footprint, still some heavy rain on the north side. So as we've tracked this storm west and northwest, you
00:35can see we are keeping the center of circulation comfortably south of the Big Island, but the circulation on the
00:41north side is going to run tremendous amounts of rain up the east slopes of the mountains and the volcanic
00:46summits on the Big Island of Hawaii. That means much of the Big Island will see at least 2 to
00:524 inches of rain, but the east slopes will see 8 to 12 inches with an AccuWeather local storm max
00:56of 24 inches. We're going to see some wind out there as well, gusts of 40 to 60.
