00:00Catastrophic and life-threatening flash flooding unfortunately returns to the big island of Hawaii as we go through this week.
00:09Tropical depression 15E is getting better organized and there's no doubt that this is going to become a hurricane over
00:17the coming days.
00:18Now that dip in the jet stream north and west of the islands is going to pull the system northward
00:26as a hurricane getting very close to Hawaii the big island as we get in the Saturday local time there
00:33is a possibility that this could make landfalls a hurricane across the big island.
00:38Right now the AccuWeather I-Path has a slow jog to the north and then to the west and that
00:45slow moving nature means that the rain is going to be excessive.
00:51Take a look at the rain amounts that we're talking about here.
00:53That red area is between two to three feet of rain and we have an AccuWeather local storm max of
01:0055 inches.
01:02Of course this is in the higher terrain then the water comes down into the lower elevations and that's why
01:10we think there's catastrophic and life-threatening flash flooding.
