00:00Good afternoon. It's a fine start to the week that will change as we head towards the bank
00:04holiday weekend. But for many of us, there will be plenty more sunshine to come this
00:08afternoon after a very sunny start. You can see that on the satellite picture from this
00:12morning. High pressure dominating our weather today. So that means very little in the way
00:16of cloud, plenty of sunshine and also very little in the way of rain through today. So
00:21it's going to remain relatively dry for many areas through today with plenty of warm sunshine.
00:27It will feel a little bit warmer than it did over the weekend. That's all except more eastern
00:30coast. We've still got this onshore easterly wind that will bring a chillier feel to eastern
00:35coast. But inland areas will feel warm, quite strong sunshine as well, with temperatures
00:41climbing towards the mid to high 20s across the south and east, 26, possibly 27 degrees
00:47in the southeast, but quite widely in the low 20s. Very warm indeed. And it will feel warm
00:53as well in the sheltered sunshine, particularly across more western coasts. Across the east,
00:58more in the way of cloud is dragged in overnight. That brings the chance of some light rain for
01:03parts of northeastern England, southeastern Scotland. And here it will be a little bit
01:07murkier than elsewhere. Across the south as well, the far southwest, there's a chance of
01:11showers that starts to push up from the south. That's going to be an increasing theme through
01:16this week. Just a light shower possible overnight, but they could turn a little bit heavier into
01:21Tuesday. But for most of us, it's going to be a dry and clear night. But with more southerly
01:26winds starting to push up or air from the south, it's going to turn milder and more humid. So it
01:32will be a warmer night tonight than it has been the past few nights. That's all except the most
01:36sheltered spots in the far northwest of Scotland. But temperatures got down close to zero last night.
01:41They will be much higher than that overnight tonight, particularly across more southern areas.
01:45So a much warmer start to the day to come on Tuesday. Again, a very sunny start for the bulk
01:50of the UK.
01:51But there will be more in the way of cloud across the south and west and a chance of showers
01:55coming
01:55and going across parts of Cornwall, southwest Wales, into areas of Northern Ireland as well
02:01through the day. We could see some thunderstorms in these showers as well. But for more eastern and
02:06northern areas, it's going to be another dry day. Again, relatively cloudy across the very far north
02:12and east, perhaps some light rain from time to time. But in the best of the sunshine across central
02:17and eastern England, temperatures climbing to 27, possibly 28 degrees. So quite warm indeed. And
02:23it is going to remain warm through this week and quite humid too. And that humidity will add to the
02:29chance of thunderstorms through Tuesday evening across more southwestern areas. Bands of showery rain
02:36are set to push up from the south and west through Tuesday evening. And that will last through the rest
02:41of
02:41the week. So some heavy downpours are likely. But I will have more details on that in your full week
