00:00Heat, heat, heat, heat, heat. That has been the story across Texas and the Southern Plains
00:05this entire month. In fact, Dallas has only had two days so far this month where it failed to
00:12reach 100 degrees. We'll easily get that across the Southern Plains and Texas as we go through
00:18our Tuesday. Why has it been so hot? You always look for the location of the upper high because
00:25underneath the upper high, that's where you have the downward motion and that's where you have the
00:29Heat. Take a look at it. Look at the clockwise circulation across Texas, that upper high right
00:35near Dallas. That's why it's been so hot. Where do we look for problems? Along the periphery of the
00:39high. That's where we have problems from Little Rock toward New Orleans with thunderstorms and also
00:44in the Southwest. That's where the heat is going to be trimmed a little bit. Now this upper high,
00:49guess what it's going to do? It's going to be moving across the Four Corners area as we head
00:55toward beginning Tuesday, especially Wednesday and Thursday, which means the core of the heat
01:00is going to move out of the Southern Plains and Texas. What does that mean? Some relief. Take a
01:06look at Oklahoma City getting back toward the historical average by Thursday and even Dallas,
01:12the trim, the heat gets trimmed a little bit by the end of the week.
